A dopant-assisted iodide-adduct chemical ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer based on VUV lamp photoionization for atmospheric low-molecular-weight organic acids analysis

Formic and acetic acids are the most abundant gaseous organic acids and play the key role in the atmospheric *** iodine-adduct chemical ionizationmass spectrometry(CIMS),the low utilization efficiency of methyl iodide and humidity interference are two major issues of the vacuum ultraviolet(VUV)lamp initiated CIMS for on-line gaseous formic and acetic acids *** this work,we present a new CIMS based on VUV lamp,and the ion-molecular reactor is separated into photoionization and chemical ionization zones by a reducer *** was added to the photoionization zone,and the VUV photoionization acetone provided low-energy electrons for methyl iodide to generate I−,and the addition of acetone reduced the amount of methyl iodide by 2/*** the chemical ionization zone,a headspace vial containing ultrapure water was added for humidity calibration,and the vial changes the sensitivity as a function of humidity from ambiguity to well linear correlation(R2>0.95).With humidity calibration,the CIMS can quantitatively measure formic and acetic acids in the humidity range of 0%-88%*** this mode,limits of detection of 10 and 50 pptv are obtained for formic and acetic acids,*** the relative standard deviation(RSD)of quantitation stability for 6 days were less than 10.5%.This CIMS was successfully used to determine the formic and acetic acids in the underground parking and ambient environment of the Shandong University campus(Qingdao,China).In addition,we developed a simple model based formic acid concentration to assess vehicular emissions.

The Zn-Al spinel oxide stands out as one of the most active catalysts for high-temperature methanol synthesis from CO_(2)***,the structure–activity relationship of the reaction remains poorly understood due to challenges in atomic-level structural characterizations and analysis of reaction *** this study,we prepared two Zn-Al spinel oxide catalysts via coprecipitation(ZnAl-C)and hydrothermal(ZnAl-H)methods,and conducted a comparative investigation in the CO_(2)hydrogenation ***,under similar conditions,ZnAl-C exhibited significantly higher selectivity towards methanol and DME compared to *** characterizations using X-ray diffraction(XRD),Raman spectroscopy and electron paramagnetic resonance(EPR)unveiled that ZnAl-C catalyst had abundant ZnO species on its surface,and the interaction between the ZnO species and its ZnAl spinel oxide matrix led to the formation of oxygen vacancies,which are crucial for CO_(2)adsorption and ***,state-of-the-art solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)techniques,including ex-situ and in-situ NMR analyses,confirmed that the surface ZnO facilitates the formation of unique highly reactive interfacial formate species,which was readily hydrogenated to methanol and *** insights elucidate the promotion effects of ZnO on the ZnAl spinel oxide in regulating active sites and reactive intermediates for CO_(2)-to-methanol hydrogenation reaction,which is further evidenced by the significant enhancement in methanol and DME selectivity observed upon loading ZnO onto the ZnAl-H *** molecular-level mechanism understandings reinforce the idea of optimizing the ZnO-ZnAl interface through tailored synthesis methods to achieve activity-selectivity balance.

Dual Control of Macrolithotype and Coal Structure on the Pore Parameters of Middle Jurassic Coals in the Southern Junggar Basin,NW China

Coal pore parameters are closely related to macrolithotypes and coal structures,having a large influence over the gas potential and productivity of coalbed methane(CBM).The Middle Jurassic xishanyao Formation,located in the southern Junggar Basin of northwestern China,has geological conditions with rich CBM *** 46 xishanyao coal samples gathered from the drilling cores and coal mines cover 4 types of macrolithotypes(bright coal 1,semi-bright coal 2,semi-dull coal 3,and dull coal 4)and 2 types of coal structures(primary coal I and cataclastic coal II).Based on a range of pore testing experiments and analytical methods,the dual effects of different macrolithotypes and coal structures on pore structures were intensely *** results showed that the specific surface area(SSA)and total pore volume(TPV)of coal samples increased gradually from bright to dull *** the same macrolithotypes,the SSA and TPV of the primary coals were lower than those of the cataclastic ***,the pore structures of bright and semi-bright coals are simpler when compared to semi-dull and dull coals with the same coal structure,whereas cataclastic coals have more complicated pore structure systems than primary coals with the same *** bright and semi-bright coals have higher vitrinite contents and more endogenous fractures,whereas well-developed structural fractures were identified in cataclastic ***,bright and semi-bright coals have better pore connectivity than semi-dull and dull coals with the same coal structure,the pore connectivity of cataclastic coals being slightly better than that of primary coals under the same *** terms of the CBM adsorption conditions,the eight type samples formed a descending order:Ⅱ-4>I-4>Ⅱ-3>Ⅰ-3>Ⅱ-2>Ⅰ-2>Ⅱ-1>Ⅰ-1,while they ranked as follows when consideration was given to the CBM seepage capacities:II-2>Ⅱ-1>Ⅰ-2>Ⅰ-1>Ⅰ-3>Ⅰ-4>Ⅱ-3>Ⅱ-*** a result,it could be determined that the bright and semi-bright

Fine particle detachment and subsequent migration can lead to severe pore plugging and consequent permeability decline. Therefore, it is crucial to quantify the critical condition when fine particle detachment occurs. The frequently observed deviations or even contradictions between experimental results and theoretical predictions of fines detachment arise from an insufficient understanding of adhesion force that can be highly influenced by salinity and temperature. To clarify the intrinsic influence of salinity and temperature on fines detachment, adhesion forces between carboxyl microspheres and hydrophilic silica substrates in an aqueous medium were measured at various salinities and temperatures using atomic force microscopy(AFM). The AFM-measured adhesion force decreases with increasing salinity or temperature. Trends of mean measured adhesion forces with temperature and salinity were compared with the DLVO and XDLVO theories. DLVO theory captured the trend with temperature via the impact of temperature on electric double layer interactions, whereas XDLVO theory captured the observed trend with salinity via the impact of salinity on the repulsive hydration force. Our results highlight the significance of hydration force in accurately predicting the fate of fines in porous media.

The ocean serves as a repository for various types of artificial ***(NPs)and nano zinc oxide(nZnO),which are frequently employed in personal care products and food packaging materials,are likely simultaneously released and eventually into the ocean with surface ***,their mutual influence and shared destiny in marine environment cannot be *** study examined how nanomaterials interacted and transported through sea sand in various salinity *** showed that NPs remained dispersed in brine,while nZnO formed *** seawater of 35 practical salinity units(PSU),nZnO formed heteroaggregates with NPs,inhibiting NPs mobility and decreasing the recovered mass percentage(Meff)from 24.52%to 12.65%.In 3.5 PSU brackish water,nZnO did not significantly aggregate with NPs,and thus barely affected their ***,NPs greatly enhanced nZnO transport with Meff increasing from 14.20%to 25.08%,attributed to the carrier effect of higher mobility *** from brackishwater to seawater was simulated in salinity change experiments and revealed a critical salinity threshold of 10.4 PSU,below which the mobility of NPs was not affected by coexisting nZnO and above which nZnO strongly inhibited NP *** study highlights the importance of considering the mutual influence and shared destiny of artificial nanoparticles in the marine environment and how their interaction and cotransport are dependent on changes in seawater salinity.

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. The particle packed bed energy storage system has advantages such as low costs and wide temperature ranges,which can be combined with solar thermal power generation systems to solve the inherent volatility and discontinuity of renewable *** new materials with low costs and excellent storage performances is one of the eternal research hotspots in the field of energy *** paper innovatively uses sintered ore particles as energy storage material and studies the effect of particle size on the airflow resistance characteristics,energy storage characteristics,and thermocline evolution characteristics of the packed bed through thermal energy storage *** results indicate that for the particles in the macro scale,the smaller the particle,the lower the absolute permeability of the bed and the greater the airflow *** packed bed with smaller particles has a larger specific surface area,larger bulk mass,and smaller bed ***,the packed beds with smaller particles have better thermocline characteristics,less irreversible loss,and can achieve higher thermal efficiency and higher exergy efficiency in the heat storage *** cycle thermal efficiency in packed beds with 25-40 mm,16-25 mm,and 10-16 mm particles is 53.58%,56.27%,and 57.60%,respectively,and the cycle exergy efficiency is 61.81%,69.25%,and 74.13%,***,this paper also studies the effect of discharging airflow rates on thermal storage *** experimental results indicate that suitable discharging strategies should be selected based on different heat demands.

Timely and accurate forecasting of storm surges can effectively prevent typhoon storm surges from causing large economic losses and casualties in coastal *** present,numerical model forecasting consumes too many resources and takes too long to compute,while neural network forecasting lacks regional data to train regional forecasting *** this study,we used the DUAL wind model to build typhoon wind fields,and constructed a typhoon database of 75 processes in the northern South China Sea using the coupled Advanced Circulation-Simulating Waves Nearshore(ADCIRC-SWAN)***,a neural network with a Res-U-Net structure was trained using the typhoon database to forecast the typhoon processes in the validation dataset,and an excellent storm surge forecasting effect was achieved in the Pearl River Estuary *** storm surge forecasting effect of stronger typhoons was improved by adding a branch structure and transfer learning.
