Interfacial reaction between AZ91D magnesium alloy melt and mild steel under high temperature

The metallurgical quality control of magnesium(Mg)and Mg alloys in melting process is required to ensure a satisfied mechanical and corrosion performance,while the typical used steel crucible introduces impurities and interfacial interaction during melting ***,a systematic study about impurities diffusion and interfacial interaction between molten Mg and steel is *** the present study,the interfacial reaction between molten AZ91D Mg alloy and mild steel during melting process was investigated with the melting temperatures of 700℃,750℃ and 800℃.The results show that Al(Fe,Mn)intermetallic layer is the intermetallic primarily formed at the interfaces of AZ91D melt and mild ***,Al_(8)(Mn,Fe)5is indexed between Al(Fe,Mn)and ***_(3)C appears between the mild steel and Al(Fe,Mn)at 700℃ and 750℃,but absent at 800℃ due to the increased solubility of carbon in Mg *** is found that the growth of the intermetallic layer is controlled by diffusion mechanism,and Al and Mn are the dominant diffusing species in the whole interfacial reaction *** measuring the thickness of different layers,the growth constant was *** increases from 1.89(±0.03)×10^(-12)m^(2)·s^(-1)at 700℃ to 3.05(±0.05)×10^(-12)m^(2)·s^(-1)at 750℃,and 5.18(±0.05)×10^(-12)m^(2)·s^(-1)at 800℃.Meanwhile,the content of Fe is linearly increased in AZ91D with the increase of holding time at 700℃ and 750℃,while it shows a significantly increment after holding for 8 h at 800℃,indicating holding temperature is more crucial to determine the Fe content of AZ91D than holding time.

Diabetes mellitus in patients with type 1 autoimmune pancreatitis at diagnosis and after corticosteroid therapy

Background:A high prevalence of diabetes mellitus(DM)coexisting with autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP)is ***,evidence on the circumstances under which corticosteroid therapy(CST)for AIP improves or worsens DM is *** study aimed to demonstrate and identify predictors of DM control under the influence of ***:Patients diagnosed with type 1 AIP were enrolled from a prospectively maintained cohort and were classified into three groups according to the chronology in which AIP and DM were diagnosed:pre-existing DM(pDM),concurrent DM(cDM),and non-DM(nDM).The responses of DM to CST were assessed when corticosteroid was ceased or tapered to a maintenance dose and classified as‘improvement’and‘non-improvement’(including‘no change’and‘exacerbation’).Results:Among 101 patients with type 1 AIP,52(51.5%)patients were complicated with DM at the time of AIP diagnosis,with 36 patients in the cDM group and 16 patients in the pDM *** incidences of diffuse pancreatic swelling(72.2%)and pancreatic body/tail involvement(91.7%)were significantly higher in the cDM group than in both the pDM and nDM *** the 52 patients with DM,CST was administered in 48 *** logistic analysis identified that elevated serum gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)level at AIP diagnosis[odds ratio(OR)=0.032,95%confidence interval(CI):0.003-0.412,P=0.008]and pancreatic atrophy after CST(OR=0.027,95%CI:0.003-0.295,P=0.003)were negatively associated with DM control ***:Patients with diffuse pancreatic swelling and pancreatic body/tail involvement in pancreatitis tended to be complicated with cDM at AIP *** exerted a beneficial effect on the clinical course of DM in nearly half of the AIP patients complicated with DM at diagnosis,particularly in those without elevated serum GGT levels at diagnosis and who did not experience pancreatic atrophy after CST.

Aflatoxin B_(1)(AFB_(1))is a naturally-occurring mycotoxin and recognized as the most toxic foodborne toxin,particularly causing damages to *** podocytes are terminally differentiated epithelial ***_(1)induces podocyte inflammation,proteinuria and renal *** the mechanism of AFB_(1)-induced podocyte inflammation and murine kidney dysfunction,we detected that AFB_(1)increased ubiquitindependent degradation of the transcription factor RelA through enhanced interaction of RelA with E3 ubiquitin ligase tripartite motif containing 7(TRIM7)in mouse podocyte clone-5(MPC-5)and mouse *** of RelA resulted in decreasing microRNA-9(miR-9)and activating the chemokine receptor 4(CXCR4),thioredoxin interacting protein(TXNIP),and NOD-like receptor pyrin domain-containing 3(NLRP3)signaling axis(CXCR4/TXNIP/NLRP3 pathway),leading to podocyte *** also determined that downregulation of miR-9 led to CXCR4 expression and the downstream TXNIP/NLRP3 pathway *** of miR-9 or deletion of CXCR4 suppressed AFB_(1)-induced CXCR4/TXNIP/NLRP3 pathway,resulting in alleviating podocyte inflammation and kidney *** findings indicated that ubiquitin-dependent proteolysis of RelA,downregulation of miR-9,and activation of CXCR4/TXNIP/NLRP3 pathway played an essential role in AFB_(1)-induced glomerular podocyte *** study revealed a novel mechanism,via RelA,for the control of AFB_(1)’s nephrotoxicity,leading to an effective protection of food safety and public health.

MXene,a transition metal carbide/nitride,has been prominent as an ideal electrochemical active material for ***,the low MXene load limits its practical *** environmental concerns and sustainable development become more widely recognized,it is necessary to explore a greener and cleaner technology to recycle textile by-products such as *** present study proposes an effective 3D fabrication method that uses MXene to fabricate waste denim felt into ultralight and flexible supercapacitors through needling and *** 3D structure provided more sites for loading MXene onto Z-directional fiber bundles,resulting in more efficient ion exchange between the electrolyte and ***,the carbonization process removed the specific adverse groups in MXenes,further improving the specific capacitance,energy density,power density and electrical conductivity of *** electrodes achieve a maximum specific capacitance of 1748.5 mF cm-2 and demonstrate remarkable cycling stability maintaining more than 94%after 15,000 galvanostatic charge/discharge ***,the obtained supercapacitors present a maximum specific capacitance of 577.5 mF cm^(-2),energy density of 80.2μWh cm^(-2)and power density of 3 mW cm^(-2),*** resulting supercapacitors can be used to develop smart wearable power devices such as smartwatches,laying the foundation for a novel strategy of utilizing waste cotton in a high-quality manner.

For real-time dynamic substructure testing(RTDST),the influence of the inertia force of fluid specimens on the stability and accuracy of the integration algorithms has never been ***,this study proposes to investigate the stability and accuracy of the central difference method(CDM)for RTDST considering the specimen mass participation ***,the theory of the CDM for RTDST is ***,the stability and accuracy of the CDM for RTDST considering the specimen mass participation coefficient are ***,numerical simulations and experimental tests are conducted for verifying the effectiveness of the *** study indicates that the stability of the algorithm is affected by the mass participation coefficient of the specimen,and the stability limit first increases and then decreases as the mass participation coefficient *** most cases,the mass participation coefficient will increase the stability limit of the algorithm,but in specific circumstances,the algorithm may lose its *** stability and accuracy of the CDM considering the mass participation coefficient are verified by numerical simulations and experimental tests on a three-story frame structure with a tuned liquid damper.

Coordinated Dispatch Based on Distributed Robust Optimization for Interconnected Urban Integrated Energy and Transmission Systems

To improve the economic efficiency of urban integrated energy systems(UIESs)and mitigate day-ahead dispatch uncertainty,this paper presents an interconnected UIES and transmission system(TS)model based on distributed robust ***,interconnections are established between a TS and multiple UIESs,as well as among different UIESs,each incorporating multiple energy *** Bregman alternating direction method with multipliers(BADMM)is then applied to multi-block problems,ensuring the privacy of each energy system operator(ESO).Second,robust optimization based on wind probability distribution information is implemented for each ESO to address dispatch *** column and constraint generation(C&CG)algorithm is then employed to solve the robust ***,to tackle the convergence and practicability issues overlooked in the existing studies,an external C&CG with an internal BADMM and corresponding acceleration strategy is ***,numerical results demonstrate that the adoption of the proposed model and method for absorbing wind power and managing its uncertainty results in economic benefits.

Integrated power-gas systems(IPGS)have developed critical infrastructure in integrated energy ***,various extreme weather events with low probability and high risk have seriously affected the stable operation of *** to close interconnectedness through coupling elements between the power system(PS)and natural gas system(NGS)when a disturbance happens in one system,a series of complicated sequences of dependent events may follow in another *** under extreme conditions,this coupling can lead to a dramatic degradation of system performance,resulting in catastrophic ***,there is an urgent need to model and evaluate resilience of IPGSs under extreme *** this development trend,an integrated model for resilience evaluation of IPGS is proposed under extreme weather events focusing on ***,a framework of IPGS is proposed to describe states of the system at different stages under disaster ***,an evaluation model considering cascading effects is used to quantify the impact of windstorms on NGS and ***,a Monte Carlo simulation(MCS)technique is utilized to characterize chaotic fault of ***,time-dependent nodal and system resilience indices for IPGS are proposed to display impacts of *** results on the IPGS test system demonstrate the proposed methods.

Collaborative Charging Scheduling in Wireless Charging Sensor Networks

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have the trouble of limited battery power, and wireless charging provides apromising solution to this problem, which is not easily affected by the external environment. In this paper, we studythe recharging of sensors in wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs) by scheduling two mobile chargers(MCs) to collaboratively charge sensors. We first formulate a novel sensor charging scheduling problem with theobjective of maximizing the number of surviving sensors, and further propose a collaborative charging schedulingalgorithm(CCSA) for WRSNs. In the scheme, the sensors are divided into important sensors and ordinary *** can adaptively collaboratively charge the sensors based on the energy limit ofMCs and the energy demandof sensors. Finally, we conducted comparative simulations. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithmcan effectively reduce the death rate of the sensor. The proposed algorithm provides a solution to the uncertaintyof node charging tasks and the collaborative challenges posed by multiple MCs in practical scenarios.

Advances in luminescence materials have markedly propelled research in light theranostics,spanning luminescence biosensing[1],in vivo optical imaging[2],photodynamic therapy[3],optogenetics[4],and related fields[5-7].Nevertheless,conventional light sources have limited penetration depths within deep tissues,and the current state of light theranostics in superficial tissues does not fulfill the requirements for deep tissue treatments in clinical applications.

Variable Selection for Interval-censored Failure Time Data under the Partly Linear Additive Generalized Odds Rate Model

Abstract This paper discusses variable selection for interval-censored failure time data, a general type of failure time data that commonly arise in many areas such as clinical trials and follow-up studies. Although some methods have been developed in the literature for the problem, most of the existing procedures apply only to specific models. In this paper, we consider the data arising from a general class of partly linear additive generalized odds rate models and propose a penalized variable selection approach through maximizing a derived penalized likelihood function. In the method, the Bernsetin polynomials are employed to approximate both the unknown baseline hazard functions and the nonlinear covariate effects functions, and for the implementation of the method, a coordinate descent algorithm is developed. Also the asymptotic properties of the proposed estimators, including the oracle property, are established. An extensive simulation study is conducted to assess the finite-sample performance of the proposed estimators and indicatesthat it works well in practice. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a set of real data on Alzheimer’s disease.
