Coral records of Mid-Holocene sea-level highstands and climate responses in the northern South China Sea

High-resolution sea-level data and high-precision dating of corals in the northern South China Sea(SCS)during the Holocene provide a reference and historical background for current and future sea-level changes and a basis for scientific assessment of the evolutionary trend of coral reefs in the *** sporadic studies have been performed around Hainan Island in the northern SCS,the reconstructed sea level presents different values or is controversial because the indicative meaning of the sea-level indicators were neither quantified nor uniform ***,we determined the quantitative relationship between modern living coral and sea level by measuring the top surfaces of 27 live Porites corals from the inner reef flat along the east coast of Hainan Island and assessed the accuracy of results obtained using coral as sea-level ***,three in situ fossil Porites corals were analyzed based on elevation measurements,digital X-ray radiography,and U-Th *** survey results showed that the indicative meanings for the modern live Porites corals is(146.09±8.35)cm below the mean tide level(MTL).It suggested that their upward growth limit is constrained by the sea level,and the lowest low water is the highest level of survival for the modern live Porites *** on the newly defined indicative meanings,6 new sea-level index points(SLIPs)were obtained and 19 published SLIPs were *** SLIPs indicated a relative sea level fluctuation between(227.7±9.8)cm to(154.88±9.8)cm MTL between(5393±25)cal a BP and(3390±12)cal a BP,providing evidences of the Mid-Holocene sea-level highstand in the northern *** that,our analysis demonstrated that different sea-level histories may be produced based on different indicative meanings or *** dataset of 276 coral U-Th ages indicates that coral reef development in the northern SCS comprised the initial development,boom growth,decline,and flourishing development again.A comparison wit

Objective The Lincang granitic batholith, extending over 370 km from north to south with an area of more than 10000 km2, is the major part of the Sanjiang region in western Yunnan, SW China, and is one key area to study the evolution of the Tethys. Previous studies all agreed that the Lincang batholith was formed in the Triassic, and widely considered its formation to be the result of Paleo- Tethyan orogeny （Dong et al., 2013）. However, the early Ordovician syenogranite has been discovered recently for the first tirne in the Lincang batholith, and its petrologic and geochronological results are presented here to provide evidence in support of its association with Proto-Tethyan orogeny. This new discovery has important significance lbr understanding the geodynamic history of the Lincang batholith and tectonic evolution of the Sanjiang region.

Zinccopperite (tentatively named) is a rare native alloy mineral discovered in quartz monzonite—porphyry in the Xifanping area, Yanyuan County, Sichuan Province. It is a new variety of zinc—copper alloy mineral found for the first time in the porphyry-copper deposit in China. Its intergrown minerals are K—feldspar (mainly perthite), albite—oligoclase, quartz and biotite; and the associated minerals include pyrite and chalcopyrite. It is characterized by a golden reflection colour, being isotropic (isometric), with the grain size ranging from 10 to 50 μm, microhardness VHN10 = 190 kg/mm2, and reflectance RVM = 67.97%. Electron microprobe (Model JXA—733) analysis shows Cu = 59.15%–62.55% and Zn = 36.32%–39.85%. The crystallochemical formula is Cu6.27-7.0Zn4.0, simplified as Cu7Zn4.

The development of efficient single-atom catalysts(SACs) for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)remains a formidable challenge,primarily due to the symmetric charge distribution of metal singleatom sites(M-N_(4)).To address such issue,herein,Fe-N_(x) sites coupled synergistic catalysts fabrication strategy is presented to break the uniform electronic distribution,thus enhancing the intrinsic catalytic ***,atomically dispersed Fe-N_(x) sites supported on N/S-doped mesoporous carbon(NSC)coupled with FeS@C core-shell nanoparticles(FAS-NSC@950) is synthesized by a facile hydrothermal reaction and subsequent *** to the presence of an in situ-grown conductive graphitic layer(shell),the FeS nanoparticles(core) effectively adjust the electronic structure of single-atom Fe sites and facilitate the ORR kinetics via short/long-range coupling ***,FAS-NSC@950displays a more positive half-wave potential(E_(1/2)) of 0.871 V with a significantly boosted ORR kinetics(Tafel slope=52.2 mV dec^(-1)),outpacing the commercial Pt/C(E_(1/2)=0.84 V and Tafel slope=54.6 mV dec^(-1)).As a bifunctional electrocatalyst,it displays a smaller bifunctional activity parameter(ΔE) of 0.673 V,surpassing the Pt/C-RuO_(2) combination(ΔE=0.724 V).Besides,the FAS-NSC@950-based zincair battery(ZAB) displays superior power density,specific capacity,and long-term cycling performance to the Pt/C-Ir/C-based *** work significantly contributes to the field by offering a promising strategy to enhance the catalytic activity of SACs for ORR,with potential implications for energy conversion and storage technologies.

Herein, a nickel-catalyzed arylcyanation of unactivated alkenes via cyano group translocation with aryl boronic acids has been developed. These transformations provided a robust approach to constructing structurally diverse 1,n-dinitriles or 4-amino nitriles from easily prepared and commercially available starting materials. The cyano group translocation was achieved,involving the addition into the intramolecular C–N triple bond followed by the retro-Thorpe reaction. Mechanistic studies revealed that high temperature and CsHCO3as the base were crucial for the cyano group translocation.

The shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)and uncontrollable lithium dendrite growth seriously hinder the practical application of lithium-sulfur(Li-S)*** simultaneously address such issues,monodispersed Nb N quantum dots anchored on nitrogen-doped hollow carbon nanorods(NbN@NHCR)are elaborately developed as efficient Li PSs immobilizer and Li stabilizer for high-performance Li-S full *** functional theory(DFT)calculations and experimental characterizations demonstrate that the sulfiphilic and lithiophilic NbN@NHCR hybrid can not only efficiently immobilize the soluble Li PSs and facilitate diffusion-conversion kinetics for alleviating the shuttling effect,but also homogenize the distribution of Li+ions and regulate uniform Li deposition for suppressing Li-dendrite *** a result,the assembled Li-S full batteries(NbN@NHCR-S||Nb N@NHCR-Li)deliver excellent long-term cycling stability with a low decay rate of 0.031%per cycle over 1000 cycles at high rate of 2 *** at a high S loading of 5.8 mg cm^(-2)and a low electrolyte/sulfur ratio of 5.2μL mg^(-1),a large areal capacity of 6.2 mA h cm^(-2)can be achieved in Li-S pouch cell at 0.1 *** study provides a new perspective via designing a dual-functional sulfiphilic and lithiophilic hybrid to address serious issues of the shuttle effect of S cathode and dendrite growth of Li anode.

1 Geological features in the deposit THE Xifanping porphyry is located in the Yanyuan-Lijiang fault block at the southern margin of theYangtze massif. Only the Upper Permian Leping Formation and the Lower Triassic Qingtianbao Formation are exposed in Yanyuan County, Sichuan Province. The main ore-bearing rock body (No. 80) is anear-equant irregular complex stock, about 900 m long from east to west and 720 m wide from north tosouth. The bulk part consists of megaphyric biotite-quartz monzonitic porphyry. The commercial orebodylies in the No. 80 rock body and its surrounding country rocks, an N-S-elongated irregular lens-shapeddeposit. The orebody is controlled by the K-feldspar-biotite and quartz-sericite alteration zones. It consists mainly of disseminated and veinlet-disseminated ores.

对纳木错地区过铝质花岗岩开展锆石U-Pb定年及岩石地球化学研究,精确限定其形成时代,探讨其成因机制及构造演化。纳木错地区过铝质花岗岩为二云母钾长花岗岩及(含红柱石)二云母二长花岗岩,与NW、NE向逆冲走滑断裂构造较为密切。岩石A/CNK值为1.05~1.28,具有高CaO/Na_(2)O值(0.30~0.71)、低Al_(2)O_(3)/TiO_(2)值(25~80)的特征,属钾玄岩–高钾钙碱性过铝质S型花岗岩系列,为“高温”型后碰撞花岗岩。岩石的锆石^(206)Pb/^(238)U年龄为76~75 Ma。结合区域地质资料,认为纳木错地区早白垩世中期(120 Ma左右),班公湖–怒江洋盆最终闭合,羌塘地块与拉萨地块开始陆陆碰撞,在晚白垩世早期进入后碰撞阶段(100?~75 Ma),地壳增厚不明显(≤50 km)。岩浆源岩可能为拉萨地块基底的念青唐古拉群变质砂屑岩发生部分熔融的产物,可能代表了北拉萨地块碰撞岩浆事件的谢幕,火山–岩浆(弧)的总体构造格局形成。
