Understanding and improving Yangtze River Basin summer precipitation prediction using an optimal multi-Physics ensemble

This study employs the regional Climate-Weather Research and Forecasting model(CWRF)to first investigate the primary physical mechanisms causing biases in simulating summer precipitation over the Yangtze River Basin(YRB),and then enhance its predictive ability through an optimal multi-physics ensemble *** CWRF 30-km simulations in China are compared among 28 combinations of varying physics parameterizations during 1980−***-term average summer biases in YRB precipitation are remotely correlated with those of large-scale *** teleconnections of biases are highly consistent with the observed correlation patterns between interannual variations of precipitation and circulations,despite minor shifts in their primary action *** YRB precipitation aligns with a southward shifted East Asian westerly jet,an intensified low-level southerly flow south of YRB,and a south-eastward shifted South Asian high,alongside higher moisture availability over ***,decreased YRB precipitation corresponds to an opposite circulation *** CWRF control configuration using the ensemble cumulus parameterization(ECP),compared to other cumulus schemes,best captures the observed YRB precipitation characteristics and associated circulation *** ECP with the Morrison or Morrison-aerosol microphysics and the CCCMA or CAML radiation schemes enhances the overall CWRF *** to the control CWRF,the ensemble average of these skill-enhanced physics configurations more accurately reproduces YRB summer precipitation’s spatial distributions,interannual anomalies,and associated circulation *** Bayesian Joint Probability calibration to these configurations improves the ensemble’s spatial distributions but compromises its interannual anomalies and teleconnection *** findings highlight substantial potential for refining the representation of climate system physics to improve YRB precipitation *** is notabl

Extreme precipitation is exacerbating the burden of infectious diarrhea in the context of climate change,it is necessary to identify the critical and easy-to-intervene intermediate factors for public health *** quality may be the most important mediator,while relevant empirical evidence is *** study aimed to examine the role of water quality in the process of infectious diarrhea caused by extreme *** infectious diarrhea cases,meteorological factors and water quality data in Yangtze River Basin in China between October 29,2007 to February 19,2017 were ***-stage statistical models were used to estimate city-specific extreme precipitation,water quality and infectious diarrhea relationships that were pooled to derive regional estimates.A causal mediation analysis was used to assess the mediation effect of water *** Yangtze River Basin,extreme precipitation events had a significant impact on infectious diarrhea(Incidence Rate Ratios[IRR]:1.027,95%Confidence Interval[CI]:1.013~1.041).After extreme precipitation events,the dissolved oxygen(DO)in surface water decreased(-0.123 mg/L,95%CI:-0.159 mg/L~-0.086 mg/L),while the un-ionized ammonia(NH(3)-N)increased(0.004 mg/L,95%CI:0.001 mg/L~0.006 mg/L).The combined overall effect of DO and NH(3)-N on infectious diarrhea showed that both low and high concentrations were associated with an increased risk of infectious *** causal mediation analysis showed that the mediation proportion of the two water quality indexes(DO and NH(3)-N)is 70.54%(P<0.001).To reduce the health effects of extreme precipitation,in contrast to current population-oriented health strategies,those that take into account more direct and easy-to-intervene water quality indicators should be encouraged by future policies.

Evolution of High-energy Electron Distribution in Pulsar Wind Nebulae

In this paper,we analyze the spectral energy distributions of 17 powerful (with a spin-down luminosity greater than1035erg s-1) young （with an age less than 15,000 yr） pulsar wind nebulae （PWNe） using a simple timein-dependent one-zone emission *** aim is to investigate correlations between model parameters and the ages of the corresponding PWNe,thereby revealing the evolution of high-energy electron distributions within *** findings are as follows:（1） The electron distributions in PWNe can be characterized by a double power-law with a super-exponential cutoff.（2） As PWNe evolve,the high-energy end of the electron distribution spectrum becomes harder with the index decreasing from approximately 3.5 to 2.5,while the low-energy end spectrum index remains constant near 1.5.（3） There is no apparent correlation between the break energy or cutoff energy and the age of PWNe.（4） The average magnetic field within PWNe decreases with age,leading to a positive correlation between the energy loss timescale of electrons at the break energy or the high-energy cutoff and the age of the PWN.（5） The total electron energy within PWNe remains constant near 2×1048erg,while the total magnetic energy decreases with age.

Impact of volcanism on the formation and hydrocarbon generation of organic-rich shale in the Jiyang Depression, Bohai Bay Basin, China

Globally,most organic-rich shales are deposited with volcanic ash *** ash,a source for many sedimentary basins,can affect the sedimentary water environment,alter the primary productivity,and preserve the organic matter(OM)through physical,chemical,and biological *** an increasing number of breakthroughs in shale oil exploration in the Bohai Bay Basin in recent years,less attention has been paid to the crucial role of volcanic impact especially its influence on the OM enrichment and hydrocarbon ***,we studied the petrology,mineralogy,and geochemical characteristics of the organic-rich shale in the upper submember of the fourth member(Es_(4)^(1))and the lower submember of the third member(Es_(3)^(3))of the Shahejie Formation,aiming to better understand the volcanic impact on organic-rich shale *** results show that total organic carbon is higher in the upper shale intervals rich in volcanic ash with enriched light rare earth elements and moderate Eu *** indicates that volcanism promoted OM formation before or after the *** positive correlation between Eu/Eu*and Post-Archean Australian Shale indicates hydrothermal activity before the volcanic *** plane graph of the hydrocarbon-generating intensity(S1+S2)suggests that the heat released by volcanism promoted hydrocarbon ***,the nutrients carried by volcanic ash promoted biological blooms during Es_(4)^(1 )and Es_(3)^(3) deposition,yielding a high primary *** blooms consume large amounts of oxygen and form anoxic environments conducive to the burial and preservation of ***,this study helps to further understand the organic-inorganic interactions caused by typical geological events and provides a guide for the next step of shale oil exploration and development in other lacustrine basins in China.

Lithium-sulfur battery is one of the most promising battery systems for industrialization due to its high theoretical specific capacity and high energy ***,the??shuttle effect??has restrained the advancement of lithium-sulfur *** this work,a gradient-structured nanofiber membrane with pure gelatin on one side and Super P-MoO2/MoS2-gelatin on the other side was created using a multi-step electrostatic spinning technique,which was applied for multi-functional separator for lithium-sulfur *** pure gelatin layer facing the anode side primarily homogenizes the lithium flux,whereas the Super P-MoO2/MoS2-gelatin layer facing the cathode side primarily adsorbs polysulfides by physical and chemical adsorption and enhancing polysulfide conversion *** findings demonstrate that even after 150 cycles at 0.2C,the lithium-sulfur battery can still sustain a discharge-specific capacity of 572.3 mAh·*** used with Li||Li symmetric batteries,it has a cycle life of more than 1200 *** commercialization of lithium-sulfur batteries is given a fresh idea by this straightforward preparation technique.

Cloud cover plays a pivotal role in assessing observational conditions for astronomical *** for the fraction of observing time,its fragmentation also wields a significant influence on the quality of nighttime sky *** this article,we introduce the functionΓ∈[0,1],designed to comprehensively capture both the fraction of available observing time and its *** in situ measurement data gathered at the Muztagh-Ata site between 2017 and 2021,we showcase the effectiveness of our *** statistical result illustrates that the Muztagh-Ata site affords approximately 122 nights that were absolutely clear and 205 very good nights annually,corresponding toΓ≥0.9 andΓ≥0.36 respectively.

Cisplatin-based miRNA delivery strategy inspired by the circCPNE1/miR-330-3p pathway for oral squamous cell carcinoma

Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are ideal biomarkers of oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)because of their highly stable closed-loop structure,and they can act as microRNA(miRNA)sponges to regulate OSCC *** analyzing clinical samples,we identified circCPNE1,a dysregulated circRNA in OSCC,and its expression level was negatively correlated with the clinical stage of OSCC ***-of-function assays revealed the tumor-suppressive effect of circCPNE1,which was then identified as a miR-330-3p ***-330-3p was recognized as a tumor promoter in multiple studies,consistent with our finding that it could promote the proliferation,migration,and invasion of OSCC *** results indicated that selective inhibition of miR-330-3p could be an effective strategy to inhibit OSCC ***,we designed cationic polylysine-cisplatin prodrugs to deliver antagomiR-330-3p(a miRNA inhibitory analog)via electrostatic interactions to form PP@miR nanoparticles(NPs).Paratumoral administration results revealed that PP@miR NPs effectively inhibited subcutaneous tumor progression and achieved partial tumor elimination(2/5),which confirmed the critical role of miR-330-3p in OSCC *** findings provide a new perspective for the development of OSCC treatments.

Application of sensory and motor training in AIDET communication mode in patients after knee arthroplasty

BACKGROUND Patients with knee arthroplasty often have problems such as slow recovery of knee function,which may cause negative emotions and affect their postoperative *** application of sensory and motor training in the Acknowledge,Introduce,Duration,Evaluation,Thank You(AIDET)communication mode in patients after knee arthroplasty can provide reference for the selection of postoperative rehabilitation training *** To explore the sensory and motor training effects in AIDET communication mode on knee function recovery and resilience of patients after knee *** One hundred patients who underwent knee arthroplasty at our hospital between January 2022 and January 2024 were randomly divided into two *** control group(n=50)received routine rehabilitation *** the observation group(n=50),the AIDET communication mode was used to perform sensory and motor training,in addition to routine rehabilitation *** rehabilitation training was administered for 8 *** surgery,knee function,balance ability,walking ability,proprioception,and resilience were compared between the two *** The New York Hospital for Special Surgery knee scores of the observation group at the time of discharge and 8 weeks after intervention were(65.23±6.84,84.53±5.27),which was higher than those of the control group(61.03±7.15,74.92±6.52)(P<0.05).The balance ability of the observation group at the time of discharge and 8 weeks after the intervention was higher than that of the control group,the time of time up to go test was shorter than that of the control group,and proprioceptive function was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The resilience level in the observation group after the intervention was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Sensory and motor training in AIDET communication mode promotes knee function recovery of patients after knee arthroplasty,improves their limb walking ability and balan
