Remote controlled soft actuators have attracted ever-increasing interest in industrial,medical,robotics,and engineering *** actuators are charming than normal tools in executing dedicate tasks due to small volume and flexible body they ***,it remains a challenge to design soft actuator that can adapt to multi-environments under remote stimuli with promising nano ***,we have developed a kind of near-infrared laser driven soft actuators with multi locomotive modes based on WSe2 and graphene nanosheets *** locomotion modes are driven by photothermal effect induced deformation to adapt to different working ***,the specially designed gripper driven by pulsed laser can lift a heavy load which is four times of its *** work broadens the choice of advanced nanomaterials for photothermal conversion of soft *** is promising to realize applications including photothermal therapy and complex environment detection through the combination of the intelligent robot design and optical fiber system.

This paper investigates the stability of the Francis hydro-turbine governing system with complex penstocks in the grid-connected mode. Firstly, a novel fractional-order nonlinear mathematical model of a Francis hydro-turbine governing system with complex penstocks is built from an engineering application perspective. This model is described by state-space equations and is composed of the Francis hydro-turbine model, the fractional-order complex penstocks model, the third-order generator model, and the hydraulic speed governing system model. Based on stability theory for a fractional-order nonlinear system, this study discovers a basic law of the bifurcation points of the above system with a change in the fractional-order a. Secondly, the stable region of the governing system is investigated in detail,and nonlinear dynamical behaviors of the system are identified and studied exhaustively via bifurcation diagrams, time waveforms, phase orbits, Poincare maps, power spectrums and spectrograms. Results of these numerical experiments provide a theoretical reference for further studies of the stability of hydropower stations.

This work conducted a four-week metabolism test on rats to study the digestion and absorption characteristics of five protein-based krill products prepared from Antarctic krill as raw *** aimed to provide theoretical support for the effective use of Antarctic krill protein and the development of novel protein *** results showed that the weight gain and true digestibility of the rats fed with krill meat,surimi and ordinary krill powder were significantly higher(P<0.05)than those of the rats fed with traditional *** to casein,proteins from the five Antarctic krill products were found to significantly improve the net protein utilization(P<0.05),and reduce the total cholesterol and triglycerides in the serum of rats(P<0.05).In summary,the Antarctic krill protein-based products with high nutritional values can be used as a potential novel protein resource in the food industry.

Gold nanoshells (GNSs), consisting of a dielectric core coated with gold, have gained extensive attention as they show readily tunable optical properties and good biocompatibility. As highly sensitive and label-free optical biosensors with wide applications, GNSs have been investigated in many fields including drug delivery, immunoassay, cancer treatment, biological sensing and imaging. Taking advantage of the adjustability of the local surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) and the sensitivity of the surfaceenhanced Raman scattering (SERS) signal of GNSs, we have developed diverse applications including plasmonic biosensors and nanoprobes based on GNSs. In this review we introduce plasmonic and electromagnetic properties and fabrication methods of GNSs. We describe research progress in recent years, and highlight several applications of GNSs developed by our group. Finally we provide a brief assessment of future development of GNSs as plasmonic materials that can be integrated with complementary analytical techniques.

Internal effects of the dynamic behaviors and nonlinear characteristics of a coupled fractional order hydropower generation system(HGS) are analyzed. A mathematical model of hydro-turbine governing system(HTGS) with rigid water hammer and hydro-turbine generator unit(HTGU) with fractional order damping forces are proposed. Based on Lagrange equations, a coupled fractional order HGS is established. Considering the dynamic transfer coefficient eis variational during the operation, introduced e as a periodic excitation into the HGS. The internal relationship of the dynamic behaviors between HTGS and HTGU is analyzed under different parameter values and fractional order. The results show obvious fast–slow dynamic behaviors in the HGS, causing corresponding vibration of the system, and some remarkable evolution phenomena take place with the changing of the periodic excitation parameter values.

The rapid development of emerging technologies observed in recent years,such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile internet, big data,cloud computing, and the Internet of Everything, are generating escalatingdemands for expanding the capacity density, and speed in next-generation opticalcommunications. This poses a significant challenge to existing communicationtechniques. Within this context, the integration of near-infraredbroadband, tunable, and high-gain luminescent materials into silicon opticalcircuits or fiber architectures to transmit and modulate light shows enormouspotential for advancing next-generation communication techniques. Here, thisreview provides an overview of the recent breakthroughs in near-infrared luminescentepitaxial/colloidal quantum dots, and metal-active-center-doped materialsfor broadband optical amplifiers and tunable lasers. We also expound onefforts to enhance the bandwidth and gain of these materials-based amplifiersand lasers, exploring the challenges associate with developing ultra-broadbandand high-speed optical communication systems. Additionally, the potentialapplications in Fifth Generation Fixed Networks, integration with 5G and 6Gwireless networks, compensation for current Si electronic based CMOS forhigh computing capability, and the prospects of these light sources for nextgenerationoptoelectronic devices are discussed.
