Vanadium flow battery(VFB)is one of the most promising energy storage technologies because of its superior safety,reliability and cycle life,but the poor electrochemical performance at high cur-rent density limits its commercial application.Herein,an advanced design of the dual-gradient carbon nanofibers/graphite felt(DG-CNFs/GF)composite electrode is firstly proposed for the next-generation VFB with high power density.Specifically,there is a macro gradient distribution of CNFs along the thickness direction of the electrode,meanwhile a micro gradient distribution of CNFs is also existed along the ra-dial direction of a single fiber,and both the macro and micro gradient structure are verified through the physicochemical characterizations.In addition,the DG-CNFs/GF with a dual-gradient structure exhibits an excellent electrocatalytic activity and a fast mass transfer characteristic.It is worth noting that the energy conversion efficiencies,cycling stability in addition to power density of VFB with DG-CNFs/GF are much better than those with commercial GF,which make the dual-gradient DG-CNFs/GF to be a promis-ing alternative.Most importantly,the accomplishment of this work will provide a promising development direction of the highly efficient electrode for the next-generation VFB with high power density.

Submarine maneuverability has been analyzed by means of computational fluid dynamics(CFD).This approach provides an alternative,accurate,and cost-effective method for simulating actual flow.The numerical results show that the numerical simulation of the viscous flow related to a moving submarine based on the RANS equation with a relevant turbulence model can not only provide rich flow field details such as flow separation,but also accurately predict its hydrodynamic performance.The present study indicates that CFD can be used to forecast the submarine’s maneuverability in the initial design stage.The present results will be used in the future as a basis for analyzing methods to reduce the vibration and noise generated by the submarine.

OBJECTIVE To determine whether high-risk patients with three-vessel disease(TVD)with and without prior stroke preferen-tially benefit from three strategies[percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI),coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG)and medical therapy(MT)].METHODS A total of 8943 patients with TVD were included in the study.Patients enrolled were stratified into two categories according to the presence or absence of prior stroke history.The primary endpoint was all-cause death.Secondary endpoints in-cluded stroke and major adverse cardiac and cerebrovascular event(MACCE),a composite of death,myocardial infarction(MI),unplanned revascularization and stroke.RESULTS Prior stroke was present in 888 patients(9.9%).These patients were older and had higher rates of comorbidities.Du-ring a median follow-up of 7.5 years,patients with prior stroke were strongly associated with increased risks of all-cause death,cardiac death,stroke and MACCE,even after adjusting for confounding variables and results been consistent across either treat-ment subgroup(PCI,CABG and MT)(all adjusted P<0.01).Notably,there was a significant interaction between prior stroke his-tory and treatment strategies.Revascularization strategy(PCI or CABG)was associated with a lower incidence of all-cause death and MACCE compared with MT alone,and favorable rates of MACCE,MI and unplanned revascularization in the CABG group compared with the PCI group,but with similar rate of all-cause death regardless of prior stroke history.The prevalence of stroke was significantly higher after CABG when compared with PCI or MT in no prior stroke patients[hazard ratio(HR)=1.429,95%CI:1.132-1.805 for CABG vs.MT;HR=1.703,95%CI:1.371-2.116 for CABG vs.PCI].CONCLUSIONS Patients with TVD and prior stroke have poor clinical outcomes.It is essential to balance benefit and risk when determining the optimal treatment strategy for TVD with and without prior stroke.

It is estimated that 15% of traffic accidents cause trauma to large vessels. In about 70%-95% of cases, aortic rupture took place in the distal ligament of the left subclavian artery, whereas in the remaining cases rupture occurred in the ascending aorta above the aortic valve. Trauma to the aortic sinus and coronary arteries is rarely found in traffic accident victims. Therefore, coronary artery trauma is often misdiagnosed as coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. The present case is a 42 years old male who survived from a traffic accident. He presented with aortic sinus and left coronary artery trauma. He was misdiagnosed as having coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, and therefore wrongly given antiplatelet medicine, such as aspirin, in another hospital. Definite diagnosis was achieved in our hospital, and the patient underwent Bentall and mitral valve replacement, as well as tricuspid valvuloplasty. The aortic occlusion time during surgery was 47 min, and the total cardiopulmonary bypass time was 63 min. After surgery, transthoracic echocardiography confirmed that all the artificial valves worked sufficiently. The patient felt good and symptoms such as asthma and decreased exercise tolerance disappeared. This case taught us that acute aortic syndrome cannot be ignored when patients present with pectoralgia; antiplatelet medication should not be given before definite diagnosis.

Oligopeptide self-assembly materials have emerged as a promising class of biomaterials with diverse applications in biomedicine.This review highlights the recent progress in comprehending the selfassembly mechanisms intrinsic to oligopeptides and their behavior in response to specific stimuli.By methodically structuring the amino acid sequence and managing external stimuli such as pH levels,redox conditions,or enzymatic activity,we can exercise unprecedented control over the self-assembly process.By controlling the self-assembly process of oligopeptides,various structures with extraordinary versatility can be obtained,including micelles,nanofibers,and coacervate droplets,each possessing modifiable mechanical and chemical properties.Furthermore,these self-assembled constructs demonstrate immense potential within varied biomedical applications.The stimuli-sensitive nature of oligopeptide assembly materials facilitates timely encapsulation and release of therapeutic cargos,consequently eliciting desired cellular responses.This approach paves the way for more precise tumor targeting,personalized medicinal treatments,and well-regulated drug dispensation.Their innate biocompatibility and proficiency in replicating the extracellular matrix(ECM)render them ideally suited for applications such as tissue engineering,wound remediation,and regenerative medicine.In summary,oligopeptide self-assembling materials show tremendous potential as adaptable platforms for cutting-edge biomedical applications,thereby bridging the divide between fundamental research and practical clinical application.

Cervical spondylotic myelopathy is the main cause of non-traumatic spinal cord injury,with chronic static and/or dynamic compressive spinal cord injury as the unique pathogenesis.In the progression of this condition,the microvascular network is compressed and destroyed,resulting in ischemia and hypoxia.The main pathological changes are inflammation,damage to the blood spinal cord barriers,and cell apoptosis at the site of compression.Studies have confirmed that vascular regeneration and remodeling contribute to neural repair by promoting blood flow and the reconstruction of effective circulation to meet the nutrient and oxygen requirements for nerve repair.Surgical decompression is the most effective clinical treatment for this condition;however,in some patients,residual neurological dysfunction remains after decompression.Facilitating revascularization during compression and after decompression is therefore complementary to surgical treatment.In this review,we summarize the progress in research on chronic compressive spinal cord injury,covering both physiological and pathological changes after compression and decompression,and the regulatory mechanisms of vascular injury and repair.

Polymer solid-state lithium batteries(SSLB)are regarded as a promising energy storage technology to meet growing demand due to their high energy density and safety.Ion conductivity,interface stability and battery assembly process are still the main challenges to hurdle the commercialization of SSLB.As the main component of SSLB,poly(1,3-dioxolane)(PDOL)-based solid polymer electrolytes polymerized in-situ are becoming a promising candidate solid elec-trolyte,for their high ion conductivity at room temperature,good battery elec-trochemical performances,and simple assembly process.This review analyzes opportunities and challenges of PDOL electrolytes toward practical application for polymer SSLB.The focuses include exploring the polymerization mechanism of DOL,the performance of PDOL composite electrolytes,and the application of PDOL.Furthermore,we provide a perspective on future research directions that need to be emphasized for commercialization of PDOL-based electrolytes in SSLB.The exploration of these schemes facilitates a comprehensive and profound understanding of PDOL-based polymer electrolyte and provides new research ideas to boost them toward practical application in solid-state batteries.

Catalytic ozonation technology has attracted copious attention in water purification owing to its favorable oxidative degradation of pollutants and mitigation of membrane fouling capacity.However,its extensive industrial application has been restricted by the low ozone utilization and limited mass transfer of the short-lived radical species.Interlayer space-confined catalysis has been theoretically proven to be a viable strategy for achieving high catalytic efficiency.Here,a two-dimensional MnO_(2)-incorporated ceramic membrane with tunable interspacing,which was obtained via the intercalation of a carbon nanotube,was designed as a catalytic ozonation membrane reactor for degrading methylene blue.Benefiting from the abundant catalytic active sites on the surface of two-dimensional MnO_(2) as well as the ultralow mass transfer resistance of fluids due to the nanolayer confinement,an excellent mineralization effect,i.e.,1.2 mg O_(3)(aq)mg^(-1) TOC removal(a total organic carbon removal rate of 71.5%),was achieved within a hydraulic retention time of 0.045 s of pollutant degradation.Further,the effects of hydraulic retention time and interlayer spacing on methylene blue removal were investigated.Moreover,the mechanism of the catalytic ozonation employing catalytic ozonation membrane was proposed based on the contribution of the Mn(III/IV)redox pair to electron transfer to generate the reactive oxygen species.This innovative twodimensional confinement catalytic ozonation membrane could act as a nanoreactor and separator to efficiently oxidize organic pollutants and enhance the control of membrane fouling during water purification.

order to help investors understand the credit status of target corporations and reduce investment risks,the corporate credit rating model has become an important evaluation tool in the financial market.These models are based on statistical learning,machine learning and deep learning especially graph neural networks(GNNs).However,we found that only few models take the hierarchy,heterogeneity or unlabeled data into account in the actual corporate credit rating process.Therefore,we propose a novel framework named hierarchical heterogeneous graph neural networks(HHGNN),which can fully model the hierarchy of corporate features and the heterogeneity of relationships between corporations.In addition,we design an adversarial learning block to make full use of the rich unlabeled samples in the financial data.Extensive experiments conducted on the public-listed corporate rating dataset prove that HHGNN achieves SOTA compared to the baseline methods.

Suppose that G is a planar cubic graph withχi(G)>5.We show that ifχi(H)<χi(G)for each planar cubic graph H of order less thanG,thenG is either a 3-connected simple planar cubic graph,or a planar graph obtained from a simple cubic 3-connected planar graph by adding some earrings.This shows that a minimum non-5-injectively colorable simple planar cubic graph must be 3-connected.
