High-throughput calculations combining machine learning to investigate the corrosion properties of binary Mg alloys

Magnesium(Mg)alloys have shown great prospects as both structural and biomedical materials,while poor corrosion resistance limits their further *** this work,to avoid the time-consuming and laborious experiment trial,a high-throughput computational strategy based on first-principles calculations is designed for screening corrosion-resistant binary Mg alloy with intermetallics,from both the thermodynamic and kinetic *** stable binary Mg intermetallics with low equilibrium potential difference with respect to the Mg matrix are firstly ***,the hydrogen adsorption energies on the surfaces of these Mg intermetallics are calculated,and the corrosion exchange current density is further calculated by a hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)kinetic *** intermetallics,e.g.Y_(3)Mg,Y_(2)Mg and La_(5)Mg,are identified to be promising intermetallics which might effectively hinder the cathodic ***,machine learning(ML)models are developed to predict Mg intermetallics with proper hydrogen adsorption energy employing work function(W_(f))and weighted first ionization energy(WFIE).The generalization of the ML models is tested on five new binary Mg intermetallics with the average root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.11 *** study not only predicts some promising binary Mg intermetallics which may suppress the galvanic corrosion,but also provides a high-throughput screening strategy and ML models for the design of corrosion-resistant alloy,which can be extended to ternary Mg alloys or other alloy systems.

Influence of Vanes and Blades on Ingress in Axial Rim Seal for Turbine Stages

Hot gas ingestion refers to the phenomenon of mainstream hot gas flowing into the space cavity of a turbine *** studies have found that mainstream annulus pressure distribution plays an important role in hot gas ingestion,but due to its complexity,the mechanism of the interaction between mainstream flow and hot gas ingestion remains *** paper adopts the URANS method,and three sealing flow rates are considered,named C_(w)=0,C_(w)=500,and C_(w)=*** time-averaged annulus pressure distribution shows that an increase in the sealing flow decreases the pressure value,and the effects of the sealing flow on the pressure distribution of the leading edge of the blade are much more influential than that of the trailing edge of the *** unsteady pressure time-space distribution in the annulus indicates that a time-space tilted distribution of pressure at the rim exits when the sealing flow *** phenomenon is mainly due to the strong feedback mechanism of the sealing flow to the annulus pressure field.A comparison of the pressure and mean radial velocity distribution of the mainstream shows that the ingestion mainly occurs on the blade side,where the pressure is lower than on the vane *** flow characteristics at the wheel rim are analyzed with a sealing flow rate C_(w)=5000,and under these conditions,both pressure-induced ingestion and ingestion caused by a passage vortex can be *** three-dimensional and inertial effects of the mainstream at the wheel rim lead to the generation of separation vortices on the blade side,and the presence of separation vortices leads to ingestion along the blade *** the same time,pressure on the blade side will cause the fluid to have a radial inward flow tendency,which will promote the formation of separation vortices,leading to more serious ingestion in the high-pressure region on the blade *** blade pressure field can be more significant than the vane trailing pressure field in the rim sea

Phonon-blockade-based multiple-photon bundle emission in a quadratically coupled optomechanical system

We propose a scheme to realize antibunched multiple-photon bundles based on phonon blockade in a quadratically coupled optomechanical *** adjusting the detunings to match the conditions of phonon blockade in the photon sidebands,we establish super-Rabi oscillation between zero-photon state and multiple-photon states with adjustable super-Rabi frequencies under appropriate single-phonon resonant *** the system dissipation into account,we numerically calculate the standard and generalized second-order functions of the cavity mode as well as the quantum trajectories of the state populations with Monte Carlo simulation to confirm that the emitted photons form antibunched multiple-photon ***,the desirable n-photon states are reconstructed after a direct phonon emission based on phonon blockade,and thus the single-phonon emission heralds the cascade emission of n-photon *** proposal shows that the optomechanical system can simultaneously behave as antibunched multiple-photon emitter and single-phonon *** a nonclassical source could have potential applications in quantum information science.

Zinc-based flow battery is an energy storage technology with good application prospects because of its advantages of abundant raw materials,low cost,and environmental *** chemical stability of zinc electrodes exposed to electrolyte is a very important issue for zinc-based *** paper reports on details of chemical stability of the zinc metal exposed to a series of solutions,as well as the relationship between the morphological evolution of zinc electrodes and their properties in an alkaline *** corrosion of zinc electrodes by the electrolyte will change their surface ***,we observed that chemical corrosion is not the main contributor to the evolution of zinc electrode surface morphology,but the main contributor is the Zn/Zn^(2+)electrode *** morphological evolution of zinc electrodes was controlled by using ionic liquids,1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate(EMIA),and 1-propylsulfonic-3-methylimidazolium tosylate(PSMIT),and the electrode performance was recorded during the morphological evolution *** was observed that the reversible change of zinc electrode morphology was accompanied by better electrode performance.

Novel Phosphate-sensitive Fluorescent Composite Matrix

Via several techniques to modify sensitive matrix for inhabiting the leakage of fluorescent indicator, a new stable sensing material for monitoring phosphates has been prepared and applied to the measurement of phosphates in artificial seawater. It is based on the reaction of PO 3- 4 with Al(Ⅲ) Morin that leads to the fluorescence quenching of the composite matrix. At pH value 4 0 and the salinity value 25 0, the response time of output signal having reached the steady state is less than 300 seconds. Its calibration graph is gained in the range of H 2PO - 4 mass concentration from 1 50 to 7 00 μg/mL with the limit of detection(3 σ/K ) 0 02 μg/mL. When it was used to measure phosphates in artificial seawater, the recovery ranged from 96 78% to 102 09%. Being stored under the proper condition, the membranes maintain sensitive for 90-120 days, and are able to be used for 50-80 times with indicator supplement.

Emotion classification in textual conversations focuses on classifying the emotion of each utterance from textual *** is becoming one of the most important tasks for natural language processing in recent ***,it is a challenging task for machines to conduct emotion classification in textual conversations because emotions rely heavily on textual *** address the challenge,we propose a method to classify emotion in textual conversations,by integrating the advantages of deep learning and broad learning,namely *** aims to provide a more effective solution to capture local contextual information(i.e.,utterance-level)in an utterance,as well as global contextual information(i.e.,speaker-level)in a conversation,based on Convolutional Neural Network(CNN),Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory(Bi-LSTM),and broad *** experiments have been conducted on three public textual conversation datasets,which show that the context in both utterance-level and speaker-level is consistently beneficial to the performance of emotion *** addition,the results show that our proposed method outperforms the baseline methods on most of the testing datasets in weighted-average F1.

Membrane technology has become one of the most promising separation technologies for its energy saving, high separation efficiency, environmental friendliness, and economic feasibility. Covalent organic frameworks(COFs) with intrinsically high porosity, controllable pore size, uniform pore size distribution and long-range ordered channel structure, have emerged as next-generation materials to fabricate advanced separation membranes. This feature article summarizes some latest studies in the development of pure COF membranes in our lab, including their fabrication and applications in chemical separations. Finally, current challenges facing high-performance COF separation membranes are discussed.

Capillary electrochromatography （CEC） is a hybrid technique that couples the good selectivity of high-performance liquid chromatography （HPLC） and the high separation efficiency of capillary electrophoresis （CE）. Both charged and uncharged compounds can be separated effectively using CEC. In some cases, however, the bubbles that generated in the capillary column in pure CEC performed on commercial CE instruments will cause unstable current and even disrupt the separation when the concentration of buffer is very high. By applying pressure on the electrochromatographic separation via a micro-HPLC pump, pressurized capillary electrochromatography （ pCEC ） combines two driving factors of the electroosmotic flow （EOF） and the pressure flow, thereby increasing the speed and the selectivity of separation and suppressing the bubble formation. Catalytic chemiluminescence of over twenty metallic ions in the systemof 2, 6, 7-tihydroxyl-9- (4'-chlorophenyl)-3-fluorone (Cl-PF )-H2O2 has been *** amount of Co(Ⅱ) strong1y catalysed this chemiluminescence reaction, especiallyin presence of cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB), andthe chemiluminescence intensity was proportional to the concentraction of Co(Ⅱ) in therange 0. 5~6ng. ml-1 Co(Ⅱ). Two steps could be involved in the chemiluminescentreaction of C1-PF. In alkaline solution, the O2 radical ion should attack an oxygenbridge between the benzene rings of Cl-PF with break in oxygen bridge bond to produce reaction product which is excited by the energy derived from this chemical reaction. The electronic excited state emits the radiation(560 nm) on falling to the groundstate, followed by formation of polyphenol derivatives. the polyphenol derivatives arefurther oxidized to produce chemiluminescence (480 nm) which is due to emission fromsinglet oxygen.
