Accurate dynamic modeling of landslides could help understand the movement mechanisms and guide disaster mitigation and *** deformation analysis(DDA)is an effective approach for investigating ***,DDA fails to accurately capture the degradation in shear strength of rock joints commonly observed in high-speed *** this study,DDA is modified by incorporating simplified joint shear strength *** on the modified DDA,the kinematics of the Baige landslide that occurred along the Jinsha River in China on 10 October 2018 are *** violent starting velocity of the landslide is considered *** cases with different violent starting velocities are investigated to show their effect on the landslide movement ***,the landslide movement process and the final accumulation characteristics are analyzed from multiple *** results show that the violent starting velocity affects the landslide motion characteristics,which is found to be about 4 m/s in the Baige *** movement process of the Baige landslide involves four stages:initiation,high-speed sliding,impact-climbing,low-speed motion and *** accumulation states of sliding masses in different zones are different,which essentially corresponds to *** research results suggest that the modified DDA is applicable to similar high-level rock landslides.

Efficient spectral single-pixel imaging via Morton frequency-domain scanning [Invited]

Single-pixel imaging (SPI) captures two-dimensional images utilizing a sequence of modulation patterns and measurements recorded by a single-pixel detector. However, the sequential measurement of a scene is time-consuming, especially for high-spatial-resolution imaging. Furthermore, for spectral SPI, the enormous data storage and processing time requirements substantially diminish imaging efficiency. To reduce the required number of patterns, we propose a strategy by optimizing a Hadamard pattern sequence via Morton frequency domain scanning to enhance the quality of a reconstructed spectral cube at low sampling rates. Additionally, we expedite spectral cube reconstruction, eliminating the necessity for a large Hadamard matrix. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through both simulation and experiment,achieving sub-Nyquist sampling of a three-dimensional spectral cube with a spatial resolution of 256×256 pixels and181 spectral bands and a reduction in reconstruction time by four orders of magnitude. Consequently, our method offers an efficient solution for compressed spectral imaging.

Summer gregarine infection in Antarctic krill Euphausia superba in the Dumont D'Urville Sea, East Antarctic

Antarctic krill Euphausia superba plays a key role in the Antarctic food web. The trophic linkage between krill and other macro-organisms has been studied in the past decades, but the variability of parasites in krill is less studied and remains poorly understood. Therefore, it is important to understand the factors that influence abundance and infection of parasites in krill. Moreover, the relationship between the infection intensity of parasite and krill diet needs to be clarified, which is helpful for understanding the role of parasite in the food web. We investigated the abundance of the highly prevalent gregarine parasites in the digestive tract of krill and the factors influencing the gregarine infection to krill in the East Antarctic. The infection rate of Cephaloidophora pacifica Avdeev, 1985 to krill(n=50 individuals) was 94%. The results of generalized linear model show the infection intensity of C. pacifica to the host was related significantly to the station, krill size, and maturity stage, but not the food species and abundance in the stomach of krill. Abundance of C. pacifica in krill differed among stations, and the lowest abundance occurred in the station nearest to the coast. Gregarines abundance varied among sexual maturity stages of krill and increased with krill size.

A Well Productivity Model for Multi-Layered Marine and Continental Transitional Reservoirs with Complex Fracture Networks

Using the typical characteristics of multi-layered marine and continental transitional gas reservoirs as a basis,a model is developed to predict the related well production *** model relies on the fractal theory of tortuous capillary bundles and can take into account multiple gas flow mechanisms at the micrometer and nanometer scales,as well as the flow characteristics in different types of thin layers(tight sandstone gas,shale gas,and coalbed gas).Moreover,a source-sink function concept and a pressure drop superposition principle are utilized to introduce a coupled flow model in the reservoir.A semi-analytical solution for the production rate is obtained using a matrix iteration method.A specific well is selected for fitting dynamic production data,and the calculation results show that the tight sandstone has the highest gas production per unit thickness compared with the other types of ***,desorption and diffusion of coalbed gas and shale gas can significantly contribute to gas production,and the daily production of these two gases decreases rapidly with decreasing reservoir ***,the gas production from fractures exhibits an approximately U-shaped distribution,indicating the need to optimize the spacing between clusters during hydraulic fracturing to reduce the area of overlapping fracture *** coal matrix water saturation significantly affects the coalbed gas production,with higher water saturation leading to lower production.

Hourly land surface temperature retrieval over the Tibetan Plateau using Geo-LightGBM framework: Fusion of Himawari-8 satellite, ERA5 and site observations

The Tibetan Plateau(TP)is highly sensitive to even minor fluctuations in land surface temperature(LST),which can result in permafrost melting and degradation of alpine grasslands,leading to serious ecological ***,it is crucial to have high-temporal-resolution and seamless hourly estimating and monitoring of LST for a better understanding of climate change on the ***,we employed Himawari-8 satellite,Digital Elevation Model(DEM),ERA5 reanalysis and meteorological station observations data to develop a new LightGBM framework(called Geo-LightGBM)for estimating LST on the TP,and then analyzed the spatiotemporal variations of those ***-LightGBM demonstrated excellent LST estimation accuracy,with an R2(coefficient of determination)of 0.971,RMSE(root-mean-square error)of 2.479℃,and MAE(mean absolute error)of 1.510℃.The estimated LST values for the year 2020 agreed well with observed values,with remarkable differences in hourly LST ***,the estimated LST was more accurate than that from ***,there were two high LST centers,located in the Yarlung Zangbo River Basin and the Qaidam Basin,and a low LST center located in the central *** SHAP(SHapley Additive exPlanations)and correlation analyses revealed DSCS(the mean ground downward shortwave radiation under clear-sky conditions)to be the most importantly input variable for estimating *** dummy variables(e.g.,longitude,latitude,DEM)were also found to be crucial for model accuracy *** findings indicate the potential for constructing a high-precision and seamless 24-h LST real-time retrieval and monitoring platform for the TP by combining satellite and China's independently developed CLDAS(China Land Data Assimilation System)data in future.
