Preliminary report of coseismic surface rupture(part)of Türkiye's M_(W)7.8 earthquake by remote sensing interpretation

Both M_(W) 7.8 and M_(W) 7.5 earthquakes occurred in southeastern Türkiye on February 6,2023,resulting in numerous buildings collapsing and serious *** the distribution of coseismic surface ruptures and secondary disasters surrounding the epicentral area is important for post-earthquake emergency and disaster ***-resolution Maxar and GF-2 satellite data were used after the events to extract the location of the rupture surrounding the first epicentral *** results show that the length of the interpreted surface rupture zone(part of)is approximately 75 km,with a coseismic sinistral dislocation of 2-3 m near the epicenter;however,this reduced to zero at the tip of the southwest section of the East Anatolia Fault ***,dense soil liquefaction pits were triggered along the rupture *** events are in the western region of the Eurasian Seismic Belt and result from the subduction and collision of the Arabian and African Plates toward the Eurasian *** western region of the Chinese mainland and its adjacent areas are in the eastern section of the Eurasian Seismic Belt,where seismic activity is controlled by the collision of the Indian and Eurasian *** China and Türkiye have independent tectonic histories.

Metal tellurides(MTes) are highly attractive as promising anodes for high-performance potassium-ion batteries. The capacity attenuation of most reported MTe anodes is attributed to their poor electrical conductivity and large volume variation. The evolution mechanisms, dissolution properties, and corresponding manipulation strategies of intermediates(K-polytellurides, K-pTe_(x)) are rarely mentioned. Herein,we propose a novel structural engineering strategy to confine ultrafine CoTe_(2) nanodots in hierarchical nanogrid-in-nanofiber carbon substrates(CoTe_(2)@NC@NSPCNFs) for smooth immobilization of K-pTe_(x) and highly reversible conversion of CoTe_(2) by manipulating the intense electrochemical reaction process. Various in situ/ex situ techniques and density functional theory calculations have been performed to clarify the formation, transformation, and dissolution of K-pTe_(x)(K_(5)Te_(3) and K_(2)Te), as well as verifying the robust physical barrier and the strong chemisorption of K_(5)Te_(3) and K_(2)Te on S, N co-doped dual-type carbon substrates. Additionally, the hierarchical nanogrid-in-nanofiber nanostructure increases the chemical anchoring sites for K-pTe_(x), provides sufficient volume buffer space, and constructs highly interconnected conductive microcircuits, further propelling the battery reaction to new heights(3500 cycles at 2.0 A g^(-1)). Furthermore, the full cells further demonstrate the potential for practical applications. This work provides new insights into manipulating K-pTe_(x) in the design of ultralong-cycling MTe anodes for advanced PIBs.

Piglet diarrhea is among one of the most serious health problems faced by the pig industry,resulting in significant economic *** disease in piglets has a multifactorial etiology that is affected by physiology,environment,and management *** is the most apparent symptom of intestinal *** a key class of essential nutrients in the piglet diet,amino acids confer a variety of beneficial effects on piglets in addition to being used as a substrate for protein synthesis,including maintaining appropriate intestinal integrity,permeability and epithelial renewal,and alleviating morphological damage and inflammatory and oxidative ***,provision of appropriate levels of amino acids could alleviate piglet *** amino acid effects are mediated by metabolites,gut microbes,and related signaling *** this review,we summarize the current understanding of dietary amino acid effects on gut health and diarrhea incidence in piglets,and reveal the mechanisms *** also provide ideas for using amino acid blends and emphasize the importance of amino acid balance in the diet to prevent diarrhea in piglets.

Electrocatalytic water splitting is considered a clean and practic al method for producing *** this study,COF-Bpy,a bipyridine-functionalized covalent organic framework（COF）,was prepared via post-synthetic modification,after which electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reactions（OER） were formed through coordination to single- or double-transition metals（Fe,Co,Ni,FeCo,FeNi or CoNi）.COF-Bpy@FeNi delivered the best OER performance among the studied electrocatalysts,with an overpotential of 399 mV at 10 mA·cm-2in an alkaline electrolyte(1.0 mol·L-1KOH aqueous).Notably,the electrocatalytic performance of COF-Bpy@FeNi showed slight degradation during durability testing,which is ascribable to its irreversible benzoquinoline structure and strong metal *** expected,COF-Bpy@FeNi exhibited a low overpotential of 347 mV at a turnover frequency（TOF） of 0.1 s-1,which suggests that COF-Bpy@FeNi possesses excellent intrinsic electroc atalytic OER ***,density functional theory（DFT） calculations reveal that the Ni site plays a major role,while the Fe site adjusts the electronic structure of the Ni ions,which rationalizes the excellent OER properties of COF-Bpy@*** study not only provides a simple and efficient method for complexing COFs with transition metals,but also offers a novel strategy for designing porous organic polymer electrocatalysts.

Pore shrinkage capacity of Shajiang black soils(Vertisols)on the North China Plain and its influencing factors

Different pore sizes present different pore shrinkage capacities in a nonrigid ***,the shrinkage capacities of different pore sizes and their influencing factors are not *** aimed to quantify the shrinkage capacities of different pore sizes(large pores,>50μm;medium pores,0.2-50μm;fine pores,<0.2μm)and determine how soil properties impact soil shrinkage capacity at the regional *** sampling transects from west to east(360 km long,35 samples)and from north to south(190 km long,29 samples)were selected to investigate soil shrinkage capacity and physicochemical properties of at0-20 cm depth in the Vertisol(locally known as Shajiang black soil)region of the North China *** results showed that soil total shrinkage capacity,indicated by the coefficient of linear extensibility(COLE),had a mean value of 0.041-0.051 in the west-east and north-south *** pores had higher pore shrinkage index(PSI)values(0.103-0.109)than medium(0.077-0.096)and fine(0.087-0.091)*** PSI of fine pores showed a fluctuating increasing trend from northwest to southeast,and the fine pore shrinkage capacity determined the COLE(r^(2)=0.789,P<0.001).The PSI of large pores had a significant relationship with soil bulk density(r=0.281,P<0.05)and organic carbon(r=-0.311,P<0.05),whereas those of medium and fine pores were correlated with soil clay content(r=0.381 and 0.687,respectively,P<0.001).In addition,the PSI of fine pores was also correlated with montmorillonite content(r=0.387,P<0.01).It can be concluded that the PSI of large pores is related to anthropogenically influenced soil properties with low stability,whereas those of medium and fine pores are related to pedogenic *** high variability in anthropogenic and pedogenic factors explains the spatial pattern of Vertisol shrinkage capacity on the North China Plain.

Dendrite growth is a complex liquid-solid phase transition process involving multiple physical factors.A phase-field lattice-Boltzmann method was developed to simulate the two-and three-dimension dendrite growth of Al-Cu *** effect of fully coupled thermal-solute-convection interaction on the dendrite growth was investigated by incorporating a parallel-adaptive mesh refinement algorithm into the numerical *** accurately reproducing the latent heat release,solute diffusion and convective transport behaviors at the liquidsolid interface,the interaction mechanism among thermal-solute-convection transport as well as their coupling effects on the dendrite growth dynamics were *** simulation results show that the release of latent heat slows down the dendrite growth rate,and both natural and forced convection disrupt the symmetrical growth of *** combination makes the growth of dendrites more complex,capturing important physical aspects such as recalescence,dendrite tip splitting,dendrite tilting,dendrite remelting,and solute plume in the simulation *** on the robustness and powerful ability of the numerical model,the formation mechanisms of these physical aspects were revealed.

Vapor pressure deficit(VPD)plays a crucial role in determining plant physiological functions and exerts a substantial influence on vegetation,second only to carbon dioxide(CO_(2)).As a robust indicator of atmospheric water demand,VPD has implications for global water resources,and its significance extends to the structure and functioning of ***,the influence of VPD on vegetation growth under climate change remains unclear in *** study employed empirical equations to estimate the VPD in China from 2000 to 2020 based on meteorological reanalysis data of the Climatic Research Unit(CRU)Time-Series version 4.06(TS4.06)and European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)Reanalysis 5(ERA-5).Vegetation growth status was characterized using three vegetation indices,namely gross primary productivity(GPP),leaf area index(LAI),and near-infrared reflectance of vegetation(NIRv).The spatiotemporal dynamics of VPD and vegetation indices were analyzed using the Theil-Sen median trend analysis and Mann-Kendall ***,the influence of VPD on vegetation growth and its relative contribution were assessed using a multiple linear regression *** results indicated an overall negative correlation between VPD and vegetation *** VPD intervals for the correlations between VPD and vegetation indices were identified:a significant positive correlation at VPD below 4.820 hPa,a significant negative correlation at VPD within 4.820–9.000 hPa,and a notable weakening of negative correlation at VPD above 9.000 *** exhibited a pronounced negative impact on vegetation growth,surpassing those of temperature,precipitation,and solar radiation in absolute ***_(2) contributed most positively to vegetation growth,with VPD offsetting approximately 30.00%of the positive effect of CO_(2).As the rise of VPD decelerated,its relative contribution to vegetation growth ***,the intensification of spatial variations in temperature an
