Combined biochar and wheat-derived endophytic bacteria reduces cadmium uptake in wheat grains in a metal-polluted soil

In this study,two wheat-derived cadmium(Cd)-immobilizing endophytic Pseudomonas paralactis M14 and Priestia megaterium R27 were evaluated for their effects on wheat tissue Cd uptake under hydroponic ***,the impacts of the biochar(BC),M14+R27(MR),and BC+MR treatments on wheat Cd uptake and the mechanisms involved were investigated at the jointing,heading,and mature stages of wheat plants under field-plot conditions.A hydroponic experiment showed that the MR treatment significantly decreased the above-ground tissue Cd content compared with theM14 or R27 *** BC+MRtreatment reduced the grain Cd content by 51.5%-67.7%and Cd translocation factor at the mature stage of wheat plants and increased the organic matter-bound Cd content by 31%-75%in the rhizosphere soils compared with the BC or MR *** with the BC or MR treatment,the relative abundances of the biomarkers associated with Gemmatimonas,Altererythrobacter,Gammaproteobacteria,Xanthomonadaceae,Phenylobacterium,and Nocardioides in the BC+MR-treated rhizosphere microbiome decreased and negatively correlated with the organic matter-bound Cd *** the BC+MR-treated root interior microbiome,the relative abundance of the biomarker belonging to Exiguobacterium increased and negatively correlated with the Cd translocation factor,while the relative abundance of the biomarker belonging to Pseudonocardiaceae decreased and positively correlated with the Cd translocation *** findings suggested that the BC+MR treatment reduced Cd availability and Cd transfer through affecting the abundances of these specific biomarkers in the rhizosphere soil and root interior microbiomes,leading to decreased wheat grain Cd uptake in the contaminated soil.

利用中国综合社会调查数据(2003~2021),描述分析了中国民众普遍信任的动态变迁趋势及其影响因素。研究发现,普遍信任随个体年龄的增长呈现出“U”型曲线趋势(年龄效应),且随不同测量时期总体上呈现为上升趋势(时期效应),同时,普遍信任随不同世代呈倒“U”型趋势(世代效应):自1925世代起逐步上升,于1940世代由负转正,随后1945世代至1970世代间进入相对稳定的平台时期,1975世代后开始迅速下降,1990世代落到建国后的最低值,此后缓慢回升。研究还发现,亲属关系和收入差距对普遍信任的变迁产生显著的负向影响,而市场化系数、人口流动率、社会组织数量、平均受教育年限和政府信任指数等变量则对普遍信任的变迁产生正向影响。论文将普遍信任的历时性变迁特征嵌入到近百年来中国社会发展的不同阶段以及由此而生成的不同信任模式中加以解释,研究结果丰富了学术界对我国民众普遍信任变迁趋势的描述及其理论解释。

Damage to electrical equipment in an earthquake can lead to power outage of power *** fragility analysis is a common method to assess the seismic reliability of electrical *** further guarantee the efficiency of analysis,multi-source uncertainties including the structure itself and seismic excitation need to be considered.A method for seismic fragility analysis that reflects structural and seismic parameter uncertainty was developed in this *** proposed method used a random sampling method based on Latin hypercube sampling(LHS)to account for the structure parameter uncertainty and the group structure characteristics of electrical ***,logistic Lasso regression(LLR)was used to find the seismic fragility surface based on double ground motion intensity measures(IM).The seismic fragility based on the finite element model of an±1000 kV main transformer(UHVMT)was analyzed using the proposed *** results show that the seismic fragility function obtained by this method can be used to construct the relationship between the uncertainty parameters and the failure *** seismic fragility surface did not only provide the probabilities of seismic damage states under different IMs,but also had better stability than the fragility ***,the sensitivity analysis of the structural parameters revealed that the elastic module of the bushing and the height of the high-voltage bushing may have a greater influence.

A joint statistical model of wind speed and wind shear is critical for height-dependent wind resource characteristic ***,given the different atmospheric conditions that may be involved,the statistical distribution of the two variables may show multimodal *** this work,a finite mixture bivariate statistical model was designed to describe the statistical properties,which is composed of several components,each with a Weibull distribution and a normal distribution for wind speed and wind shear,respectively,with a Gaussian copula to describe the dependency structure between the two *** confirm the developed model,reanalysis data from six positions in the coastal sea areas of China were *** results disclosed that the developed joint statistical model can accurately capture the different multimodal structures presented in all the bivariate samples under mixed atmospheric conditions,giving acceptable predictions of the joint probability *** consideration of wind shear coefficient variation is crucial in estimating height-dependent wind resource ***,unlike traditional methods that are limited to specific hub heights,the model developed here can estimate wind energy potential across different hub heights,enhancing the economic viability assessment of wind power projects.

Designing highly active electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution and reduction reactions(OER and ORR)is pivotal to renewable energy ***,based on density functional theory(DFT)calculations,we systematically investigate the catalytic activity of iron-nitrogen-carbon based covalent organic frameworks(COF)monolayers with axially coordinated ligands(denotes as Fe N_(4)-X@COF,X refers to axial ligand,X=-SCN,-I,-H,-SH,-NO_(2),-Br,-ClO,-Cl,-HCO_(3),-NO,-ClO_(2),-OH,-CN and-F).The calculated results demonstrate that all the catalysts possess good thermodynamic and electrochemical *** different ligands axially ligated to the Fe active center could induce changes in the charge of the Fe center,which further regulates the interaction strength between intermediates and catalysts that governs the catalytic ***,FeN_(4)-SH@COF and Fe N_(4)-OH@COF are efficient bifunctional catalysts for HER and OER,FeN_(4)-OH@COF and FeN_(4)-I@COF are promising bifunctional catalysts for OER and *** findings not only reveal promising bifunctional HER/OER and OER/ORR catalysts but also provide theoretical guidance for designing optimum ironnitrogen-carbon based catalysts.

The CRISPR RNA(crRNA)consists of a conserved repeat RNA(rRNA)and an alterable spacer RNA(sRNA),which can guide the Cas12a effector to recognize and target DNA molecules of interest in both full-length and split *** herein demonstrated the split crRNA can be repurposed for RNA detection through serving the sRNA as an RNA *** by this phenomenon,we developed a Cas12a-based direct RNA detection method,known as split crRNA-motivated amplification-free RNA testing(SMART).We adopted SMART to detect both short-stranded and long-stranded RNA target using two Cas12a orthologs(LbCas12a and FnCas12a),and it showed more prominent ability in detecting short-stranded RNA than long-stranded *** potential mechanism revealed that RNA overhangs impede the RNA strand and dsDNA activator from accessing the catalytic site in the RuvC domain of the Cas12a effector,compromising the stability of the quaternary complex,and thus reducing the efficiency of ***,by simply introducing a short DNA activator,SMART could detect attomolar miRNA targets and femtomolar long-stranded RNA target without the need for additional preamplification or reverse transcription *** addition,SMART showed wonderful discrimination ability toward single-nucleotide ***,the collaboration of SMART with the CRISPR–Cas13a system enabled simultaneous detection of multiplex ***,SMART is a simple,yet potent tool that can be flexibly applied to various short-stranded RNA detection,and holds great potential to be extended to other Cas12 orthologs.

Critical station identification of metro networks based on the integrated topological-functional algorithm:A case study of Chengdu

As a key mode of transportation, urban metro networks have significantly enhanced urban traffic environments and travel efficiency, making the identification of critical stations within these networks increasingly essential. This study presents a novel integrated topological-functional(ITF) algorithm for identifying critical nodes, combining topological metrics such as K-shell decomposition, node information entropy, and neighbor overlapping interaction with the functional attributes of passenger flow operations, while also considering the coupling effects between metro and bus networks. Using the Chengdu metro network as a case study, the effectiveness of the algorithm under different conditions is *** results indicate significant differences in passenger flow patterns between working and non-working days, leading to varying sets of critical nodes across these scenarios. Moreover, the ITF algorithm demonstrates a marked improvement in the accuracy of critical node identification compared to existing methods. This conclusion is supported by the analysis of changes in the overall network structure and relative global operational efficiency following targeted attacks on the identified critical nodes. The findings provide valuable insight into urban transportation planning, offering theoretical and practical guidance for improving metro network safety and resilience.

The study of high-energy gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts(GRBs) involves complex synchrotron radiation and synchrotron self-Compton(SSC) scattering mechanisms with multiple parameters exhibiting a wide distribution. Recent advancements in GRB research, particularly the observation of very high energy(VHE,>100 Ge V) radiation, have ushered in a new era of multiwavelength exploration, offering fresh perspectives and limitations for understanding GRB radiation mechanisms. This study aimed to leverage VHE observations to refine constraints on synchrotron + SSC radiation from electrons accelerated by forward shocks. By analyzing two external environments—the uniform interstellar medium and stratified stellar wind medium, we conducted spectral and variability fitting for five specific bursts(GRB 180720B, GRB 190114C, GRB 190829A, GRB 201216C, and GRB 221009A) to identify the optimal parameters characterizing these events. A comparative analysis of model parameter distributions with and without VHE radiation observations reveals that the magnetic energy equipartition factor εBis more concentrated with VHE emissions. This suggests that VHE emissions may offer greater constraints on this microphysical parameter. Additionally, we found that the energy budget between VHE and ke V–Me V γ-ray emissions under the SSC radiation exhibits an almost linear relationship, which may serve as a tool to differentiate radiation mechanisms. We anticipate future statistical analyses of additional VHE bursts to validate our findings.

The mutualistic symbiotic system formed by clumping arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)and plants can remediate heavy metal-contaminated ***,the specific mechanisms underlying the interaction between AMF and inter-root microbial communities,particularly their impact on organic phosphorus(P)cycling,remain *** study investigated the gene regulation processes involved in inter-root soil phosphorus cycling in wetland plants,specifically Iris tectorum,following inoculation with AMF under varying concentrations of chromium(Cr)*** macro-genome sequencing,we analyzed the composition and structure of the inter-root soil microbial community associated with Iris tectorum under greenhouse pot *** results demonstrated significant changes in the diversity and composition of the inter-root soil microbial community following AMF inoculation,with Proteobacteria,Actinobacteria,Chloroflexi,Acidobacteria,and Bacteroidetes being the dominant *** Cr stress,species and gene co-occurrence network analysis revealed that AMF promoted the transformation process of organic phosphorus mineralization and facilitated inorganic phosphorus ***,network analysis of functional genes indicated strong aggregation of(pstS,pstA,pstC,***,phoR,pp-gppA)genes,which collectively enhanced phosphorus uptake by *** findings shed light on the inter-root soil phosphorus cycling process during the co-remediation of Cr-contaminated soil by AMF-Iris tectorum symbiosis,providing valuable theoretical support for the application of AMF-wetland plant symbiosis systems to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soil.
