Background:The progress of liver diseases may not stop after viral *** study aimed to provide data on long-term prognosis of patients with hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection who underwent pegylated interferon plus ribavirin(PR)regimen and achieved a sustained virological response 24 weeks post-treatment(SVR24).Methods:Responders to the PR regimen in our hospital from January 2011 to june 2014 were enrolled and prospectively followed *** characteristics were *** incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),progression of liver disease(increase in liver stiffness or occurrence of decompensated complication),and HCV recurrence was all *** accumulative and annualized incidence rates(AIRs)of these adverse events were analyzed,and the risk factors were also ***:In total,151 patients reached a median follow-up time of 103 *** them,two had an incidence of HCC during the surveillance with AIR of 0.68%(95%CI:0.00-1.63%).Six patients showed progression of liver disease with AIR of 2.05%(95%CI:0.42%-3.68%).Three patients who had risky behaviors encountered HCV *** cirrhotic patients faced higher risk of poor prognosis than non-cirrhotic patients,including HCC and progression of liver disease(AIR:6.17%vs.1.42%,P=0.039).Conclusions:The incidence of HCC and progression of liver disease was evident in PR responders during the long-term follow-up period,but the risk level was *** responders were more vulnerable to develop HCC post SVR24 compared with non-cirrhotic *** recurrence was rare in responders with SVR24 who had corrected their risky behaviors.

Aims Long-term heavy grazing reduces plant diversity and ecosystem function by intensifying nitrogen(N)and water *** contrast,the absence of biomass removal can cause species loss by elevating light competition and weakening community stability,which is exacerbated by N and water ***,how to maintain species diversity and community stability is still a huge challenge for sustainable management of worldwide *** We conducted a 4-year manipulated experiment in six long-term grazing blocks to explore combination of resource additions and biomass removal(increased water,N and light availability)on species richness and community stability in semiarid grasslands of Inner Mongolia,*** Findings In all blocks treated with the combination of resource additions and biomass removal,primary productivity increased and species richness and community stability were maintained over 4 years of *** both species and plant functional group(PFG)levels,the aboveground biomass of treated plants remained temporally stable in treatments with the combination of N and/or water addition and biomass *** maintenance of species richness was primarily caused by the biomass removal,which could increase the amount of light exposure for grasses under resource *** species asynchrony and stability of PFGs contributed to the high temporal stability observed in these *** results indicate that management practices of combined resource enrichment with biomass removal,such as grazing or mowing,could not only enhance primary productivity but also maintain plant species diversity,species asynchrony and community ***,as overgrazing-induced degradation and resource enrichment-induced biodiversity loss continue to be major problems worldwide,our findings have important implications for adaptive management in semiarid grasslands and beyond.

A simple technique is reported for fabricating the mesa structure on Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ single crystal. In the patterning process, metal masks are used instead of photolithography and argon ion milling is applied to form the small mesa on the Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+δ crystal surface. Real four-probe transport measurements are made on the mesa structure and typical c-axis current-voltage (I - V) characteristics of the intrinsic Josephson effect have been observed. The superconducting gap parameter can be extracted from the multi-branch structure in the I - V characteristics. Additionally, from the strong hysteresis in the I - V characteristics, the capacitance CJ of the unit intrinsic Josephson junction has been estimated to be 2.3pF, which is in good agreement with that evaluated from the geometric parameters of the unit junction between the two copper oxide layers.

AIM: To observe the effect of response-guided add-on therapy with adefovir(ADV) and lamivudine(LAM) in cirrhotic hepatitis B(CHB) ***: A total of 100 patients with CHB and cirrhosis were divided into three arms according to hepatitis B virus(HBV) DNA level after 24 wk LAM monotherapy: Arm A(complete response, HBV DNA ≤ 60 IU/m L, n = 49), Arm B(partial response, HBV DNA: 60-2000 IU/m L, n = 31) and Arm C(inadequate response, HBV DNA > 2000 IU/m L, n = 20). ADV was added to LAM at week 48 in Arms A and B, but at week 24 in Arm C. Virological response, YMDD mutations, biochemical response, and liver function were ***: Comparison of the three arms demonstrated that early complete virologic response at week 24was associated with maintained viral suppression(undetectable rate of HBV DNA at week 144 was 95.96%, 66.67% and 35.29%, respectively, P = 0.000) and reduced YMDD mutations(mutation rate at week 144 was 0%, 3.23% and 15%, respectively, P = 0.015) after 144 wk treatment. For patients who failed to achieve complete virological response at week 24, switching to combination therapy further decreased HBV DNA level by 1 log10 IU/m L. All three arms obtained biochemical benefits including decline of alanine aminotransferase and elevation of albumin. In patients who developed HBV DNA breakthrough for YMDD mutations, ADV add-on therapy did not induce further multiple drug resistance to LAM or ***: Optimized response-guided add-on therapy of ADV and LAM maintains long-term suppression of HBV DNA and improves liver function in CHB patients with compensated liver cirrhosis.

Stripping units take a key role in the neutral particle analyzer(NPA).A renovated gas-stripping unit was constructed for the newly designed E//B *** H_(2)as the working gas,we measured the gas inlet pressure(P_(0))and vacuum chamber pressure(P_(3)).The pressure distribution inside the gas-stripping room was calculated with Ansys Fluent,using the measured P_(0)and P_(3)as boundary *** stripping efficiency of the stripping unit was then simulated utilizing the Geant4 Monte Carlo code for the H and D *** pressure P_(0)=40 Pa,which is one-sixth of what found in the previous design and corresponds to a thickness of 1.27×10^(17)atoms∕cm^(2),was obtained as the optimum working pressure for the upgraded stripping *** 50 kV electron cyclotron resonance(ECR)ion source platform was designed and constructed for E//B NPA calibration,and its performance has been *** the ECR ion source platform,we measured the efficiency of the stripping unit through an inverse experiment with proton *** compared the current ratios of measurements with and without H_(2)gas to Geant4 simulation *** found adequate agreement between the overall trends of the experiment and the *** significant deviation for incident energies below 20 keV may result from the scattering effects of low-energy protons,leading to reduced accuracy in single-scattering physics in Geant4 *** the scattering corrections observed in the reverse experiments obtains more accurate stripping efficiencies for H and D atoms in the energy range of 20–200 keV and the global efficiency with the maximum values of 95.0%for H atoms and 78.9%for D atoms at 200 keV.

Nanocontact properties of two-dimensional(2D)materials are closely dependent on their unique nanomechanical systems,such as the number of atomic layers and the supporting ***,we report a direct observation of toplayer-dependent crystallographic orientation imaging of 2D materials with the transverse shear microscopy(TSM).Three typical nanomechanical systems,MoS_(2) on the amorphous SiO_(2)/Si,graphene on the amorphous SiO_(2)/Si,and MoS_(2) on the crystallized Al_(2)O_(3),have been investigated in *** experimental observation reveals that puckering behaviour mainly occurs on the top layer of 2D materials,which is attributed to its direct contact adhesion with the AFM ***,the result of crystallographic orientation imaging of MoS_(2)/SiO_(2)/Si and MoS_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3) indicated that the underlying crystalline substrates almost do not contribute to the puckering effect of 2D *** work directly revealed the top layer dependent puckering properties of 2D material,and demonstrate the general applications of TSM in the bilayer 2D systems.

Background:The downstaging of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been confirmed to benefit liver transplantation(LT)patients whose tumors are beyond the transplantation *** criteria(MC),a tumor size and number-based assessment,is currently used as the endpoint in these ***,many studies believe that tumor biological behavior should be added to the evaluation criteria for downstaging ***,this study aimed to explore the feasibility of Hangzhou criteria(HC),which introduced tumor grading and alpha-fetoprotein in addition to tumor size and number,as an endpoint of ***:We performed a multicenter and retrospective study of 206 patients accepted locoregional therapy(LRT)as downstaging/bridge treatment prior to LT in three centers of ***:Recipients were divided into four groups:failed downstaging to the HC(group A,n=46),successful downstaging to the HC(group B,n=30),remained within the HC all the time(group C,n=113),and tumor progressed(group D,n=17).The 3-year HCC recurrence probabilities of groups B and C were not significantly different(10.3%vs.11.6%,P=0.87).The HCC recurrent rate was significantly higher in group A(52.3%)compared with that in group B/C(Plicable in clinical practice.
