The fragile histidine triad(FHIT)gene,a candidate tumor suppressor gene located at 3p14.2,has been shown to be involved in the carcinogenesis of many human tissues,including digestive tract ***,the expression and the role of the FHIT in the initiation and the development of the colorectal cancer(CRC)are poorly *** have shown that the FHIT gene exhibits significantly decreased expression in human CRC compared to colorectal adenoma and normal colorectal tissue by tissue microarray(TMA).The positive rate of FHIT gene expression in normal colorectal tissue,adenoma and adenocarcinoma were 93.75%,68.75%and 46.25%,*** show this decreased expression to be significantly correlated with the progression of colorectal carcinoma(P<0.05)as well as with differentiation and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).We detected two somatic alterations in the FHIT gene in human *** presence of this mutation correlated significantly with decreased FHIT expression in the human *** our present study we tested the hypothesis that the decreased FHIT expression resulted in apoptosis inhibition associated with abnormal expression of apoptosis related *** test this hypothesis we did a series of *** the first test,we assessed apoptosis status using a standard TUNEL(terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick-end-labeling)assay by comparing FHIT-positive CRC ***-negative *** the second experiment,the protein expression of the FHIT and other apoptosis related proteins(Bax,Bcl-2 and Survivin)were measured in human CRC by *** combined results demonstrate the mutation in the FHIT gene significantly reduced FHIT expression in human *** TUNEL and TMA experiments demonstrated significantly inhibited apoptosis by down-regulation of Bax and the up-regulation of Survivin and ***,these studies identify the mechanism by which an important tumor suppressor gene,FHIT is inactivated specifically in human CRC contribut

Investigation of mechanical and electrical characteristics of selfsensing pneumatic torsional actuators

Soft pneumatic actuators are one of the most promising actuation for soft robots,and great achievements have been *** it remains challenging to endow sensing capabilities to pneumatic actuators,especially for the sensing ability originating directly from the actuator ***,a self-sensing pneumatic torsional actuator(SPTA)is designed based on the electromagnetic induction effect and magnetically responsive *** SPTA can generate feedback voltage and current with the deformation,in which the sensing function comes from its inherent *** investigate the mechanical and electrical characteristics,an experimental platform and a finite element model are established,*** find that the torsion angle and output torque increase in nonlinear with the actuating *** maximum torsion angle is 66.35°,which is 84.34%of that for the actuator fabricated by pure *** maximum output torque(24.9 N mm)improves by 23.19%compared with the actuator made by pure *** regards the electrical characteristics,the maximum feedback voltage and current are 2.90μV and 29.50 nA when the SPTA is actuated by a pressure of−40 *** also demonstrate that the relationship between the torsion angle and the magnetic flux change is approximately ***,the number of turns of wires,magnetic powders contents,and magnetic direction on the feedback voltage and current are *** show that the feedback voltage and current can be enhanced by increasing the number of turns and magnetic powders *** envision that the SPTA would be promising for soft robots to realize their accuracy control and intelligentization.

Objective: To investigate the expression of fragile histidine triad (FHIT) protein in normal colorectal tissue, colorectal adenoma and colorectal cancer (CRC), and to study the relationships between the expression of FHIT protein and the clinical pathology, the apoptosis-associated protein (Bcl-2, Bax, Survivin), apoptosis in colorectal cancer. Methods: Tissue microarray (TMA) and immunohistochemistry SP were used to detect the expression of FHIT gene, Bcl-2, Bax and Survivin in 16 cases of the normal colorectal tissue, 16 cases of colorectal adenoma and 80 cases of the colorectal cancer. TUNEL was used to detect the apoptosis index (AI) in 80 cases of the colorectal cancer. Results: (1) The positive rates of FHIT gene expression in normal colorectal tissue, colorectal adenoma and adenocancer were 93.75%, 68.75% and 46.25% respectively. There were no significant differences in the relationships between the FHIT gene expression and histological types, the gender as well as the age (P>0.05). There were significant relationships between FHIT gene expression and lymph node metastasis, histological grades, Duke’s system as well as the 5-year survival rate after operation. (2) The positive rates of Bax, Bcl-2 and Survivin in colorectal adenocancer were 72.50%, 51.25%, 77.50% respectively. The expression of FHIT gene was positively correlated with that of Bcl-2, Bax and Survivin. (3) The mean AI in FHIT negative tumors was significantly lower than that in FHIT positive tumors (P<0.01). Conclusion: FHIT gene may play a role in the oncogenesis and progression of colorectal cancer. The abnormal regulation of apoptosis may play an important role in the pathogenesis of colorectal cancer.

Long-lived lunar volcanism sustained by precession-driven core-mantle friction

Core-mantle friction induced by the precession of the Moon's spin axis is a strong heat source in the deep lunar mantle during the early phase of a satellite's evolution, but its influence on the long-term thermal evolution still remains poorly explored. Using a one-dimensional thermal evolution model, we show that core-mantle friction can sustain global-scale partial melting in the upper lunar mantle until ～3.1 Ga, thus accounting for the intense volcanic activity on the Moon before ～3.0 Ga. Besides, core-mantle friction tends to suppress the secular cooling of the lunar core and is unlikely to be an energy source for the long-lived lunar core dynamo. Our model also favours the transition of the Cassini state before the end of the lunar magma ocean phase(～4.2 Ga), which implies a decreasing lunar obliquity over time after the solidification of the lunar magma ocean. Such a trend of lunar obliquity evolution may allow volcanically released water to be buried in the lunar regolith of the polar regions. As a consequence, local water ice could be more abundant than previously thought when considering only its accumulation caused by solar wind and comet spreading.

Fast nuclear-spin gates and electrons−nuclei entanglement of neutral atoms in weak magnetic fields

We present a novel class of Rydberg-mediated nuclear-spin entanglement in divalent atoms with global laser ***,we show a fast nuclear-spin controlled phase gate of an arbitrary phase realizable either with two laser pulses when assisted by Stark shifts,or with three ***,we propose to create an electrons−nuclei-entangled state,which is named a super bell state(SBS)for it mimics a large Bell state incorporating three small Bell ***,we show a protocol to create a three-atom electrons-nuclei entangled state which contains the three-body W and Greenberger−Horne−Zeilinger(GHZ)states *** protocols possess high intrinsic fidelities,do not require single-site Rydberg addressing,and can be executed with large Rydberg Rabi frequencies in a weak,Gauss-scale magnetic *** latter two protocols can enable measurement-based preparation of Bell,hyperentangled,and GHZ states,and,specifically,SBS can enable quantum dense coding where one can share three classical bits of information by sending one particle.
