Tunable Adsorption and Desorption of Hydrogen Atoms on Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes

Chemical adsorption and desorption of hydrogen atoms on single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) are investigated by using molecular dynamics simulations. It is found that the adsorption and desorption energy of hydrogen atoms depend on the hydrogen coverage and the diameter of the SWNTs. Hydrogen-adsorption geometry at the coverage of 1.0 is more energetically stable. The adsorption energy decreases with the increasing diameter of the armchair tubes. The adsorption and desorption energy of hydrogen atoms can be modified reversibly by externally radial deformation. The averaged C-H bond energy on the high curvature sites of the deformed tube increases with increasing radial deformation, while that on the low curvature sites decreases

Formations of endohedral complexes in collisions of H_(2) and D_(2) with C_(60) molecules have been studied using a molecular dynamics simulation method.H@C_(60) complex is produced when a H_(2) molecule collides with a C_(60) molecule dong the direction from the center of a hexagonal ring into the center of the C_(60) at collision energy E0=40 *** the same collision condition,a D2 molecule colliding with a C_(60) molecule forms a D_(2)@C_(60) complex。

Si^+ ions of 350 keV have been implanted into AlGaAs/AlGaInAs quantum well samples in the dose range from 5×10^13cm^-2to 5×10^14cm^-2. The Raman spectra and high resolution x-ray diffraction (HRXRD) were measured from these implanted samples as well as the non-implanted sample. In the implanted layers the average strain which was evaluated by HRXRD increases with the implantation doses and varies from 0.0011 to 0.0029. The quantum well interface intermixing effect and compositional modification are also observed from HRXRD. At the higher doses, an abnormal annealing procedure takes place and it partly removes damage, but the strain remains almost unchanged in the epilayers.

We study solitons in a spin-1 Bose–Einstein condensates with SU(3)spin–orbit *** obtain the ground state and the metastable solution for solitons with attractive interactions by the imaginary-time evolution *** with the SU(2)spin–orbit coupling,it is found that the solitons in SU(3)spin–orbit coupling show a new feature due to breaking the *** solitons called the composite solitons have mixing manifolds of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic *** has stimulated people to study the topological excitation properties of SU(3)spin–orbit coupling and it is expected to find new quantum phases.

Long noncoding RNA(lncRNA)regulates the proliferation and migration of human retinal endothelial cells,as well as retinal neovascularization in diabetic *** on similarities between the pathogenesis of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP)and diabetic retinopathy,lncRNA may also play a role in ***-day-old mice were administered 75±2% oxygen for 5 days and normoxic air for another 5 days to establish a ROP *** of lncRNA and mRNA in the retinal tissue of mice was detected by high-throughput sequencing technology,and biological functions of the resulted differentially expressed RNAs were evaluated by Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes *** results showed that compared with the control group,57 lncRNAs were differentially expressed,including 43 upregulated and 14 downregulated,in the retinal tissue of ROP *** with control mice,42 mRNAs were differentially expressed in the retinal tissue of ROP mice,including 24 upregulated and 18 downregulated *** expressed genes were involved in ocular development and related metabolic *** differentially expressed lncRNAs may regulate ROP in mice via microRNAs and multiple signaling *** results revealed that these differentially expressed lncRNAs may be therapeutic targets for ROP *** study was approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University on February 25,2016(approval No.2016PS074K).

Elemental information carried by phytoliths plays a crucial indicative role in geochemical *** instance,it serves as an indicator of the carbon pool effect in phytoliths and aids in the elucidation of silicon ***,early extraction methods for soil phytoliths primarily focused on obtaining their morphological and quantitative information,lacking efficient techniques for quantitative elemental *** this study,we aimed to extract Si/Al information from soil *** the need for complete extraction of phytolith,six extraction methods were developed and further by alkaline dissolution to determine Si/*** methods were compared in terms of enrichment capacity,the weight of extracted phytoliths,and Si/Al *** results indicated that the addition of Ammonia-Catechol in the commonly used heavy liquid flotation method effectively improved phytolith extraction capability and the accuracy of Si/Al ***,the inclusion of an acetic acid step before alkaline dissolution further removed surface-adsorbed impurities and enhanced the analytical quality of Si/Al in *** comparison of the data in this study with other published data shows that our method is relatively *** improved method proposed in this study can provide a new idea for the quantitative analysis of other elements in soil phytoliths.

In this study,the heat transfer characteristics of nanofluids used in spray cooling systems were *** nanofluids,i.e.,Cu,CuO,and Al2 O3,respectively,with volume fractions ranging from 0.1%to0.5%,as well as different volume fractions of a surfactant Tween 20,were *** addition,their contact angles were measured to examine the heat-transfer *** the same experimental conditions,with the increase in the volume fraction of the Cu nanoparticles from 0.1%to 0.5%,the maximum heat flux qmax increased from 3.36 MW/m2 to 3.48 MW/m2 from the impinging central point to r=30 mm(r is the distance from the impingement point),and the corresponding temperature of qmax increased from 400℃to 420℃.Results revealed that with increasing Tween 20 concentrations,the contact angle decreased because of the decrease in the surface tension of nanofluids and improvement of the wetting ability,and the corresponding qmax increased from 3.48 MW/m2 to 3.94 MW/m2 at the impact central point.
