Effects of fracture evolution and non-Darcy flow on the thermal performance of enhanced geothermal system in 3D complex fractured rock

In fractured geothermal reservoirs,the fracture networks and internal fluid flow behaviors can significantly impact the thermal *** this study,we proposed a non-Darcy rough discrete fracture network(NR-DFN)model that can simultaneously consider the fracture evolution and non-Darcy flow dynamics in studying the thermo-hydro-mechanical(THM)coupling processes for heat extraction in geothermal *** further employed the model on the Habanero enhanced geothermal systems(EGS)project located in ***,our findings illustrate a clear spatial-temporal variation in the thermal stress and pressure perturbations,as well as uneven spatial distribution of shear failure in 3D fracture *** shear failure is mainly concentrated in the first fracture ***,channeling flow have also been observed in DFNs during heat extraction and are further intensified by the expansion of fractures driven by thermal ***,the combined effect of non-Darcy flow and fracture evolution triggers a rapid decline in the resulting heat rate and *** NR-DFN model framework and the Habanero EGS's results illustrate the importance of both fracture evolution and non-Darcy flow on the efficiency of EGS production and have the potential to promote the development of more sustainable and efficient EGS operations for stakeholders.

Co-Ni-based superalloys are known for their capability to function at elevated temperatures and superior hot corrosion and thermal fatigue ***,these alloys show potential as crucial high-temperature structural materials for aeroengine and gas turbine hot-end *** previous work elucidated the influence of Ti and Ta on the high-temperature mechanical properties of ***,the intricate interaction among elements considerably affects the oxidation resistance of *** this paper,Co-35Ni-10Al-2W-5Cr-2Mo-1Nb-xTi-(5−x)Ta alloys(x=1,2,3,4)with varying Ti and Ta contents were designed and compounded,and their oxidation resistance was investigated at the temperature range from 800 to 1000℃.After oxidation at three test conditions,namely,800℃for 200 h,900℃for 200 h,and 1000℃for 50 h,the main structure of the oxide layer of the alloy consisted of spinel,Cr_(2)O_(3),and Al_(2)O_(3)from outside to *** consisting of Ta,W,and Mo formed below the Cr_(2)O_(3)*** interaction of Ti and Ta imparted the highest oxidation resistance to 3Ti2Ta ***,an excessive amount of Ti or Ta resulted in an adverse effect on the oxidation resistance of the *** study reports the volatilization of W and Mo oxides during the oxidation process of Co-Ni-based cast superalloys with a high Al content for the first time and explains the formation mechanism of holes in the oxide *** results provide a basis for gaining insights into the effects of the interaction of alloying elements on the oxidation resistance of the alloys they form.

High corrosion and wear resistant electroless Ni–P gradient coatings on aviation aluminum alloy parts

A Ni–P alloy gradient coating consisting of multiple electroless Ni–P layers with various phosphorus contents was prepared on the aviation aluminum alloy. Several characterization and electrochemical techniques were used to characterize the different Ni–P coatings’ morphologies, phase structures, elemental compositions, and corrosion protection. The gradient coating showed good adhesion and high corrosion and wear resistance, enabling the application of aluminum alloy in harsh environments. The results showed that the double zinc immersion was vital in obtaining excellent adhesion (81.2 N). The optimal coating was not peeled and shredded even after bending tests with angles higher than 90°and was not corroded visually after 500 h of neutral salt spray test at 35℃. The high corrosion resistance was attributed to the misaligning of these micro defects in the three different nickel alloy layers and the amorphous structure of the high P content in the outer layer. These findings guide the exploration of functional gradient coatings that meet the high application requirement of aluminum alloy parts in complicated and harsh aviation environments.

An improved deep dilated convolutional neural network for seismic facies interpretation

With the successful application and breakthrough of deep learning technology in image segmentation,there has been continuous development in the field of seismic facies interpretation using convolutional neural *** intelligent and automated methods significantly reduce manual labor,particularly in the laborious task of manually labeling seismic ***,the extensive demand for training data imposes limitations on their wider *** overcome this challenge,we adopt the UNet architecture as the foundational network structure for seismic facies classification,which has demonstrated effective segmentation results even with small-sample training ***,we integrate spatial pyramid pooling and dilated convolution modules into the network architecture to enhance the perception of spatial information across a broader *** seismic facies classification test on the public data from the F3 block verifies the superior performance of our proposed improved network structure in delineating seismic facies *** analysis against the traditional UNet model reveals that our method achieves more accurate predictive classification results,as evidenced by various evaluation metrics for image ***,the classification accuracy reaches an impressive 96%.Furthermore,the results of seismic facies classification in the seismic slice dimension provide further confirmation of the superior performance of our proposed method,which accurately defines the range of different seismic *** approach holds significant potential for analyzing geological patterns and extracting valuable depositional information.

This paper investigates the problem of Joint Radar Node Selection and Power Allocation(JRNSPA)in the Multiple Radar System(MRS)in the blanket jamming *** radar node independently tracks moving target and subsequently transmits the raw observation data to the fusion center,which formulates a centralized tracking network *** order to establish a practical blanket jamming environment,we suppose that each target carries the self-defense jammer which automatically implements blanket jamming to the radar nodes that exceed the preset interception ***,the Predicted Conditional Cramer-Rao Lower Bound(PC-CRLB)is derived and utilized as the tracking accuracy *** at ensuring both the tracking performance and the Low Probability of Intercept(LPI)performance,the resource-saving scheduling model is formulated to minimize the transmit power consumption while meeting the requirements of tracking ***,the Modified Zoutendijk Method Of Feasible Directions(MZMFD)-based two-stage solution technique is adopted to solve the formulated non-convex optimization *** results show the effectiveness of the proposed JRNSPA scheme.

UreteroPelvic Junction Obstruction(UPJO)is a common hydronephrosis disease in children that can result in an even progressive loss of renal *** is an economical,radiationless,noninvasive,and high noise preliminary diagnostic step for *** intelligence has been widely applied to medical fields and can greatly assist doctors'diagnostic *** demand for a highly secure network environment in transferring electronic medical data online,therefore,has led to the development of blockchain *** this study,we built and tested a framework that integrates a deep learning diagnosis model with blockchain *** diagnosis model is a combination of an attention-based pyramid semantic segmentation network and a discrete wavelet transformation-processed residual classification *** also compared the performance between benchmark models and our *** diagnosis model outperformed benchmarks on the segmentation task and classification task with MloU=87.93,MPA=93.52,and accuracy=91.77%.For the blockchain system,we applied the InterPlanetary File System protocol to build a secure and private sharing *** framework can automatically grade the severity of UPJO using ultrasound images,guarantee secure medical data sharing,assist in doctors'diagnostic ability,relieve patients'burden,and provide technical support for future federated learning and linkage of the Internet of Medical Things(loMT).

Design of low-alloying and high-performance solid solution-strengthened copper alloys with element substitution for sustainable development

Solid solution-strengthened copper alloys have the advantages of a simple composition and manufacturing process,high mechanical and electrical comprehensive performances,and low cost;thus,they are widely used in high-speed rail contact wires,electronic component connectors,and other *** the contradiction between low alloying and high performance is an important challenge in the development of solid solution-strengthened copper *** the typical solid solution-strengthened alloy Cu-4Zn-1Sn as the research object,we proposed using the element In to replace Zn and Sn to achieve low alloying in this *** new alloys,Cu-1.5Zn-1Sn-0.4In and Cu-1.5Zn-0.9Sn-0.6In,were designed and *** total weight percentage content of alloying elements decreased by 43%and 41%,respectively,while the product of ultimate tensile strength(UTS)and electrical conductivity(EC)of the annealed state increased by 14%and 15%.After cold rolling with a 90%reduction,the UTS of the two new alloys reached 576 and 627MPa,respectively,the EC was 44.9%IACS and 42.0%IACS,and the product of UTS and EC(UTS×EC)was 97%and 99%higher than that of the annealed state *** dislocations proliferated greatly in cold-rolled alloys,and the strengthening effects of dislocations reached 332 and 356 MPa,respectively,which is the main reason for the considerable improvement in mechanical properties.

A novel box-counting method for quantitative fractal analysis of threedimensional pore characteristics in sandstone

Fractal theory offers a powerful tool for the precise description and quantification of the complex pore structures in reservoir rocks,crucial for understanding the storage and migration characteristics of media within these *** with the challenge of calculating the three-dimensional fractal dimensions of rock porosity,this study proposes an innovative computational process that directly calculates the three-dimensional fractal dimensions from a geometric *** employing a composite denoising approach that integrates Fourier transform(FT)and wavelet transform(WT),coupled with multimodal pore extraction techniques such as threshold segmentation,top-hat transformation,and membrane enhancement,we successfully crafted accurate digital rock *** improved box-counting method was then applied to analyze the voxel data of these digital rocks,accurately calculating the fractal dimensions of the rock pore *** numerical simulations of permeability experiments were conducted to explore the physical correlations between the rock pore fractal dimensions,porosity,and absolute *** results reveal that rocks with higher fractal dimensions exhibit more complex pore connectivity pathways and a wider,more uneven pore distribution,suggesting that the ideal rock samples should possess lower fractal dimensions and higher effective porosity rates to achieve optimal fluid transmission *** methodology and conclusions of this study provide new tools and insights for the quantitative analysis of complex pores in rocks and contribute to the exploration of the fractal transport properties of media within rocks.

Application of Optical Hydrogels in Environmental Sensing

The ever-increasing complexity of environmental pollutants urgently warrants the development of new detection *** based on the optical properties of hydrogels enabling fast and easy in situ detection are attracting increasing *** this paper,the data from 138 papers about different optical hydrogels(OHs)are extracted for statistical *** detection performance and potential of various types of OHs in different environmental pollutant detection scenarios were evaluated and compared to those obtained using the standard detection *** on this analysis,the target recognition and sensing mechanisms of two main types of OHs are reviewed and discussed:photonic crystal hydrogels(PCHs)and fluorescent hydrogels(FHs).For PCHs,the environmental stimulus response,target receptors,inverse opal structures,and molecular imprinting techniques related to PCHs are reviewed and ***,the different types of fluorophores(i.e.,compound probes,biomacromolecules,quantum dots,and luminescent microbes)of FHs are ***,the potential academic research directions to address the challenges of applying and developing OHs in environmental sensing are proposed,including the fusion of various OHs,introduction of the latest technologies in various fields to the construction of OHs,and development of multifunctional sensor arrays.

Tough lanthanide luminescent hydrogel for nitroaromatics detection

Luminescent hydrogels have received considerable attention in the application of *** matics are harmful to human health and can be *** skin allergies and central nervous system injuries may also be attributed to the over exposure to ***,nitroaromatics sensor with fast detection and low detection limit is highly ***,novel tough hydrogels were prepared by introducing hydrogen bonds and covalent bonds into the interpenetrating networks of modified chitosan and poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA) via frozen-thawing induced chemical *** synthesized hydrogels exhibit high mechanical strength(0.23 MPa tensile strength at 140% tensile strain,1.0 MPa compressive strength at 80% compressive strain).Strong green emission was realized by energy transfer from the modified chitosan to Tb^(3+)via the so-called "antenna effect." The prepared luminescent hydrogels show an excellent detection effect on nitroaromatic compounds and its detection limit can reach *** hydrogels also exhibit good reversibility and a fast "off-on" fluorescence switching *** work may open up a new way for the development of stable,rapid,and reusable sensors for the detection of harmful nitroaromatics.
