Background:Retinal diseases characterized with irreversible loss of retinal nerve cells,such as optic atrophy and retinal degeneration,are the main causes of blindness.Current treatments for these diseases are very limited.An emerging treatment strategy is to induce the reprogramming of Müller glial cells to generate new retinal nerve cells,which could potentially restore vision.Main text:Müller glial cells are the predominant glial cells in retinae and play multiple roles to maintain retinal homeostasis.In lower vertebrates,such as in zebrafish,Müller glial cells can undergo cell reprogramming to regenerate new retinal neurons in response to various damage factors,while in mammals,this ability is limited.Interestingly,with proper treatments,Müller glial cells can display the potential for regeneration of retinal neurons in mammalian retinae.Recent studies have revealed that dozens of genetic and epigenetic regulators play a vital role in inducing the reprogramming of Müller glial cells in vivo.This review summarizes these critical regulators for Müller glial cell reprogramming and highlights their differences between zebrafish and mammals.Conclusions:A number of factors have been identified as the important regulators in Müller glial cell reprogramming.The early response of Müller glial cells upon acute retinal injury,such as the regulation in the exit from quiescent state,the initiation of reactive gliosis,and the re-entry of cell cycle of Müller glial cells,displays significant difference between mouse and zebrafish,which may be mediated by the diverse regulation of Notch and TGFβ(transforming growth factor-β)isoforms and different chromatin accessibility.

In order to shorten the off-gauge length between head and tail on welded seam during normal produce of five tandem cold mill in baosteel , it main analyze the main mode, the strategy of process parameters and the technical shortage about old FGC. According to the principle of metal mass flow equation, it made a new control principle and a new strategy of process parameters of FGC. After the application of new strategy to line, It is not only the transition more stable and the ratio of strip breakage lower, but also the length of off-gauge is shortened and the percent of pass of strip gauge is higher. It is useful for reference of FGC technical optimization to hot mill and similar mill as five tandem cold rolling mill.

Urease has a broad range of applications,however,the current studies on urease mainly focus on terrestrial plants or microbes.Thus,it is quite necessary to determine if marine-derived ureases have diferent characteristics from terrestrial origins since the fnding of ureases with superior performance is of industrial interest.In this study,the marine urease produced by Penicillium steckii S4-4 derived from marine sponge Siphonochalina sp.was investigated.This marine urease exhibited a maximum specifc activity of 1542.2 U mg protein−1.The molecular weight of the enzyme was 183 kDa and a single subunit of 47 kDa was detected,indicating that it was a tetramer.The N-terminal amino acid sequence of the urease was arranged as GPVLKKTKAAAV with greatest similarity to that from marine algae Ectocarpus siliculosus.This urease exhibited a K_(m) of 7.3 mmol L^(−1) and a V_(max) of 1.8 mmol urea min^(−1) mg protein^(−1).The optimum temperature,pH and salinity are 55℃,8.5 and 10%,respectively.This urease was stable and more than 80%of its maximum specifc activity was detected after incubating at 25–60℃for 30 min,pH 5.5–10.0 or 0–25%salinity for 6 h.Compared with the terrestrial urease from Jack bean,this marine urease shows higher thermostability,alkaline preference and salinity tolerance,which extends the potential application felds of urease to a great extent.

Although the slippage effect has been extensively studied,most of the previous studies focused on the impact of the slippage effect on apparent permeability within a low pore pressure range,resulting in the inability of matching the evolution of permeability in the remaining pressure range.In this paper,a new apparent permeability model that reveals the evolution of permeability under the combined action of effective stress and slippage in the full pore pressure range was proposed.In this model,both intrinsic permeability and slippage coefficient are stress dependent.Three experimental tests with pore pressure lower than 2 MPa and a test with pore pressure at about 10 MPa using cores from the same origin under constant confining stress and constant effective stress are conducted.By comparing experimental data and another apparent permeability model,we proved the fidelity of our newly developed model.Furthermore,the contribution factor of the slippage effect Rslip is used to determine the low pore pressure limit with significant slippage effect.Our results show that both narrow initial pore size and high effective stress increase the critical pore pressure.Finally,the evolutions of the slippage coefficient and the intrinsic permeability under different boundary conditions were analyzed.

The Baisha Structure,with a rim-to-rim diameter of^3.7 km,in the center of the Hainan Province,southern China has been considered to be an impact crater.Field investigation and petrological study are presented in this paper to investigate the impact hypothesis for this structure.The^600-m-thick Lower Cretaceous feldspathic quartz sandstones from the Lumuwan Formation are the major outcrops both within and outside of the structure.The amphitheater-shaped rim of the structure is composed of granite porphyries that are intruded in the Lumuwan Formation.Previously interpreted impact breccia and impact melt rocks are actually granite porphyries different cooling rates and weathering status.Rocks from locations that most likely have recorded shock metamorphic signatures are sampled,but petrographic analyses reveal no indications of shock metamorphism.While subtle structural deformation occurs at the contact boundary between the granite porphyries and the feldspathic quartz sandstones,the feldspathic quartz sandstones exhibit uniformed dipping strata across the crater floor and walls.All the evidence suggests that the Baisha Structure was not formed by impact cratering.It most likely has been shaped by a combination of magmatic intrusion and long-term differential erosion.

OBJECTIVE Fear can be learned indirectly, but excessive transmission of fear is essential for the development of mental illness. Previous research has indicated that the anterior insular cortex(AIC) may play a crucial role in the process of fear transmission,and abnormal AIC activity is a possible mechanism underlying various affective disorders. Inhibitory neurons are crucial for maintaining local microcircuit homeostasis.With the support of novel specific neuroregulatory techniques, it is now possible to monitor and regulate different types of neurons in real-time. Therefore, investigating distinct subtypes of inhibitory neurons in the AIC that are involved in fear contagion may provide valuable insights into potential mechanisms underlying mental disorders.METHODS We established a modified observational fear(OF) model. A demonstrator(DM) mouse was placed in an acrylic cup at the center of the apparatus,and two observer(OB) mice were allowed to explore the DM mouse simultaneously from separate areas on either side. During the OF training, electric foot shocks were administered to the DM mouse and freezing, the side and corner time, and social interaction behavior were scored. Next, we characterized the activity patterns of distinct neuronal subtypes in the AIC using GCaMPbased calcium recording. Finally, we employed a Credependent optogenetic approach to selectively modulate excitatory or inhibitory neurons in the AIC, and investigated empathic fear behavior across different Cre transgenic mouse lines(CK2-Cre, PV-Cre, SOM-Cre, VIP-Cre).RESULTS During the training phase, the OB mice exhibited significantly higher levels of fear compared to the control group(which did not observe a traumatic event),as evidenced by increased freezing time, decreased interaction time, and increased corner zone time. Calcium fiber recording results suggested that CK2 neurons are involved in risk prediction, while PV and VIP neurons exert inhibitory control on this behavior. Accurate knowledge of gas flow within the reservoir and related controlling factors will be important for enhancing the production of coal bed methane.At present,most studies focused on the permeability evolution of dry coal under gas adsorption equilibrium,gas flow and gas diffusion within wet coal under the generally non-equilibrium state are often ignored in the process of gas recovery.In this study,an improved apparent permeability model is proposed which accommodates the water and gas adsorption,stress dependence,water film thickness and gas flow regimes.In the process of modeling,the water adsorption is only affected by water content while the gas adsorption is time and water content dependent;based on poroelastic mechanics,the effective fracture aperture and effective pore radius are derived;and then the variation in water film thickness for different pore types under the effect of water content,stress and adsorption swelling are modeled;the flow regimes are considered based on Beskok’s model.Further,after validation with experimental data,the proposed model was applied to numerical simulations to investigate the evolution of permeability-related factors under the effect of different water contents.The gas flow in wet coal under the non-equilibrium state is explicitly revealed.

A rocky hill on the continuous ejecta of Ziwei crater revealed by the Chang’e-3 mission

The Chinese Chang’e-3 mission landed close to the eastern rim of the ~450 m diameter Ziwei crater. Regional stratigraphy of the landing site and impact excavation model suggest that the bulk continuous ejecta deposits of the Ziwei crater are composed by Erathothenian-aged mare basalts. Along the traverse of the Yutu rover, the western segment features a gentle topographic uplift(~0.5 m high over ~4 m), which is spatially connected with the structurally-uplifted crater rim. Assuming that this broad topographic uplift has physical properties discontinuous with materials below, we use data returned by the high-frequency lunar penetrating radar onboard the Yutu rover to estimate the possible range of relative permittivity for this topographic uplift. Only when the relative permittivity is ~9 is the observed radar reflection consistent with the observed topography, suggesting that the topographic uplift is composed of basaltic blocks that were excavated by the Ziwei crater. This result is consistent both with the impact excavation model that predicts deeper basaltic materials being deposited closer to the crater rim, and with observation of numerous half-buried boulders on the surface of this hill. We note that this study is the first to use topography and radargram data to estimate the relative permittivity of lunar surface uplifts, an approach that has had many successful applications on Mars. Similar approaches can apply other ground penetrating radar data for the Moon, such as will be available from the ongoing Chang’e-4 mission.
