The strained cyclopropane and/or cyclobutane subunits occurred in many complex natural products including terpenoids, steroids and alkaloids. Natural products with cyclopropane and/or cyclobutane motifs not only furnished fascinating structures, but also exhibited versatile biological activities, such as cytotoxic, anti-HIM antimicrobial, antiviral, and immunosuppressive effects. This review covered a large array of structurally unique natural products with strained cyclopropane and/or cyclobutane motifs and summarized their structural features, distributions, biological activities, as well as biogenetic considerations.

Internal diffusion of molecules in porous materials plays an important role in many chemical ***, the pore diffusion capacity of porous materials cannot be measured by conventional catalyst characterization methods. In the present paper, a pore diffusion factor, the ratio of the diffusionconstriction factor to the pore tortuosity of the porous materials, was proposed to measure the diffusion ability of pores inside solid materials, and a method was proposed for measuring the diffusion factor using a well-defined and uniform pore size material as a reference. The diffusion factor was calculated based on the effective diffusion coefficients and the diffusion-constriction factor and pore tortuosity of the reference porous materials. The pore diffusion factor measurement can be performed at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. The pore diffusion factor of conventional porous materials was found to be much smaller than 1, indicating that there is a lot of room for improving the diffusion ability of the conventional catalysts and adsorbents, and could be significantly increased through adding small number of fibers into the conventional porous materials as template.

Cubic boron nitride single crystals are synthesized with lithium nitride as a catalyst under high pressure and high temperature. The main phases in the near-surface region, which around the single crystal are determined as a mixture of hexagonal boron nitride （hBN）, cubic boron nitride （cBN） and lithium boron nitride （Li3BN2）. High resolution transmission electron microscopy examinations show that there exist lots of nanometer-sized cubic boron nitride nuclei in this region. The interface phase structures of cubic boron nitride crystal and its near-surface region are investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy. The growth mechanism of cubic boron nitride crystal is analyzed briefly. It is supposed that LisBN2 impels the direct conversion of hBN to cBN as a real catalyst, and cBN is homogeneously nucleated in the molten state under high pressure and high temperature.

The collective behaviors of populations of coupled oscillators have attracted significant attention in recent years. In this paper, an order parameter approach is proposed to study the low-dimensional dynamical mechanism of collective synchronizations, by adopting the star-topology of coupled oscil- lators as a prototype system. The order parameter equation of star-linked phase oscillators can be obtained in terms of the Watanabe--Strogatz transformation, Ott--Antonsen ansatz, and the ensem- ble order parameter approach. Different solutions of the order parameter equation correspond to the diverse collective states, and different bifurcations reveal various transitions among these collective states. The properties of various transitions in the star-network model are revealed by using tools of nonlinear dynamics such as time reversibility analysis and linear stability analysis.

Using coinage metal （Cu（Ⅱ）, Ag（Ⅰ）） hinges, two sets of heterometallic molecular capsules with analogous open-ended cavities were prepared based on the half-sandwich rhodium fragments. In the case of [Rh4Cu4] cages, up to six-fold-stacked host-guest structures were formed by varying the cavity＇s dimensions. Moreover, the series of capsules were demonstrated to self-fine-tune to form multi-heteroguest arrays via favourable donor-acceptor interactions and Ag-π interactions, as evidenced from single-crystal X-ray analysis.

Our previous studies showed that miR-23b was downregulated in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH). This indicates that miR-23b may be closely related to the patho-physiological mechanism of ICH, but this hypothesis lacks direct evidence. In this study, we established rat models of ICH by injecting collagenase Ⅶ into the right basal ganglia and treating them with an injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell(BMSC)-derived exosomal miR-23b via the tail vein. We found that edema in the rat brain was markedly reduced and rat behaviors were improved after BMSC exosomal miR-23b injection compared with those in the ICH groups. Additionally, exosomal miR-23b was transported to the microglia/macrophages, thereby reducing oxidative stress and pyroptosis after ICH. We also used hemin to mimic ICH conditions in vitro. We found that phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10(PTEN) was the downstream target gene of miR-23b, and exosomal miR-23b exhibited antioxidant effects by regulating the PTEN/Nrf2 pathway. Moreover, miR-23b reduced PTEN binding to NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) and NLRP3 inflammasome activation, thereby decreasing the NLRP3-dependent pyroptosis level. These findings suggest that BMSC-derived exosomal miR-23b exhibits antioxidant effects through inhibiting PTEN and alleviating NLRP3 inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis, thereby promoting neurologic function recovery in rats with ICH.

Background Proton pump inhibitors(PPIs) are recommended by the latest guidelines to reduce the risk of bleeding in acute myocardial infarction(AMI) patients treated with dual antiplatelet therapy(DAPT). However, previous pharmacodynamic and clinical studies have reported controversial results on the interaction between PPI and the P2 Y12 inhibitor clopidogrel. We investigated the impact of PPIs use on in-hospital outcomes in AMI patients, aiming to provide a new insight on the value of PPIs. Methods A total of 23,380 consecutive AMI patients who received clopidogrel with or without PPIs in the China Acute Myocardial Infarction(CAMI) registry were analyzed. The primary endpoint was major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events(MACCE) defined as a composite of in-hospital cardiac death, re-infarction and stroke. Propensity score matching(PSM) was used to control potential baseline confounders. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate the effect of PPIs use on MACCE and gastrointestinal bleeding(GIB). Results Among the whole AMI population, a large majority received DAPT and 67.5% were co-medicated with PPIs. PPIs use was associated with a decreased risk of MACCE(Before PSM OR: 0.857, 95% CI: 0.742-0.990, P = 0.0359;after PSM OR: 0.862, 95% CI: 0.768-0.949, P = 0.0245) after multivariate adjustment. Patients receiving PPIs also had a lower risk of cardiac death but a higher risk of complicating with stroke. When GIB occurred, an alleviating trend of GIB severity was observed in PPIs group. Conclusions Our study is the first nation-wide large-scale study to show evidence on PPIs use in AMI patients treated with DAPT. We found that PPIs in combination with clopidogrel was associated with decreased risk for MACCE in AMI patients, and it might have a trend to mitigate GIB severity. Therefore, PPIs could become an available choice for AMI patients during hospitalization.
