Fabrication of Bio-inspired Superamphiphobic Aluminum Alloy Surface with Oil-triggered Wenzel-Slippery Transition via Femtosecond Laser

Surface-tension-confined microfluidic devices are platforms for manipulating 2D droplets based on patterned surfaces with special *** have great potential for various applications,but are still in the early stages of development and face some challenges that need to be *** study,inspired by the Wenzel and slippery transition of rose petal,develops a Patterned Oil-triggered Wenzel-slippery Surface(POWS)to examine the microfluidic devices.A laser-chemical composite method is established to fabricate POWSs,which take rose-petal-like microstructures as wettability pattern and a superamphiphobic surface as the *** prepared POWSs switched between high adhesion superhydrophobic state and the slippery liquid-infused surface state through adding or removing the lubricant *** the high adhesion superhydrophobic state,the droplets can be sticked on the *** the slippery liquid-infused state,the droplet can slide along the wettability pattern as the designed route.A POWS-based droplet reactor is further constructed,on which,the droplets can be remotely controlled to move,mix and react,as *** a POWS,which manipulates droplets with surface tension controlled by the switchable wettability patterns,would be a promising candidate to construct multiple surface-tension-confined microfluidic *** addition,the fabrication technique and design principle proposed here may aid the development of various field related to the bio-inspired surfaces,such as water collection,desalination and high throughput analysis,etc.

Lignocellulose-Based Optical Biofilter with High Near-Infrared Transmittance via Lignin Capturing–Fusing Approach

Near-infrared (NIR) transparent optical filters show great promise in night vision and receiving windows. However, NIR optical filters are generally prepared by laborious, environmentally unfriendly processes that involve metal oxides or petroleum-based polymers. We propose a lignin capturing–fusing approach to manufacturing optical biofilters based on molecular collaboration between lignin and cellulose from waste agricultural biomass. In this process, lignin is captured via self-assembly in a cellulose network;then, the lignin is fused to fill gaps and hold the cellulose fibers tightly. The resulting optical biofilter featured a dense structure and smooth surface with NIR transmittance of ~90%, ultralow haze of close to 0%, strong ultraviolet-visible light blocking (~100% at 400 nm and 57.58% to 98.59% at 550 nm). Further, the optical biofilter has comprehensive stability, including water stability, solvent stability, thermal stability, and environmental stability. Because of its unique properties, the optical biofilter demonstrates potential applications in the NIR region, such as an NIR-transmitting window, NIR night vision, and privacy protection. These applications represent a promising route to produce NIR transparent optical filters starting from lignocellulose biomass waste.

A novel algorithm for evaluating cement azimuthal density based on perturbation theory in horizontal well

Cement density monitoring plays a vital role in evaluating the quality of cementing projects,which is of great significance to the development of oil and ***,the presence of inhomogeneous cement distribution and casing eccentricity in horizontal wells often complicates the accurate evaluation of cement azimuthal *** this regard,this paper proposes an algorithm to calculate the cement azimuthal density in horizontal wells using a multi-detector gamma-ray detection *** spatial dynamic response functions are simulated to obtain the influence of cement density on gamma-ray counts by the perturbation theory,and the contribution of cement density in six sectors to the gamma-ray recorded by different detectors is obtained by integrating the spatial dynamic response *** with the relationship between gamma-ray counts and cement density,a multi-parameter calculation equation system is established,and the regularized Newton iteration method is employed to invert casing eccentricity and cement azimuthal *** approach ensures the stability of the inversion process while simultaneously achieving an accuracy of 0.05 g/cm^(3) for the cement azimuthal *** accuracy level is ten times higher compared to density accuracy calculated using calibration ***,this algorithm enhances the accuracy of cement azimuthal density evaluation,provides valuable technical support for the monitoring of cement azimuthal density in the oil and gas industry.

Recognition of Organizational Morphology of Mesoscale Convective Systems Using Himawari-8 Observations

The onset,evolution,and propagation processes of convective cells can be reflected by the organizational morphology of mesoscale convective systems(MCSs),which are key factors in determining the potential for heavy *** paper proposed a method for objectively classifying and segmenting MCSs using geosynchronous satellite *** of the product relative to the classification in radar composite reflectivity imagery indicates that the algorithm offers skill for discriminating between convective and stratiform areas and matched 65%of convective area identifications in radar imagery with a false alarm rate of 39%and an accuracy of 94%.A quantitative evaluation of the similarity between the structures of 50 MCSs randomly obtained from satellite and radar observations shows that the similarity was as high as 60%.For further testing,the organizational modes of the MCS that caused the heavy precipitation in Northwest China on August 21,2016(hereinafter known as the“0821”rainstorm)were *** was found that the MCS,accompanied by the“0821”rainstorm,successively exhibited modes of the isolated cell,squall line with parallel stratiform(PS)rain,and non-linear system during its life *** them,the PS mode might have played a key role in causing this *** findings are in line with previous studies.

Direction finding characteristics of the bio-sonar model of a big brown bat

A bionic model of bat bio-sonar is established through computer simulation in this study,with a focus on investigating itsorientation measurement performance.A model for simulating bat orientation perception is created via a binaural broadband interferometer,utilizing binaural interference *** model incorporates a convolutional neural network(CNN)to achieve extraction and perception of orientation ***,the principle of multi-frequency point defuzzification is elaborated upon in the *** simulation results reveal the proposed bionic model achieves a direction measurement accuracy of 0.87◦and 0.116◦in the rough search mode and precise search mode,respectively,at a signal-to-noise ratio of 25 *** model demonstrates high accuracy in orientation recognition and defuzzification *** to the technique that employs broad phase difference to determine target orientation information,the proposed model exhibits analogous direction finding efficiency but superior defuzzification capacity.

Exceptional activity of amino-modified rGO-immobilized PdAu nanoclusters for visible light-promoted dehydrogenation of formic acid

Formic acid(FA),which is obtainable through CO_(2)hydrogenation with green hydrogen or biomass conversion,has been used as a prospective liquid organic hydrogen carrier(LOHC)because of the abundant advantages of renewability,wide availability,stability,and high volumetric capacity(53 g H_(2)/L).The development of highly efficient catalytic systems to achieve enhanced catalytic activity is attractive but still ***,ultrafine and highly dispersed PdAu nanoclusters(NCs)anchored on amino-modified reduced graphene oxide(ArGO)were successfully synthesized via a facile impregnation-reduction method and applied as a catalyst toward formic acid dehydrogenation(FAD).Benefiting from the promoting effect of amino groups,the strain and ligand effect in the alloy,and the Mott–Schottky effect between PdAu NCs and ArGO,the resultant PdAu/ArGO affords an ultrahigh activity under visible light irradiation with an exceptional turnover frequency value of 10,699.5 h^(-1)at 298 K without any additives,more than 2.6times improvement than that under dark,which is the highest among all reported catalysts under the same *** study provides a green and convenient strategy for developing more efficient and sustainable FAD catalysts and promotes the effective utilization of FA as a prospective renewable LOHC.

The changes in the annual distribution of mountain runoff during the period of 1965-2018 in Hexi Corridor,Northwest China

The annual distribution characteristics of river runoff in arid regions have significant implications for water resource stability and *** on the mountain runoff data from 1965 to 2018,this study examines the annual change characteristics of monthly runoff of the Shiyang River Basin,Heihe River Basin,and Shule River Basin in the Hexi Corridor,Northwest *** indexes are used and analyzed,including the coefficient of variance,the complete regulation coefficient,the concentration degree and concentration period,the magnitude of change,the skewness coefficient,and the kurtosis coefficient of the annual distribution *** results reveal the following:(1)The inhomogeneity of annual runoff distribution in the Taolai River and the rivers to the west of it,except the Shiyou River,show an increasing ***,the inhomogeneity of the rivers to the east of the Taolai River generally show a downward trend,but the coefficient of variance value is still very high.(2)In the Shiyang River Basin,the annual distribution of the concentration period is characterized by a relatively discrete ***,the Heihe River Basin exhibits a relatively concentrated pattern,and the distribution pattern of the Shule River Basin is quite ***,all concentration periods in the three basins have shifted backward after the 2000s.(3)The Shiyang River Basin exhibits disordered annual distribution curves of runoff in different *** contrast,the Heihe River Basin presents a typical‘single-peak’pattern with a prominent *** Shule River Basin has regular distribution curves,with a gradually significant‘double-peak’pattern from east to ***,there has been a slight change in runoff in the Shiyang River Basin,while the Heihe River Basin and Shule River Basin have experienced significant increases in *** annual distribution curves of runoff in the Liyuan River and the rivers to the east of it exhibit a gentle peak pattern,and th
