Establishment of a cholangiocarcinoma risk evaluation model based on mucin expression levels

BACKGROUND Cholangiocarcinoma(CCA)is a highly malignant cancer,characterized by frequent mucin ***1 has been identified as a critical oncogene in the progression of ***,the comprehensive understanding of how the mucin family influences CCA progression and prognosis is still *** To investigate the functions of mucins on the progression of CCA and to establish a risk evaluation formula for stratifying CCA *** Single-cell RNA sequencing data from 14 CCA samples were employed for elucidating the roles of mucins,complemented by bioinformatic ***-quent validations were conducted through spatial transcriptomics and *** construction of a risk evaluation model utilized the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression algorithm,which was further confirmed by independent cohorts and diverse data *** CCA tumor cells with elevated levels of MUC1 and MUC4 showed activated nucleotide metabolic pathways and increased ***5AC-high cells were found to promote CCA progression through WNT ***5B-high cells exhibited robust cellular oxidation activities,leading to resistance against antitumoral ***13-high cells were observed to secret chemokines,recruiting and transforming macrophages into the M2-polarized state,thereby suppressing antitumor ***16-high cells were found to promote tumor progression through interleukin-1/nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells signaling upon interaction with *** the expression levels of these mucins,a risk factor evaluation formula for CCA was developed and validated across multiple *** samples with higher risk factors exhibited stronger metastatic potential,chemotherapy resistance,and poorer *** Our study elucidates the functional mechanisms through which mucins contribute to CCA development,and provides tools for risk stratification in CCA.

A Novel Method for Forecasting Freak Wave Occurrence in A Short Crested Coastal Sea

In order to forecast the distribution of crest amplitudes and the occurrence of freak waves in a short crested coastal sea,a novel transformed linear simulation method is initially proposed in this paper.A Hermite transformation model expressed as a monotonic cubic polynomial serves as the foundation for the novel simulation *** wave crest amplitude exceedance probabilities of two sea states-one with a directional wave spectrum based on the measured wave elevation data at the Yura coast and the other with a typical directional JONSWAP wave spectrum-have been predicted using the novel simulation method that has been *** likelihood that a particular critical wave crest amplitude will be exceeded is directly correlated with the probability that freak waves will *** is shown that the novel simulation approach suggested can provide predictions that are more precise than those obtained from the Rayleigh crest amplitude distribution model,the Jahns and Wheeler crest amplitude distribution model,or the conventional linear simulation *** study also demonstrated that the nonlinear simulation method is less effective than the novel simulation method in terms of efficiency.

In the realm of large-scale machine learning,it is crucial to explore methods for reducing computational complexity and memory demands while maintaining generalization ***,since the collected data may contain some sensitive information,it is also of great significance to study privacy-preserving machine learning *** paper focuses on the performance of the differentially private stochastic gradient descent(SGD)algorithm based on random *** begin,the algorithm maps the original data into a lowdimensional space,thereby avoiding the traditional kernel method for large-scale data storage ***,the algorithm iteratively optimizes parameters using the stochastic gradient descent ***,the output perturbation mechanism is employed to introduce random noise,ensuring algorithmic *** prove that the proposed algorithm satisfies the differential privacy while achieving fast convergence rates under some mild conditions.

High-Efficiency Wideband Transmitarray Antenna Using Polarization-Rotating Elements with Parasitic Stubs

A high-efficiency polarization-rotating transmitarray antenna(TA) using wideband elements is proposed for millimeter-wave applications. The polarization-rotating element consists of three metallic layers and two substrates. Orthogonal polarizers are employed on the top and bottom of the element. And the split ring with a parasitic stub on the middle layer is symmetric about the diagonal, performing the polarization rotation and phase compensation simultaneously. A parasitic stub is designed to decrease transmission loss and broaden the bandwidth. The periodicity of the element is only 1/4 wavelength at 30 GHz. A prototype TA with 28 × 28 elements is designed, fabricated, and measured. The measured peak gain reaches 27.5 d Bi at 37.8 GHz. The 1-d B gain drop bandwidth is 30.8–40 GHz(26.0%).The aperture efficiency reaches as high as 71% at 31.5 GHz. Within the bandwidth of 26.5–38.8 GHz(37.7%), the aperture efficiency is higher than 50%. The proposed polarization-rotating TA features wide bandwidth and high efficiency, demonstrating great application potential for 5G millimeter-wave communication.

Unexpected/contrary behavior of aerosol mass concentration in response to the individual components'concentration reduction in Kitakyushu,Japan

In the suburbs of Kitakyushu,Japan,the inorganic aerosol mass concentration(IAM)was about 32.7μg/m^(3),with the aerosol pH of *** study the thermodynamics of aerosol when its individual components'concentration is reduced,sensitive tests were performed using the ISORROPIAⅡmodel,in which the seven control species—TNaCl,TNH_(4)^(+),TSO_(4)^(2-),TNO_(3)^(-),TMg^(2+),TK^(+),and TCa^(2+)—were taken into *** and inorganic aerosol pH after reducing TNaCl,TNO_(3)^(-),TMg^(2+),TK^(+),and TCa^(2+)responded linearly(0%≤concentration reduction ratio(CRR)≤100%,with the exception of 100%in TNaCl);the nonlinear variations of these two parameters could be observed by controlling TNH_(4)^(+)and TSO_(4)^(2-).Unexpected aerosol behavior occurred at 100%reduction of TNaCl,which was caused by the sudden increase of NO_(3)^(-),NH_(4)^(+),and aerosol liquid water content(ALWC);the increase of IAM was also observed after controlling TSO_(4)^(2-)(60%≤CRR≤100%)and TCa^(2+)(0%≤CRR≤100%),which was mainly related to the variation of ALWC driven by the response of CaSO_(4).Multiple regression analysis showed that ALWC was statistically and strongly related to the variations of NO_(3)^(-),Cl-,SO_(4)^(2-),HSO_(4)^(-),HNO_(3),and NH_(3)(P<0.05),with regression coefficients of 1.68,5.23,1.83,2.81,0.34,and 0.57,*** highest coefficient(5.23)was found for Cl^(-),revealing that sea salts significantly influenced particle ***,this study comprehensively investigated aerosol characteristics and inner responses for the reduction of components,which is of great significance for a better understanding of atmospheric chemistry in Kitakyushu,Japan.

Experimental investigation on using CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion with high water cut in enhanced oil recovery

CO_(2) emulsions used for EOR have received a lot of interest because of its good performance on CO_(2)mobility ***,most of them have been focusing on the high quality CO_(2) emulsion(high CO_(2) fraction),while CO_(2) emulsion with high water cut has been rarely *** this paper,we carried out a comprehensive experimental study of using high water cut CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion for enhancing oil ***,a nonionic surfactant,alkyl glycosides(APG),was selected to stabilize CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion,and the corresponding morphology and stability were evaluated with a transparent PVT ***,plugging capacity and apparent viscosity of CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion were measured systematically by a sand pack displacement apparatus connected with a 1.95-m long capillary ***,a high water cut(40 vol%) CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion was selected for flooding experiments in a long sand pack and a core sample,and the oil recovery,the rate of oil recovery,and the pressure gradients were *** results indicated that APG had a good performance on emulsifying and stabilizing CO_(2) *** inversion from H_(2)O/CO_(2) emulsion to CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion with the increase in water cut was ***_(2)/H_(2)O emulsions with lower water cuts presented higher apparent viscosity,while the optimal plugging capacity of CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion occurred at a certain water ***,the displacement using CO_(2)/H_(2)O emulsion provided 18.98% and 13.36% additional oil recovery than that using pure CO_(2) in long sand pack and core tests,*** work may provide guidelines for EOR using CO_(2) emulsions with high water cut.
