It has been well established that carbon dioxide(CO_(2))is one of the main greenhouse gasses and a leading driver of climate *** chemical conversion of CO_(2) to substitute natural gas(Sng)in the presence of renewable hydrogen is one of the most promising solutions by a well-known process called CO_(2) *** have been comprehensive efforts in developing effective and efficient CO_(2) methanation catalytic ***,the choice of competitive and stable catalysts is still a monumental obstruction and a great challenge towards the commercialization and industrialization of CO_(2) *** is necessary to emphasize the critical understandings of intrinsic and extrinsic interactions of catalyst components(active metal,support,promoter,etc.)for enhanced catalytic performance and stability during CO_(2) *** study reviews the up-to-date developments on CO_(2) methanation catalysts and the optimal synergistic relationship between active metals,support,and promoters during the catalytic *** existing catalysts and their novel properties for enhanced CO_(2) methanation were elucidated using the state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical *** selection of an appropriate synthesis method,catalytic activity for CO_(2) methanation,deactivation of the catalysts,and reaction mechanisms studies,have been explicitly compared and ***,future efforts should be directed towards the sustainable developments of catalytic configurations for successful industrial applications of CO_(2) utilization to Sng using CO_(2) methanation.

After laser quenching and tempering of three kinds of annealed tool high-speed steel(W18Cr-4V, W9Mo3Cr4V1, W6Mo5Cr4V2) test samples, the microhardness measurer was used to test the samples and some problems, such as the hardness and depth of hardening-quenching layer were analyzed. Furthermore, after laser quenching and tempering of the quenched and three-time tempered high-speed steel (W18Cr4V) and its hardness analyzing, different results of laser-quenching samples were obtained under different initial heat-treating.

Photovoltaic enhancement of Si solar cells by assembled carbon nanotubes

Photovoltaic conversion was enhanced by directly assemble of a network of single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWnTs) onto the surface of n-p junction silicon solar cells. When the density of SWnTs increased from 50 to 400 tubes μm^(-2), an enhancement of 3.92% in energy conversion efficiency was typically obtained. The effect of the SWnTs network is proposed for trapping incident photons and assisting electronic transportation at the interface of silicon solar cells.

Levitation and lateral forces between a point magnetic dipole and a superconducting sphere

The dipole–dipole interaction model is employed to investigate the angular dependence of the levitation and lateral forces acting on a small magnet in an anti-symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system. Breaking the symmetry of the system enables us to study the lateral force which is important in the stability of the magnet above a superconducting sphere in the Meissner state. Under the assumption that the lateral displacement of the magnet is small compared to the physical dimensions of our proposed system, analytical expressions are obtained for the levitation and lateral forces as a function of the geometrical parameters of the superconductor as well as the height, the lateral displacement, and the orientation of the magnetic moment of the magnet. The dependence of the levitation force on the height of the levitating magnet is similar to that in the symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system within the range of proposed lateral displacements. It is found that the levitation force is linearly dependent on the lateral displacement whereas the lateral force is independent of this displacement. A sinusoidal variation of both forces as a function of the polar and azimuthal angles specify.ng the orientation of the magnetic moment is observed. The relationship between the stability and the orientation of the magnetic moment is discussed for different orientations.

Graduate students who are beginning academic research want to learn how to create and verify new knowledge in their research. Their supervisors, on the other hand, are seeking appropriate research environments including effective research guidance methods. In order to meet these demands, this paper proposes a knowledge creation model that supports the objectives of both graduate students and their supervisors. This is an academic knowledge creation model for individuals supported by a group and its origin can be traced back to a famous organizational knowledge creation model. Since this type of model is constructed from empirical knowledge, it is not easy to prove its objective significance. But, this paper tries to show the effectiveness of the proposed model as an initial stage of model validation based on a questionnaire survey of students in a graduate school in China.

Secure Probabilistic Prediction of Dynamic Thermal Line Rating

Accurate short-term prediction of overhead line(OHL)transmission ampacity can directly affect the efficiency of power system operation and *** overcstiniation of the dynamic thermal line rating(DTLR)can lead to the lifetime degradation and failure of OHLs,safety hazards,*** paper presents a secure yet sharp probabilistic model for the hour-ahead prediction of the *** security of the proposed DTLR limits the frequency of DTLR prediction exceeding the actual *** model is based on an augmented deep learning architecture that makes use of a wide range of predictors,including historical climatology data and latent variables obtained during DTLR ***,by introducing a customized cost function,the deep neural network is trained to consider the DTLR security based on the required probability of exceedance while minimizing the deviations of the predicted DTLRs from the actual *** proposed probabilistic DTLR is developed and verified using recorded experimental *** simulation results validate the superiority of the proposed DTLR compared with the state-of-the-art prediction models using well-known evaluation metrics.

Directional solidification and physical properties measurements of the zinc-aluminum eutectic alloy

Zn-5wt% Al eutectic alloy was directionally solidified with different growth rates （5.32-250.0μm/s） at a constant temperature gradient of 8.50 K/mm using a Bridgman-type growth *** values of eutectic spacing were measured from transverse sections of the *** dependences of the eutectic spacing and undercooling on growth rate are determined as λ=9.21V-0.53 and ΔT=0.0245V0.53,*** results obtained in this work were compared with the Jackson-Hunt eutectic theory and the similar experimental results in the *** of directionally solidified samples was also measured by using a microhardness test *** dependency of the microhardness on growth rate is found as Hv=***,the electrical resistivity （r） of the casting alloy changes from 40×10-9 to 108×10-9 Ω·m with the temperature rising in the range of 300-630 *** enthalpy of fusion （ΔH） and specific heat （Cp） for the Zn-Al eutectic alloy are calculated to be 113.37 J/g and 0.309 J/（g·K）,respectively by means of differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） from heating trace during the transformation from liquid to solid.

Corrosion behavior of hypereutectic Al-23%Si alloy (AC9A) processed by severe plastic deformation

Ultrafine-grained(UFG) hypereutectic Al-23%Si (mass fraction) alloy was achieved through equal-channel angular pressing(EACP) procedure. And the electrochemical properties after various ECAP passes were investigated in neutral naCl solution. Potentiostatic polarization curves show that the corrosion potential of the ECAPed sample after 4 passes decreases markedly, while the corrosion current density reaches 1.37 times that of the as-cast alloy. However, the φcorr and Jcorr values after 16 passes are improved and approach those of the as-cast alloy. Immersion tests also show that the mass-loss ratio of ECAPed alloy decreases with increasing the pressing pass, which is lowered to 28.7% with the increase of pass number from 4 to 16. Pitting susceptibility of the ECAPed alloy after initial 4 passes is boosted, due to the presence of biggish voids resulted from the breakage of brittle large primary silicon crystals during ECAP. Increasing ECAP pass makes the voids evanesce and results in the homogeneous ultrafine-grained structure, contributing to a higher pitting resistance. These results indicate that enough ECAP passes are beneficial to increasing corrosion resistance of the hypereutectic Al-23%Si alloy.

Magnetic transitions and butterfly-shaped hysteresis of Sm-Fe-Al-based perovskite-type orthoferrite

A1 doped SmFeO3 （SmFel_xmlxO3; 0.0〈x〈0.15; step 0.05） were prepared by double sintering ceramic technique. The obtained samples were crystallized in single phase structure except the sample with x=0.15. The unit cell volume was found to decrease with increasing AI substitution in orthoferrite. The effective magnetic moment （μeff） and the Curie constant （C） were calculated from the reciprocal of the molar magnetic susceptibility （Z-1） versus absolute temperature plot and found to attain maximum value for the parent sample. The magnetic behavior showed two different magnetic transitions, viz, n6el temperature （Tn） and spin reorientation （TsR） transitions. The M-H hysteresis loop of the parent sample took butterfly-shape as a result of different contributions anisotropies. From the magnetic properties measurements, it was obviously found that B-site cation dilution resulted in a drastic decrease in the magnetization. Surprisingly large value of the coercive field was obtained for the undoped sample;Hc=6198.80e. Based on the mentioned results, one can recommend the use of such orthoferrite in magnetic recording media and as pining layer in spin valve for spin- tronic applications.
