Chinese classical culture is an organic system shared by Chinese nation for 5000 years,taking Confu-cianism as the base and including various other ideological and cultural contents.This article introduces the transmission of Chinese classical culture from Confucian classics translation,promotion of Chinese cultural spirit,writing academic dissertations on the subject of China,translation of Chinese classical literature,introduction of Chinese painting and cal-ligraphy,and ilustration of Chinese local religions.

Brain is often called the last frontier in science[1].It is such an important organ that controls our mind and behavior,yet we know so little about it.The gel-like tissue is probably the most complicated object in the universe because it contains about 100 billion nerve cells,equal to the number of stars in our galaxy,the Milky Way.Each neuron is connected to thousands of other nerve cells by up to 40,000 individual connections called synapses。

In traditional cancer therapy,including chemo and radiation therapy,the goal is always to kill as much cancer cells as possible.However,the truth is that it is difficult to kill 100%of the cancer cells for these therapies and the remaining cells often leads to relapse.So the million-dollar question is,how to eliminate the majority of the remaining cancer cells so that the disease can be manageable in a clinical setting.Currently the best approach that is attracting much attention is cancer immune therapy and exciting developments in this field have led to cure in some cases

Owing to their excellent performance and large design space,curvilinear fiber-reinforced composite structures have gained considerable attention in engineering fields such as aerospace and automobile.In addition to the stiffness and strength of such structures,their stability also needs to be taken into account in the design.This study proposes a level-set-based optimization framework for maximizing the buckling load of curvilinear fiber-reinforced composite structures.In the proposed method,the contours of the level set function are used to represent fiber paths.For a composite laminate with a certain number of layers,one level set function is defined by radial basis functions and expansion coefficients for each layer.Furthermore,the fiber angle at an arbitrary point is the tangent orientation of the contour through this point.In the finite element of buckling,the stiffness and geometry matrices of an element are related to the fiber angle at the element centroid.This study considers the parallelism constraint for fiber paths.With the sensitivity calculation of the objective and constraint functions,the method of moving asymptotes is utilized to iteratively update all the expansion coefficients regarded as design variables.Two numerical examples under different boundary conditions are given to validate the proposed approach.Results show that the optimized curved fiber paths tend to be parallel and equidistant regardless of whether the composite laminates contain holes or not.Meanwhile,the buckling resistance of the final design is significantly improved.

The current research on noncircular hobbing mainly focuses on the linkage model and motion realization.However,the intermittent cutting characteristics of hobbing would increase uncertainties in the manufacturing process.In this paper,a hobbing machining model with tool-shifting characteristics was proposed to solve the problems of cutting force fluctuation and inconsistency of tooth profile envelope accuracy at different positions of the pitch curve in noncircular gear hobbing.Based on the unit cutting force coefficient method,the undeformed chip volume generated by interrupted cutting was used to characterize the fluctuation trend of the hobbing force.The fluctuation characteristics of the cutting force generated by different hobbing models were compared and analyzed.Using the equivalent gear tooth and hob slotting numbers,an analysis model of the tooth profile envelope error of the noncircular gear was constructed.Subsequently,the tooth profile envelope errors at different positions of the pitch curve were compared and analyzed based on the constructed model.The transmission structure of the electronic gearbox was constructed based on the proposed hobbing model,and the hobbing experiment was conducted based on the selfdeveloped noncircular gear CNC hobbing system.This paper proposes a hobbing method that can effectively suppress the fluctuation of the peak and whole circumference cutting force and reduce the maximum envelope error of the whole circumference gear teeth.

Among the numerous health conditions environmental pollutants can cause, chronic exposure to pollutants including persistent organic pollutants（POPs） and heavy metals has been shown to disturb a specific biological homeostatic process, the iron metabolism in human body. Disorders of iron metabolism are among the common diseases of humans and encompass a broad spectrum of diseases with different clinical manifestations, ranging from anemia to iron overload, and possibly to neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.Hepcidin–ferroportin（FPN） signaling is one of the key mechanisms responsible for iron supply, utilization, recycling, and storage, and recent studies demonstrated that exposure to environmental pollutants including POPs and heavy metals could lead to disruption of the hepcidin–FPN axis along with disordered systemic iron homeostasis and diseases. This article introduces and highlights the accompanying review article by Drs. Xu and Liu in this journal, which elaborates in detail the adverse effects of environmental pollutants on iron metabolism, and the mechanisms responsible for these toxicological outcomes. It also points out the knowledge gaps still existing in this subject matter. Research that will fill these gaps will improve our understanding of the issue and provide useful information to prevent or treat diseases induced by environmental pollutants.

In this context,a testing system to understand rock fracturing processes induced by different dynamic disturbances under true triaxial compression was developed.The system is mainly composed of a static loading subsystem,a dynamic loading subsystem,a specimen box subsystem,and a data measurement subsystem.The static loading subsystem uses low stiffness loss frame structure technology,which greatly improves the frame stiffness in the three principal stress directions(up to 20 GN/m)and ensures the demand of the disturbance experiment in both the prepeak and postpeak stages.The disturbance loads with frequency of 0e20 Hz and stress level of 0e30 MPa were applied using large flow parallel oil source technology characterized with high heat dissipation efficiency.For the disturbance loads with frequency of 100e500 Hz and stress level of 0e30 MPa,they were realized by using high-frequency and centimeter-per-second-scale low-speed disturbance rod technology.Three rigid self-stabilizing specimen boxes were utilized to provide support for the specimen and deformation sensors,ensuring the stability and accuracy of the data obtained.To verify the performance of the true triaxial test system,disturbance experiments were conducted on granite specimens.The results show that the experimental device satisfies the requirements of original design,with an excellent repeatability and reliable testing results.
