High-capacity LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)(NCM)cathode is essential for realizing high energy density all-solid-state lithium batteries.However,the space charge layer effect between NCM cathode and the commonly used sulfide solid electrolyte results in deterioration of the battery performance.In this work,a 10-nm electrochemical stable Li_(2)ZrO_(3)(LZO)layer was in situ coated on the surface of NCM particles through facile wet chemical method.

Using stable inorganic solid electrolyte to replace organic liquid electrolyte could significantly reduce potential safety risks of rechargeable batteries. Na-superionic conductor （NASICON）-structured solid electrolyte is one of the most promising sodium solid electrolytes and can be employed in solid-state sodium batteries. In this work, a NASICON-structured solid electrolyte Na3.1Zr1.95Mg0.05Si2PO12 was synthesized through a facile solid-state reaction, yielding high sodium-ionic conductivity of 1.33 × 10-3 S.cm^-1 at room temperature. The results indicate that Mg^2＋ is a suitable and economical substitution ion to replace Zr^4＋, and this synthesis route can be scaled up for powder preparation with low cost. In addition to electrolyte material preparation, solid-state batteries with Na3.1Zr1.95Mg0.05Si2PO12 as electrolyte were assembled. A specific capacity of 57.9 mAh·g^-1 is maintained after 100 cycles under a current density of 0.5C rate at room temperature. The favorable cycling performance of the solid-state battery suggests that Na3.1Zr1.95Mg0.05Si2PO12 is an ideal electrolyte candidate for solid-state sodium batteries.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cu Matrix Composites Reinforced by TiB_(2)/TiN Ceramic Reinforcements

Cu matrix composites reinforced by TiB_(2)/TiN ceramic reinforcements(Cu/TBN composites)were prepared by hot pressing method.Prior to the hot pressing,Cu/TiB_(2)/TiN composite powders(CTBN powders),which were used as the starting materials of Cu/TBN composites,were fabricated by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis method.The CTBN particles were found to be in a special core–shell structure with a Cu–Ti alloy core and a TiB_(2)/TiN ceramic shell.The test results presented obvious improvements in mechanical properties.The highest ultimate tensile strength reached up to 297 MPa,77 MPa higher than that of Cu.And the highest hardness reached up to 70.7 HRF,15.7 HRF higher than that of Cu.A comparative study indicated that the core–shell structured particles could bring about more obvious strengthening eff ect than the traditional irregularly shaped particles,which was due to the improved Cu/ceramics interfacial bonding,the linkage strengthening effect of both TiB_(2) and TiN,and higher load bearing ability of the core–shell structured reinforcements.

Hard carbon derived from biomass is regarded as a promising anode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)because of its low operating potential,high capacity,resource availability,and low cost.However,scientific and technological challenges still exist to prepare hard carbon with a high initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE),an excellent rate capability,and good cycling stability.In this work,we report a self-supported hard carbon electrode from fungus-pretreated basswood with an improved graphitization degree and a low tortuosity.Compared with the hard carbon derived from basswood,the hard carbon electrode from fungus-pretreated basswood has an improved rate capability of 242.3 mAh·g^(−1)at 200 mA·g^(−1)and cycling stability with 93.9%of its capacity retention after 200 cycles at 40 mA·g^(−1),as well as the increased ICE from 84.3%to 88.2%.Additionally,ex-situ X-ray diffraction indicates that Na+adsorption caused the sloping capacity,whereas Na+intercalation between interlayer spacing corresponded to the low potential plateau capacity.This work provides a new perspective for the preparation of high-performance hard carbon and gains the in-depth understanding of Na storage mechanism.

The β-Si3N4 whiskers (β-Si3N4w) reinforced A1 matrix com posites were first fabricated by hot pressing, then treated through hot extrusion. The microstructure characterization dem onstrated the preferred orientations of both β-Si3N4w and A1 grains in the as-extruded composites. It indicated th at β-Si3N4w were aligned along the extrusion direction and A1 grains exhibited a distinct ai texture. The interface betw een β-Si3N4w and A1 was in a good bonding status without voids and reaction products. Effects of extrusion process on the mechanical properties of com posites were also investigated. The results indicated the extrusion process had a prom inent strengthening effect on the mechanical properties of composites. The maxim umyield strength and ultim ate tensile strength of com posites reached up to 170 and 289 MPa, respectively, accompanied by a 12.3% elongation at fracture w hen the w hisker fraction was 15 vol.%. This im provem ent was collectively attributed to the densification of composites, the strong interface, and the preferred orientation inside composites. The yield strength of the composites reinforced with 5 vol.%β-Si3N4w corresponded well w ith the theoretical value from different strengthening mechanisms.

Preeclampsia (PE) is a pregnancy-specific, multi-system disorder and the leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality in obstetrics worldwide. Excessive vasoconstriction and dysregulated coagulation function are closely associated with PE. Heat shock protein 20 (HSP20) is ubiquitously expressed under normal physiological conditions and has important roles in vascular dilatation and suppression of platelet aggregation. However, the role of HSP20 in the pathogenesis of PE remains unclear. In this study, we collected chorionic plate resistance arteries (CPAs) and serum from 118 healthy pregnant women and 80 women with PE and detected the levels of HSP20 and its phosphorylated form. Both HSP20 and phosphorylated HSP20 were downregulated in CPAs from women with PE. Comparison of the vasodilative ability of CPAs from the two groups showed impaired relaxation responses to acetyl choline in preeclamptic vessels. In addition to the reduced HSP20 in serum from women with PE, the platelet distribution width and mean platelet volume were also decreased, and the activated partial thromboplastin time and thromboplastin time were elevated. With regard to the vital roles of HSP20 in mediating vasorelaxation and coagulation function, the decreased HSP20 might contribute to the pathogenesis of PE.

Thermal conductivity model of filled polymer composites

Theoretical and empirical models for predicting the thermal conductivity of polymer composites were summarized since the 1920s.The effects of particle shape,filler amount,dispersion state of fillers,and interfacial thermal barrier on the thermal conductivity of filled polymer composites were investigated,and the agreement of experimental data with theoretical models in literatures was discussed.Silica with high thermal conductivity was chosen to mix with polyvinyl-acetate （EVA） copolymer to prepare SiO2/EVA co-films.Experimental data of the co-films＇ thermal conductivity were compared with some classical theoretical and empirical models.The results show that Agari＇s model,the mixed model,and the percolation model can predict well the thermal conductivity of SiO2/EVA co-films.

Structure and Anti-HIV Activity of Betulinic Acid Analogues

Firstly discovered in 1980s, human immunodeficiency virus （HIV） continues to affect more and more people. However, there is no effective drug available for the therapy of HIV infection. Betulinic acid existing in various medicinal herbs and fruits exhibits multiple biological effects, especially its outstanding anti-HIV activity, which has drawn the attentions of many pharmacists. Among the derivatives of betulinic acid, some compounds exhibited inhibitory activities at the nanomolar concentration, and have entered phase II clinical trials. This paper summarizes the current investigations on the anti-HIV activity of betulinic acid analogues, and provides valuable data for subsequent researches.
