Application of a Three-dimensional Variational Method for Radar Reflectivity Data Correction in a Mudslide-inducing Rainstorm Simulation

Various types of radars with different horizontal and vertical detection ranges are deployed in China, particularly over complex terrain where radar blind zones are common. In this study, a new variational method is developed to correct threedimensional radar reflectivity data based on hourly ground precipitation observations. The aim of this method is to improve the quality of observations of various types of radar and effectively assimilate operational Doppler radar observations. A mudslide-inducing local rainstorm is simulated by the WRF model with assimilation of radar reflectivity and radial velocity data using LAPS（Local Analysis and Prediction System）. Experiments with different radar data assimilated by LAPS are performed. It is found that when radar reflectivity data are corrected using this variational method and assimilated by LAPS,the atmospheric conditions and cloud physics processes are reasonably described. The temporal evolution of radar reflectivity corrected by the variational method corresponds well to observed rainfall. It can better describe the cloud water distribution over the rainfall area and improve the cloud water analysis results over the central rainfall region. The LAPS cloud analysis system can update cloud microphysical variables and represent the hydrometeors associated with strong convective activities over the rainfall area well. Model performance is improved and the simulation of the dynamical processes and moisture transport is more consistent with observation.

采用水生生物毒性试验方法,开展了氨氮和亚硝酸盐氮对美洲鲥幼鱼的急性胁迫试验。采集美洲鲥幼鱼不同胁迫时间下的肝脏组织,测定其超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)、过氧化氢酶(CAT)和谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶(GPX)活性。结果表明,美洲鲥幼鱼在氨氮和亚硝酸盐氮胁迫24,48,72和96 h时,半致死浓度分别为70.20,53.00,46.80和46.50 mg/L和776.80,679.40,568.50和537.70 mg/L,安全浓度分别为4.65和53.80 mg/L。氨氮和亚硝酸盐氮胁迫下的SOD、CAT和GPX活性,均随时间的增加呈降低趋势,并在96 h时活性达到最低值。在氨氮胁迫下,SOD活性整体呈下降趋势,CAT和GPX活性在96 h时显著下降(P0.05)。

Aerosol influence domain of Beijing and peripheral city agglomeration and its climatic effect

The aerosol distribution in Beijing and peripheral cities agglomeration (BPCA) and its re- gional climatic effect are investigated on the basis of the statistical analyses of satellite Total Ozone Map- ping Spectrometer (TOMS) retrieval aerosol optical depth (AOD) and the meteorological data of sunshine duration, fog days, and low cloud cover, observed at Beijing and its peripheral meteorological stations. The analysis on multi-samples variational correction of the satellite remote sensing Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) AOD under the clear sky and stable weather condition in conjunction with surface observations reveal that there was a “triangle-like” distribution pattern of the high values of aerosols in the southern “valley” of the “U-shape” megarelief of Beijing and its peripheral areas. The distribution pattern suggests that the large-scale transfer and diffusion of city agglomeration pollutants might form a relatively persistent characteristic spatial distribution of city agglomeration pollutants much larger than city-scale. Under the background of the particular megarelief effect of Beijing and periph- eral areas, the high value area of TOMS AOD, as well as regional correlation distribution between clear sky sunshine duration and TOMS AOD are also similar to the composite image of MODIS AOD variational fields, that is to say, the effect of atmospheric aerosols was very distinctive in Beijing and peripheral areas. The high value area of the negative correlation between clear sky sunshine duration and TOMS AOD ap-proximately accorded with the significant negative value area of the sunshine duration deviations of the 1980s to the 1990s, and the daily variations of the AOD also showed an anti-phase relation with those of clear sky sunshine duration. The above high cor- relation area of the urban aerosol impact of Beijing- Tianjin region leant towards south peripheral area, with its “center of gravity” in the south of Beijing- Tianjin agglome

青藏高原冬春积雪异常对中国东部夏季降水频次和强度变化的影响

基于多种大气再分析和降水资料、青藏高原台站、卫星观测等高原冬春积雪资料,采用合成分析、相关分析、回归分析等多种数理统计以及理想数值模拟试验等方法,分析了青藏高原冬春积雪异常与中国东部夏季降水频次和强度变化的关联及可能原因。分析表明:(1)基于站点观测的高原积雪年际变化特征显著,大气再分析数据、卫星反演资料分析呈现出一致性变化趋势。(2)高原积雪异常对中国夏季降水频次与强度分布的影响具有显著的空间差异。高原冬春积雪偏多,使得我国华北、长江中下游地区夏季降水发生频次增加,但华北中雨和小雨类型的增加占比较大,而长江中下游地区则主要表现为大雨和暴雨发生频次增加的贡献。(3)积雪异常偏多年,高原热源作用减弱,500 hPa位势呈现清晰的“负—正—负”异常波列结构,西风急流位置偏南并加强,副高脊线偏南。在上述环流条件下,西北太平洋异常反气旋北侧的气旋性环流使得水汽输送停滞在长江中下游流域,伴随大气垂直运动增强,导致该区域强降水的强度增强、频次偏多;华北地区受“鞍型”场环流结构控制,虽然较小量级降水频次增加,但水汽输送较弱,降水强度变化不显著。上述研究结果,可为高原积雪异常相关的中国夏季降水变化及其短期预测提供预示性信号。

Synthesis, insecticidal activities and SAR studies of novel anthranilic diamides containing trifluoroethoxyl substituent and chiral amino acid moieties

Ryanodine receptors（RyRs） activator has become one class of popular insecticide because of its unique mode of action. In order to find more new RyRs activators as insecticidal agents, a series of 18 novel chiral anthranilic diamides were designed by introducing the D-alanine acid and D-serine acid esters as well as trifluoroethoxyl group into the anthranilic diamide skeleton and synthesized successfully based on anthranilic diamide and FKI-1033 structures. The structures of the title compounds Ia–i and IIa–i were confirmed by melting points,~1H NMR,^（13）C NMR, elemental analysis and specific optical rotation *** preliminary bioassay results indicated that most of the title compounds exhibited considerable larvicidal activities against oriental armyworm at 10 mg/L, especially Ib, Ie and IIh showed remarkable insecticidal activities at 0.5 mg/L. The larvicidal activity against diamondback moth of Ia and IId were 80%and 90% respectively at 0.0001 mg/L, which was similar to that of chlorantraniliprole. The relationship between structure and insecticidal activity was analyzed to reveal a possible co-regulated effect of the chiral amino acid ester, halogen atom or cyano group, and trifluoroethyloxyl group of the skeleton structures of the title compounds, which will provide useful information for guiding the design and discovery of new RyRs activators and insecticidal agrochemicals.

The continental shelf wave of the East China Sea and its effect on the Kuroshio

The free shelf wave theory is applied to the practical case of the continental shelf in the East China Sea to analyse the effects of the shelf wave on the Kuroshio. The results indicate that the shelf wave in lower frequency travels from north to south and its phase velocity is proportional to the Kuroshio's current velocity) the maximum current velocity of the Kuroshio lies at the continental margin. The analytical solutions obtained indicate that the hydrodynamic characters of the sea region over the shelf present band structure. The horizontal motion ( x -component) caused by the shelf wave at the margin may be one of the causes for generating wavy pattern of the Kuroshio's axis .

We present the systematic de Haas–van Alphen(d Hv A) quantum oscillations studies on the recently discovered topological Dirac semimetal pyrite PtBi2 single crystals. Remarkable d Hv A oscillations are emerged at a low field about 1.5 T. From the analyses of the d Hv A oscillations, we extract the high quantum mobilities, light effective masses and phase shift factors for the Dirac fermions in pyrite PtBi2. From the angular dependence of the d Hv A oscillations, we map out the topology of the Fermi ***, we identify two additional oscillation frequencies that are not probed by the Sd H oscillations, which provides us with opportunities to further understand its Fermi surface topology.

Based on the field investigation of 182 seismic hazard survey sites,combined with analysis of the aftershock sequence, focal mechanism, and seismo-tectonic background, we produced the seismic intensity map of the Hutubi M_S6.2 earthquake. The seismic intensity of the magistoseismic area is degree Ⅷ,with the orientation of long axis of isoseismic contour lines east-west. The Qingshuihezi fault is considered as the seismogenic fault of Hutubi M_S6.2
