Exploring the diversity of dissolved organic matter(DOM)properties and sources in different functional areas of a typical macrophyte-derived lake combined with optical spectroscopy and FT-ICR MS analysis

Lake Baiyangdian is one of China’s largest macrophyte-derived lakes,facing severe challenges related to water quality maintenance and eutrophication *** organic matter(DOM)was a huge carbon pool and its abundance,property,and transformation played important roles in the biogeochemical cycle and energy flow in lake *** this study,Lake Baiyangdian was divided into four distinct areas:Unartificial Area(UA),Village Area(VA),Tourism Area(TA),and Breeding Area(BA).We examined the diversity of DOM properties and sources across these functional *** findings reveal that DOM in this lake is predominantly composed of protein-like substances,as determined by excitation-emission matrix and parallel factor analysis(EEM-PARAFAC).Notably,the exogenous tyrosine-like component C1 showed a stronger presence in VA and BA compared to UA and ***-resolution mass spectrometry(FT-ICR MS)unveiled a similar DOM molecular composition pattern across different functional areas due to the high relative abundances of lignan compounds,suggesting that macrophytes significantly influence the material structure of *** properties exhibited specific associations with water quality indicators in various functional areas,as indicated by the Mantel *** connections between DOM properties and NO_(3)-N andNH3-Nwere more pronounced in VA and BA than in UA and *** results underscore the viability of using DOM as an indicator for more precise and scientific water quality management.

Inexact proximal gradient algorithm with random reshuffling for nonsmooth optimization

Proximal gradient algorithms are popularly implemented to achieve convex optimization with nonsmooth regularization. Obtaining the exact solution of the proximal operator for nonsmooth regularization is challenging because errors exist in the computation of the gradient; consequently, the design and application of inexact proximal gradient algorithms have attracted considerable attention from researchers. This paper proposes computationally efficient basic and inexact proximal gradient descent algorithms with random reshuffling. The proposed stochastic algorithms take randomly reshuffled data to perform successive gradient descents and implement only one proximal operator after all data pass through. We prove the convergence results of the proposed proximal gradient algorithms under the sampling-without-replacement reshuffling *** computational errors exist in gradients and proximal operations, the proposed inexact proximal gradient algorithms can converge to an optimal solution neighborhood. Finally, we apply the proposed algorithms to compressed sensing and compare their efficiency with some popular algorithms.

Distributions and risk assessment of heavy metals in solid waste in lead-zinc mining areas and across the soil, water body, sediment and agricultural product ecosystem in their surrounding areas

To identify the root causes of heavy metal contamination in soils as well as prevent and control such contamination from its sources,this study explored the accumulation patterns and ecological risks of heavy metals like Cd and Pb in solid waste in mining areas and across the water body,sediment,soil and agricultural product ecosystem surrounding the mining *** on the residual solid waste samples in lead-zinc deposits in a certain area of Guizhou Province,along with samples of topsoils,irrigation water,river sediments,and crops from surrounding *** study analyzed the distributions of eight heavy metals,i.e.,Cd,As,Cr,Hg,Pb,Zn,Cu,and Ni,in the samples through field surveys and sample ***,this study assessed the contamination levels and ecological risks of heavy metals in soils,sediments,and agricultural products using methods such as the single-factor index,Nemerow composite index,and potential ecological risk *** results indicate that heavy metals in the solid waste samples all exhibited concentrations exceeding their risk screening values,with 60%greater than their risk intervention *** soils and sediments demonstrate slight and moderate comprehensive ecological risks of heavy *** single-factor potential ecological risks of heavy metals in both the soil and sediment samples decreased in the order of Hg,Cd,Pb,As,Cu,Zn,Cr,and Ni,suggesting the same sources of heavy metals in the soils and *** of the agricultural product samples exhibited over-limit concentrations of heavy metals dominated by Cd,Pb,Ni,and Cr,excluding Hg and *** agricultural product assessment using the Nemerow composite index reveals that 35%of the agricultural product samples reached the heavy metal contamination level,implying that the agricultural products from farmland around the solid waste dumps have been contaminated with heavy *** eight heavy metals in the soil,sediment,and agricultural product samples manifested hig

目的观察改良后外侧入路在四踝骨折治疗中的应用效果。方法回顾性分析2022年6月至2023年6月河南省洛阳正骨医院(河南省骨科医院)足踝外科收治的12例四踝骨折患者资料。男5例,女7例;年龄(37.3±12.2)岁;受伤至手术时间(8.8±3.5)d。所有患者均采用改良后外侧入路对移位的Chaput结节骨折、外踝和后踝骨折完成切开复位和固定治疗。评估切口显露范围,记录手术时间、术中出血量、切口的愈合情况。术后采用Burwell-Charnley标准评价骨折复位质量,末次随访时采用美国足踝外科协会(AOFAS)踝-后足评分标准、视觉疼痛模拟评分(VAS)评分及踝关节活动度评价疗效。结果所有患者术中均能良好的显露Chaput结节及胫距关节前外侧、外踝及后踝。12例患者术后随访(14.3±1.8)个月。手术时间(152.5±26.0)min,术中出血量(137.5±44.1)mL。切口均一期愈合,随访过程中无切口并发症发生。根据Burwell-Charnley骨折复位评价所有患者均实现解剖复位,CT扫描显示下胫腓联合复位良好。末次随访时AOFAS踝-后足评分为(94.1±8.3)分,疼痛VAS评分为0(0,1)分;踝关节活动度:背屈17.5°±9.0°,跖屈35.2°±9.6°。结论改良后外侧入路能够良好地显露踝关节前外侧、下胫腓联合、外踝及后踝骨折,骨折解剖复位率高,切口安全,软组织并发症少,是一种安全、简单、有效的手术入路。

Affinity-guided protein conjugation: the trilogy of covalent protein labeling, assembly and inhibition

Specific and dynamic biological interactions pave the blueprint of signal networks in cell. For example, a great variety of specific protein-ligand interactions define how intracellular signals flow. Taking advantage of the specificity of these interactions, we postulate an "affinity-guided covalent conjugation" strategy to lock binding ligands through covalent reactions between the ligand and the receptor protein. The presence of a nucleophile close to the ligand binding site of a protein is sine qua none of this reaction. Specific noncovalent interaction of a ligand derivative(which contains an electrophile at a designed position) to the ligand binding site of the protein brings the electrophile to the close proximity of the nucleophile. Subsequently, a conjugation reaction spontaneously takes place between the nucleophile and the electrophile, and leads to an intermolecular covalent linkage. This strategy was first showcased in coiled coil peptides which include a cysteine mutation at a selected position. The short peptide sequence was used for covalent labeling of cell surface receptors. The same strategy was then used to guide the design of a set of protein Lego bricks for covalent assembly of protein complexes of unnatural geometry. We finally made "reactive peptides" for natural adaptor proteins that play significant roles in signal transduction. The peptides were designed to react with a single domain of the multidomain adaptor protein, delivered into the cytosol of neurons, and re-directed the intracellular signal of neuronal migration. The trilogy of protein labeling, assembly, and inhibition of intracellular signals, all through a specific covalent bond, fully demonstrated the generality and versatility of "affinity-guided covalent conjugation" in various applications.

A strong adhesive block polymer coating for antifouling of large molecular weight protein

Some proteins secreted by microorganisms have large molecular weights. We report here an approach to prepare coating by multilayer polymers for antifouling of proteins, especially the proteins with a large molecular *** steel was used as the model substrate. The substrate was first coated with a hybrid polymer film, which was formed by simultaneous hydrolytic polycondensation of 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane and polymerization of dopamine(HPAPD). After grafting the macroinitiator 2-bromoisobutyryl bromide, the block polymer brushes PMMA-b-PHEMA were grafted. Three proteins were used to test protein adsorption and antifouling behavior of the coating, including recombinant green fluorescent(54 k Da), recombinant R-transaminase(2 × 90 k Da), and recombinant catalase(4 × 98 k Da). It is demonstrated that the block polymer brushes not only can prevent the adsorption of small molecular weight proteins, but also can significantly reduce the adsorption of the large molecular weight proteins.

Effects of relative humidity and PM2.5 chemical compositions on visibility impairment in Chengdu, China

To better understand the potential causes of visibility impairment in autumn and winter in Chengdu,relative humidity(RH),visibility,the concentrations of PM2.5 and its chemical components were on-line measured continuously in Chengdu from Nov.2016 to *** obvious haze episodes occurred in Chengdu,with the total time of haze episodes accounted for more than 90%of the total observation period,and higher NO2 concentrations and RH were related to the high particle concentrations in haze *** visibility decreased in a non-linear tendency under different RH conditions with the increase of PM2.5 concentrations,which was more sensitive to RH under lower PM2.5 *** threshold concentration of PM2.5 got more smaller with the increase of *** the entire observation period,organic matter(OM)was the largest contributor(31.12%to extinction coefficient(bext)),followed by NH4NO3 and(NH4)2SO4 with 28.03%and 23.01%,***,with the visibility impairment from Type I(visibility>10 km)to Type IV(visibility≤2 km),the contribution of OM to bextdecreased from 38.12%to 26.77%,while the contribution of NH4NO3 and(NH4)2SO4 to bextincreased from 19.09%and 20.20%to 34.29%and 24.35%,respectively,and NH4NO3 became the largest contributor to bextat Type *** results showed that OM and NH4NO3 were the key components of PM2.5 for visibility impairment in Chengdu,indicating that the control of precursors emissions of carbonaceous species and NH4NO3 could effectively improve the visibility in Chengdu.

Effects of the susceptibility of rice varieties to Sogatella furcifera on nymphal development and reproduction of Microvelia horvathi through a food chain

The effects of four rice varieties highly susceptible （ xiang-Zao-xian31 and Jia-Yu 164 ）, moderately susceptible （ Wei-You402 ）, and resistant （ Zhu-Liang-You02 ） to the whitebacked planthopper Sogatellafurcifera on the nymphal development, reproduc- tion and survival of Microvelia horoathi were investigated through a food chain using SogateUafurcifera as herbivore prey. Significant longer nymphal developmental time were observed in the 1 st, 4th, 5th instar and whole nymphal stage of M. horvathi raised on S. furcifera fed ZLY02 and WY402 than those of the other two varieties. M. horvathi raised on S. furcifera fed resistant ZLY02 showed a significant lower survival of whole nymphal stage than those fed other three susceptible varieties. Moreover, M. horvathi raised on S. furcifera fed resistant ZLY02 had shorter female longevity and lower lifetime fecundity than those of on susceptible XZX3l. Our results suggest that the S. furcifera- resistant rice variety ZLY02 had a negative effect on the growth and development of the predator M. horvathi through a food chain.
