This paper investigates the average-consensus problem of multi-agent systems with direct and weighted topologies. Event-triggered control laws are adopted so as to reduce the frequency of individual control updating since the agents may be resource-limited in many real systems. The discrete time instants where the events are triggered are determined by a trigger function with respect to a certain measurement error. A centralized average-consensus protocol is proposed first for networks with fixed interaction topology, the stability and influencing factors of which are also analyzed. The design of trigger functions for networks with variable topology is also discussed. Then the results are extended to the decentralized counterpart, in which agents require only the information of their neighbors. Numerical examples are also provided that demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

The stabilization properties of various typical complex dynamical networks composed of chaotic nodes are theoretically investigated and numerically simulated in detail. Some local stability properties of such pinned networks are derived and the valid stability regions are estimated based on eigenvalue analysis. Numerical simulations of such networks are given to explain why significantly less local controllers are needed by the specifically pinning scheme, which pins the most highly connected nodes in scale-free networks, than that required by the randomly pinning scheme. Also, it is explained why there is no significant difference between the two schemes for controlling random-graph networks and small-world networks.

In this paper, a new dynamical network model is introduced, in which the nodes of the network are different. It is shown that by the designed controllers, the state of the network can exponentially synchronize onto a homogeneous stationary state. Some criteria are derived and some examples are presented. The numerical simulations coincide with theoretical analysis.

An improved susceptible-infected-susceptible(SIS)model in the local-world evolving network model is presented to study the epidemic spreading behavior with time delay,which is added into the infected *** local-world evolving model displays a transition from the exponential network to the scale-free network with respect to the degree *** typical delay regimes,i.e.,uniform and degree-dependent delays are incorporated into the SIS epidemic model to investigate the epidemic infection processes in the local-world net-work *** results indicate that the infection delay will promote the epidemic outbreaks,increase the prevalence and reduce the critical threshold of epidemic *** is also found that local-world size M will considerably influence the epidemic spreading behavior with time delay in the local-world network through large-scale numerical *** results are also of relevance to fight epidemic outbreaks.

The detailed investigation of the dynamic epidemic spreading on homogeneous and heterogeneous networks was carried out. After the analysis of the basic epidemic models, the susceptible-infected-susceptible (SIS) model on homogenous and heterogeneous networks is established, and the dynamical evolution of the density of the infected individuals in these two different kinds of networks is analyzed theoretically. It indicates that heterogeneous networks are easier to propagate for the epidemics and the leading spreading behavior is dictated by the exponential increasing in the initial outbreaks. Large-scale simulations display that the infection is much faster on heterogeneous networks than that on homogeneous ones. It means that the network topology can have a significant effect on the epidemics taking place on complex networks. Some containment strategies of epidemic outbreaks are presented according to the theoretical analyses and numerical simulations.
