The rapid detection of glyphosate resistance in goosegrass（Eleusine indica） will enhance our ability to respond to new resistant populations of this major weed. Chlorophyll fluorescence（Fluo） and P700（reaction center chlorophyll of photosystem I） absorbance were analyzed in one biotype of goosegrass that is resistant to glyphosate and in another that remains sensitive to the herbicide. Both biotypes were treated with a foliar spray of glyphosate. Differences in photosystem II maximum quantum yield（Fv/Fm）, effective photochemical quantum yield（Y（II））, and non-photochemical quenching（NPQ） between the biotypes increased over time. Values for Fv/Fm and Y（II） differed between the two biotypes 24 h after treatment（HAT）. Differentiated activities and energy dissipation processes of photosystem II（PSII） and energy dissipation processes of photosystem I（PSI） were manifested in the two biotypes 24 HAT with 20 mmol L–1 glyphosate. Differentiated energy dissipation processes of PSI were still apparent 24 HAT with 200 mmol L–1 glyphosate. These results indicate that the Fluo parameters related to PSII activity and energy dissipation and the P700 parameters related to energy dissipation are suitable indicators that enable rapid detection of glyphosate resistance in goosegrass.

An estimation model for the fragmentation properties of brittle rock block due to the impacts against an obstruction

Mountain hazards with large masses of rock blocks in motion – such as rock falls, avalanches and landslides – threaten human lives and structures. Dynamic fragmentation is a common phenomenon during the movement process of rock blocks in rock avalanche, due to the high velocity and impacts against obstructions. In view of the energy consumption theory for brittle rock fragmentation proposed by Bond, which relates energy to size reduction, a theoretical model is proposed to estimate the average fragment size for a moving rock block when it impacts against an obstruction. Then, different forms of motion are studied, with various drop heights and slope angles for the moving rock block. The calculated results reveal that the average fragment size decreases as the drop height increases, whether for free-fall or for a sliding or rolling rock block, and the decline in size is rapid for low heights and slow for increasing heights in the corresponding curves. Moreover, the average fragment size also decreases as the slope angle increases for a slidingrock block. In addition, a rolling rock block has a higher degree of fragmentation than a sliding rock block, even for the same slope angle and block volume. Finally, to compare with others' results, the approximate number of fragments is estimated for each calculated example, and the results show that the proposed model is applicable to a relatively isotropic moving rock block.

Isolated extramedullary ocular relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia （ALL） after allogeneic peripheral blood-stem cell transplantation （allo-P-BSCT） without concomitant involvement of the bone marrow is very rare,while the common sites of extramedullary relapse are the central nervous system, skin, bone, and breasts.^1 This is the report of isolated ocular relapse without any extra- ocular involvement of ALL after allo-PBSCT confirmed by histopathology.

There is a close relationship between potassium(K)and nitrogen(N).However,the roles of K under high N conditions remain *** a hydroponics approach,we monitored the morphological,physiological,and molecular changes in M9T337 apple(Malus domestica)rootstocks under different nitrate(10 and 30 mmol·L^(-1)NO_(3)^(-))and K supply(0.5,6,10,and 20 mmol·L_(-1)K^(+))*** revealed that high nitrate inhibited the root growth of M9T337 rootstocks,downregulated the expressions of K transporter genes(MdPT5,MdHKT1,and MdATK1),and reduced the net NO3-and K+influx at the surface of roots,thereby resulting in an N/K imbalance in *** investigation showed that 10 mmol·L^(-1)K increased the activity of N metabolic enzymes(NR,GS,NiR,and GOGAT),upregulated the expressions of genes related to nitrate uptake and transport(MdNRT1.1,MdNRT1.2,MdNRT1.5,and MdNRT2.4),promoted15N transport from the roots to the shoots,optimized leaf N distribution,and improved photosynthetic N utilization efficiency under high nitrate *** results suggest that the negative effects of high nitrate may be related to the N/K imbalance and that reducing N/K in plants by increasing K supply level can effectively alleviate the inhibition of N assimilation by high nitrate stress.

AIM:To investigate the effects of curcumin on the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptorδ(PPARδ)and related genes in HT-29 cells. 报道2例在山东省淄博市第一医院内分泌科就诊的2型糖尿病(T2DM)患者,经短期胰岛素强化治疗后转换为德谷胰岛素利拉鲁肽注射液治疗的过程。2例患者均为男性,年龄分别为55、57岁,T2DM病史分别为10余年及20年。2例患者长期应用胰岛素或口服药物降糖,血糖未及时监测,入院时血糖升高明显,糖化血红蛋白均>9.0%(分别为10.1%和9.6%)。入院后予胰岛素泵强化治疗,并联合二甲双胍、达格列净和(或)阿卡波糖治疗,患者血糖趋于平稳,接近院内血糖治疗目标。为了使患者院内治疗方案逐渐过渡为出院后居家治疗的方案,经过短期胰岛素强化治疗后,转换为德谷胰岛素利拉鲁肽注射液联合口服药治疗,患者血糖稳定达标。随访2个月发现其体重和腰围轻微下降,无重度低血糖发生,无胃肠道不良反应。

Glyphosate has been used worldwide for nearly 40 years,and 30 types of resistant weeds have been *** is mass-produced and widely used in China,but few studies and reports on glyphosate-resistant weeds and resistance mechanisms *** studies found a goosegrass species with high glyphosate resistance from orchards in South China and its glyphosate resistant mechanism was described in this *** cDNAof 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase（EPSPS,EC 2.***.1.19）,the target enzyme of glyphosate,was cloned from the glyphosate-resistant and-susceptible goosegrass,respectively,and referred as EPSPS-R and *** Pro106 residue was known to be involved in the glyphosate resistance in most goosegrass ***,sequence analysis did not find the mutation at the Pro106 residue in the R biotype EPSPS amino acid *** residue 133 and 382 was mutated in the R biotype EPSPS amino acid sequence instead,but it did not affect the EPSPS-S and EPSPS-R genes sensitivities to ***-PCR and Western blot analyses suggested that EPSPS mRNA and protein are mainly present in the shoot tissues both in the R and S goosegrass *** EPSPS-R rapidly responds to the glyphosate in R-biotype goosegrass and the induced expression was detected at 12 h post glyphosate *** mRNA and protein expression of EPSPS-R increased constantly as the increasing concentration of ***,the expression of the EPSPS-S was not induced significantly by glyphosate in the S goosegrass *** of real-time PCR results showed that the copy number of the EPSPS in R-biotype goosegrass was 4.7 times higher than that in the S goosegrass *** the results implied that EPSPS gene amplification might mainly caused the glyphosate resistance of a goosegrass population collected from orchards in South China.
