T-2 toxin is one of the most widespread and toxic fungal toxins in food and feed. It can cause gastrointestinal toxicity, hepatotoxicity, immunotoxicity, reproductive toxicity, neurotoxicity, and nephrotoxicity in humans and animals. T-2 toxin is physicochemically stable and does not readily degrade during food and feed processing. Therefore, suppressing T-2 toxin-induced organ toxicity through antidotes is an urgent issue. Protective agents against the organ toxicity of T-2 toxin have been recorded widely in the literature, but these protective agents and their molecular mechanisms of detoxification have not been comprehensively summarized. In this review, we provide an overview of the various protective agents to T-2 toxin and the molecular mechanisms underlying the detoxification effects. Targeting appropriate targets to antagonize T-2 toxin toxicity is also an important option. This review will provide essential guidance and strategies for the better application and development of T-2 toxin antidotes specific for organ toxicity in the future.

Numerical study on the cavity dynamics for vertical water entries of twin spheres

In this study, a three dimensional(3D) numerical model of six-degrees-of-freedom(6DOF) is applied to simulate the water entries of twin spheres side-by-side at different lateral distances and time intervals.The turbulence structure is described using the shear-stress transport k-ω(SST k-ω) model, and the volume of fluid(VOF) method is used to track the complex air-liquid interface. The motion of spheres during water entry is simulated using an independent overset grid. The numerical model is verified by comparing the cavity evolution results from simulations and experiments. Numerical results reveal that the time interval between the twin water entries evidently affects cavity expansion and contraction behaviors in the radial direction. However, this influence is significantly weakened by increasing the lateral distance between the two spheres. In synchronous water entries, pressure is reduced on the midline of two cavities during surface closure, which is directly related to the cavity volume. The evolution of vortexes inside the two cavities is analyzed using a velocity vector field, which is affected by the lateral distance and time interval of water entries.

Low thermal conductivity,compatible thermal expansion coefficient,and good calcium–magnesium–aluminosilicate(CMAS)corrosion resistance are critical requirements for environmental barrier coatings used on silicon-based ceramics.RE2Si2O7(RE=rare earth)has been widely recognized as one of the most promising candidates for environmental barrier coatings due to its good water vapor corrosion resistance.However,the relatively high thermal conductivity and poor resistance to CMAS corrosion have limited its practical application.Inspired by the high entropy effect,in this work,a novel rare earth disilicate(Lu_(_(1/7))Yb_(_(1/7))Sc_(_(1/7))Er_(_(1/7))Y_(_(1/7))Ho_(_(1/7))Dy_(_(1/7)))2Si2O7((7RE_(_(1/7)))2Si2O7)has been designed and synthesized by a solid reaction process.(7RE_(_(1/7)))2Si2O7 showed a low thermal conductivity of 1.81 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1)at 1273 K.Furthermore,the thermal expansion coefficient of(7RE_(_(1/7)))_(2)Si_(2)O_(7)(4.07×10^(−6)℃^(−1)from room temperature(RT)to 1400℃)is close to that of the SiC-based ceramic matrix composites(SiC-CMCs)((4.5–5.5)×10^(−6)℃^(−1)).Additionally,(7RE_(_(1/7)))2Si2O7 exhibited excellent resistance to CMAS corrosion.When exposed to CMAS at 1300℃for 48 h,the reaction layer thickness was 22μm.The improved performance of(7RE_(_(1/7)))2Si2O7 highlights its potential as a promising candidate for thermal/environmental barrier coatings.

Accurately picking P-and S-wave arrivals of microseismic(MS)signals in real-time directly influences the early warning of rock mass failure.A common contradiction between accuracy and computation exists in the current arrival picking methods.Thus,a real-time arrival picking method of MS signals is constructed based on a convolutional-recurrent neural network(CRNN).This method fully utilizes the advantages of convolutional layers and gated recurrent units(GRU)in extracting short-and long-term features,in order to create a precise and lightweight arrival picking structure.Then,the synthetic signals with field noises are used to evaluate the hyperparameters of the CRNN model and obtain an optimal CRNN model.The actual operation on various devices indicates that compared with the U-Net method,the CRNN method achieves faster arrival picking with less performance consumption.An application of large underground caverns in the Yebatan hydropower station(YBT)project shows that compared with the short-term average/long-term average(STA/LTA),Akaike information criterion(AIC)and U-Net methods,the CRNN method has the highest accuracy within four sampling points,which is 87.44%for P-wave and 91.29%for S-wave,respectively.The sum of mean absolute errors(MAESUM)of the CRNN method is 4.22 sampling points,which is lower than that of the other methods.Among the four methods,the MS sources location calculated based on the CRNN method shows the best consistency with the actual failure,which occurs at the junction of the shaft and the second gallery.Thus,the proposed method can pick up P-and S-arrival accurately and rapidly,providing a reference for rock failure analysis and evaluation in engineering applications.

Aerodynamic surrogate modeling mostly relies only on integrated loads data obtained from simulation or experiment,while neglecting and wasting the valuable distributed physical information on the surface.To make full use of both integrated and distributed loads,a modeling paradigm,called the heterogeneous data-driven aerodynamic modeling,is presented.The essential concept is to incorporate the physical information of distributed loads as additional constraints within the end-to-end aerodynamic modeling.Towards heterogenous data,a novel and easily applicable physical feature embedding modeling framework is designed.This framework extracts lowdimensional physical features from pressure distribution and then effectively enhances the modeling of the integrated loads via feature embedding.The proposed framework can be coupled with multiple feature extraction methods,and the well-performed generalization capabilities over different airfoils are verified through a transonic case.Compared with traditional direct modeling,the proposed framework can reduce testing errors by almost 50%.Given the same prediction accuracy,it can save more than half of the training samples.Furthermore,the visualization analysis has revealed a significant correlation between the discovered low-dimensional physical features and the heterogeneous aerodynamic loads,which shows the interpretability and credibility of the superior performance offered by the proposed deep learning framework.

Devices that surpass the restriction of reciprocity of classical physical waves have brought intriguing possibilities for wave modulation.Non-reciprocal acoustic devices that rely on the viscosity of the medium or nonlinear effect have low efficiency and distortion problems respectively,and poor immunity to defects.The appearance of acoustic topological insulators achieves nonreciprocal transport with high robustness.However,the local nature of topological states means that their appearance depends on a system with a larger dimension.That is,most of the area of a topological device is occupied by useless lattices that do not directly contribute to non-reciprocal transport.The extra cost of topology protection severely limits the application scenarios of topology states,decreases the cost-effectiveness of topology devices,and is not conducive to device miniaturization and integration.In this work,we construct an acoustic three-layer heterojunction by introducing two types of domain walls into a conventional quantum Hall effect acoustic topological insulator,and successfully construct a non-reciprocal scattering network that forms topological modes spanning the interlayer domain.These extended states are still protected by bulk-band topology,making their non-reciprocity robust against disorder.This structure flawlessly realizes the path broadening in a two-dimensional topological system and can accomplish functions such as non-reciprocal acoustic splitting and multichannel transmission.Our work opens up opportunities for developing topological-insulator-based non-reciprocal devices in acoustics.

A shallow crustal velocity structure(above 10 km depth) is essential for understanding the crustal structures and deformation and assessing the exploration prospect of natural resources, and also provides priori information for imaging deeper crustal and mantle structure. Passive-source seismic methods are cost-effective and advantageous for regional-scale imaging of shallow crustal structures compared to active-source methods. Among these passive methods, techniques utilizing receiver function waveforms and/or body-wave amplitude ratios have recently gained prominence due to their relatively high spatial resolution. However, in basin regions, reverberations caused by near-surface unconsolidated sedimentary layers often introduce strong non-uniqueness and uncertainty, limiting the applicability of such methods. To address these challenges, we propose a two-step inversion method that uses multi-frequency P-RF waveforms and P-RF horizontal-to-vertical amplitude ratios. Synthetic tests indicate that our two-step inversion method can mitigate the non-uniqueness of the inversion and enhance the stability of the results. Applying this method to teleseismic data from a linear seismic array across the sedimentary basins in Northeast China, we obtain a high-resolution image of the shallow crustal S-wave velocity structure along the array. Our results reveal significant differences between the basins and mountains. The identification of low-velocity anomalies(<2.8 km s^(-1)) at depths less than 1.0 km beneath the Erlian Basin and less than 2.5 km beneath the Songliao Basin suggests the existence of sedimentary layers. Moreover, the high-velocity anomalies(~3.4–3.8 km s^(-1)) occurring at depths greater than 7 km in the Songliao Basin may reflect mafic intrusions emplaced during the Early Cretaceous. Velocity anomaly distribution in our imaging result is consistent with the location of the major faults, uplifts, and sedimentary depressions, as well as active-source seismic results. As a typical nonlinear wave,forward-leaning waves can be frequently encountered in the near-shore areas,which can impact coastal sediment transport significantly.Hence,it is of significance to describe the characteristics of the boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves accurately,especially for the turbulent boundary layer.In this work,the linearized turbulent boundary layer model with a linear turbulent viscosity coefficient is applied,and the novel expression of the near-bed orbital velocity that has been worked out by the authors for forward-leaning waves of arbitrary forward-leaning degrees is further used to specify the free stream boundary condition of the bottom boundary layer.Then,a variable transformation is found so as to make the equation of the turbulent boundary layer model be solved analytically through a modified Bessel function.Consequently,an explicit analytical solution of the turbulent boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves is derived by means of variable separation and variable transformation.The analytical solutions of the velocity profile and bottom shear stress of the turbulent boundary layer beneath forward-leaning waves are verified by comparing the present analytical results with typical experimental data available in the previous literature.

Conductive and stable polyphenylene/CNT composite membrane for electrically enhanced membrane fouling mitigation

Nanocarbon-based conductive membranes, especially carbon nanotube (CNT)-based membranes, have tremendous potential for wastewater treatment and water purification because of their excellent water permeability and selectivity, as well as their electrochemically enhanced performance (e.g., improved antifouling ability). However, it remains challenging to prepare CNT membranes with high structural stability and high electrical conductivity. In this study, a highly electroconductive and structurally stable polyphenylene/CNT (PP/CNT) composite membrane was prepared by electropolymerizing biphenyl on a CNT hollow fiber membrane. The PP/CNT membrane showed 3.4 and 5.0 times higher electrical conductivity than pure CNT and poly(vinyl alcohol)/CNT (PVA/CNT) membranes, respectively. The structural stability of the membrane was superior to that of the pure CNT membrane and comparable to that of the PVA/CNT membrane. The membrane fouling was significantly alleviated under an electrical assistance of −2.0 V, with a flux loss of only 11.7% after 5 h filtration of humic acid, which is significantly lower than those of PP/CNT membranes without electro-assistance (56.8%) and commercial polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes (64.1%). Additionally, the rejection of negatively charged pollutants (humic acid and sodium alginate) was improved by the enhanced electrostatic repulsion. After four consecutive filtration-cleaning cycle tests, the flux recovery rate after backwashing reached 97.2%, which was much higher than those of electricity-free PP/CNT membranes (67.0%) and commercial PVDF membranes (61.1%). This study offers insights into the preparation of stable conductive membranes for membrane fouling control in potential water treatment applications.

tThe tumor suppressor p53 is the most common mutated gene in cancer,with the R175H as the most frequent p53 missense mutant.However,there are currently no approved targeted therapies or immunotherapies against mutant p53.Here,we characterized and inves-tigated a monoclonal antibody(mAb)that recognizes the mutant p53-R175H for its affinity,specificity,and activity against tumor cells in vitro.We then delivered DNA plasmids expres-sing the anti-R175H mAb or a bispecific antibody(BsAb)into mice to evaluate their therapeutic effects.Our results showed that the anti-R175H mAb specifically bound to the p53-R175H an-tigen with a high affinity and recognized the human mutant p53-R175H antigen expressed on HEK293T or MC38 cells,with no cross-reactivity with wild-type p53.In cultured cells,the anti-R175H mAb showed higher cytotoxicity than the control but did not induce antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity.We made a recombinant MC38 mouse cell line(MC38-p53-R175H)that overexpressed the human p53-R175H after knocking out the endogenous mutant p53 alleles.In vivo,administration of the anti-R175H mAb plasmid elicited a robust anti-tumor effect against MC38-p53-R175H in mice.The administration of the anti-R175H BsAb plasmid showed no therapeutic effects,yet potent anti-tumor activity was observed in combination with the anti-PD-1 antibody.These results indicate that targeting specific mutant epitopes using DNA-delivered mAbs or BsAbs presents a form of improved natural immunity derived from tumor-infiltrating B cells and plasma cells against intracellular tumor antigens.
