Fluoxetine ameliorates symptoms of refractory chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome

Background Category Ⅲ chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome （CP/CPPS） is a common syndrome of unclear etiology with significant impact on quality of life. Because the outcomes of multiple therapies for CP/CPPS have been far from approving, the possible psychological factors have been considered to play an important role in CP/*** on this, we investigated the role of antidepressant drug （fluoxetine） in men with refractory CP/*** In this study, 42 men diagnosed with refractory CP/CPPS without response to standard therapy （include multiple antibiotic courses and a-blockers） were referred for fluoxetine therapy. All patients received fluoxetine （20 mg/d） for three months and were clinically evaluated before （baseline）, and after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of therapy. The evaluation included a National Institutes of Health-chronic prostatitis symptom index （NIH-CPSI） and a Beck depression inventory （BDI） questionnaire. Moreover, the subjective global assessment （SGA） was assessed at the 4th, 8th and 12th week of *** Significant decreases were observed for total NIH-CPSI （28.55 to 9.29）, NIH-CPSI pain （14.69 to 5.19）,NIH-CPSI urinary （4.95 to 1.88 ）, NIH-CPSI quality of life （8.83 to 2.20）, and BDI （34.67 to 13.95） scores compared with baseline, all P values ＜0.05. Twenty-nine （69.05%） reported marked improvement on the subjective global assessment and 33 （78.57%） had a greater than 50% decrease in NIH-CPSI at the end of therapy （12th week）. At the same time, the Pearson correlation coefficient analysis demonstrated a positive correlation between BDI score and each CPSI score. No adverse events were reported in this *** Fluoxetine appears to be a safe and effective treatment in improving symptoms in, and the quality of life of, men with difficult CP/CPPS. Moreover, amelioration of difficult CP/CPPS-related symptoms could be related to a decrease in depressive symptoms.

Prostatic calculi influence the antimicrobial efficacy in men with chronic bacterial prostatitis

We studied the efficacy of culture-specific antibiotic therapy for chronic bacterial prostatitis （CBP） patients with or without prostatic calculi. This study included 101 patients （21-62 years old） who met the consensus criteria for CBP （National Institutes of Health category II）. According to the results of transrectal ultrasonography （TRUS）, all patients were divided into two groups： Group 1, CBP with prostatic calculi, n=39; Group 2, CBP without prostatic calculi, n=62. All patients received optimal antimicrobial therapy for 4 weeks and followed up for a minimum of 3 months （range： 3-8 months）. In addition to expressed prostatic secretions （EPS） and urine culture, all patients were asked to complete the National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index （NIH-CPSI） and the subjective global assessment （SGA）. The microbiological eradication rate at the end of treatment were 32/39 （82.1%） and 54/62 （87.1%）, while the rates for continued eradication at the end of study were 17/39 （43.6%） and 45/62 （72.6%） in Group I and Group 2 （P〈0.01）, respectively. We observed a decrease in the total NIH-CPSI score median values from 24 to 19 in Group I and from 24 to 11 in Group 2. The pain subscore （P〈0.01）, urinary sunscore （P〈0.05） and quality of life （QoL; P〈0.05） as well as the total NIH-CPSI score （P〈0.01） were significantly improved after antimicrobial treatment in Group 2 compared to Group 1. Response, defined as a decrease of the NI H-CPSI total score by at least 50%, was seen in Group I versusGroup 2 in 38.5% and 58.1% （P〈0.01）, respectively. Our results showed that prostatic calculi influence the antimicrobial efficacy in men with CBP, There was a noticeable decrease in the cure rate of CBP patients with prostatic calculi due to relapse after antimicrobial therapy.

It's a challenge for detecting the therapeutic targets of a polypharmacological drug from variations in the responsed networks in thedfferentiated populations with complex diseases,as stable coronary heart ***,in an adaptive,31-center,randomized,double-blind trial invoving 920 patients with moderate symptomatic stable angina treated by 14-day danhong injection(DHI),a kind of polyphamacological drug with high quality control,or placebo(0.9%saline),with 76-day following-up,we firstly confrmed that DHl couldincrease the proportion of patients with clinically significant changes on angina-frequency assessed by Seattle Angina Questionnaire(ASAQ-AF220)(12.78%at Day 30,95%confidence interval[C]5.86-19.71%,P=0.0003,13.82%at Day 6C0,95%CI 6.82-20.82%,P=0.0001and 8.95%at Day 90,95%CI 2.06-15.85%,P=0.01).We also found that there were no significant differences in new-onset major vascularevents(P=0.8502)and serious adverse events(P=0.9105)between DHl and *** performing the RNA sequencing in 62 selectedpatients,we developed a systemic modular approach tp identfy differentilly expressed modules(DEMs)of DHI with the Z_(summay)valueless than 0 compared with the control group,calculated by weighted gene co-expression network analysis(WGCNA),and sketched out thebasic framework on a modular map with 25 functional modules targeted by ***,the effective therapeutic module(ETM),defined as the highest corelation value with the phenotype alteration(SAQ-AF,the change in SAQ-AF at Day 30 from baseline)calculatedby WGCNA,was identifed in the population with the best effect(ASAQ-AF240),which is related to anticoagulation and regulation ofcholesterol *** assessed the modular flexbility of this ETM using the global topological D value based on Euclidean distance,which is corelated with phenotype alteration(r^(2):0.8204,P=0.019)by linear *** study identified the ant-angina therapeuticmodule in the effective population treated by the multi-target

BACKGROUND The efficacy and safety of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9(PCSK-9) inhibitors were confirmed by several clinical trials, but its effectiveness in routine clinical practice in China has not been evaluated. This study aims to describe the real world effectiveness of PCSK-9 inhibitors combined with statins compared with statins-based therapy among patients with very high risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD).METHODS This is a multi-center observational study, enrolled patients from 32 hospitals who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) from January to june in 2019. There are 453 patients treated with PCSK-9 inhibitors combined with statins in PCSK-9 inhibitor group and 2,610 patients treated with statins-based lipid lowering therapies in statins-based group. The lipid control rate and incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE) over six months were compared between two groups.A propensity score-matched(PSM) analysis was used to balance two groups on confounding factors. Survival analysis using Kaplan-Meier methods was applied for *** In a total of 3,063 patients, 89.91% of patients had received moderate or high-intensity statins-based therapy before PCI, but only 9.47% of patients had low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) levels below 1.4 mmol/L at baseline. In the PSM selected patients, LDL-C level was reduced by 42.57% in PCSK-9 inhibitor group and 30.81%(P < 0.001) in statins-based group after six months. The proportion of LDL-C ≤ 1.0 mmol/L increased from 5.29% to 29.26% in PCSK-9 inhibitor group and 0.23% to 6.11% in statins-based group, and the proportion of LDL-C ≤ 1.4 mmol/L increased from 10.36% to 47.69% in PCSK-9 inhibitor group and 2.99% to 18.43% in statins-based group(P < 0.001 for both). The Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope（LAMOST） general survey is a spectroscopic survey that will eventually cover approximately half of the celestial sphere and collect 10 million spectra of stars, galaxies and QSOs. Objects in both the pilot survey and the first year regular survey are included in the LAMOST DR1. The pilot survey started in October 2011 and ended in june 2012, and the data have been released to the public as the LAMOST Pilot Data Release in August 2012. The regular survey started in September 2012, and completed its first year of operation in june 2013. The LAMOST DR1 includes a total of 1202 plates containing 2 955 336 spectra, of which 1 790 879 spectra have observed signalto-noise ratio（SNR） ≥ 10. All data with SNR ≥ 2 are formally released as LAMOST DR1 under the LAMOST data policy. This data release contains a total of 2 204 696 spectra, of which 1 944 329 are stellar spectra, 12 082 are galaxy spectra and 5017 are quasars. The DR1 not only includes spectra, but also three stellar catalogs with measured parameters： late A,FGK-type stars with high quality spectra（1 061 918 entries）, A-type stars（100 073 entries）, and M-type stars（121 522 entries）. This paper introduces the survey design, the observational and instrumental limitations, data reduction and analysis, and some caveats. A description of the FITS structure of spectral files and parameter catalogs is also provided.

Objectives:To develop a new Chinese medicine(CM)-based drug and to evaluate its safety and effect for suppressing acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)in COVID-19 ***:A putative ARDS-suppressing drug Keguan-1 was first developed and then evaluated by a randomized,controlled two-arm *** two arms of the trial consist of a control therapy(alpha interferon inhalation,50(x g twice daily;and lopinavir/ritonavir,400 and 100 mg twice daily,respectively)and a testing therapy(control therapy plus Keguan-119.4 g twice daily)by random number table at 1:1 ratio with 24 cases each *** 2-week treatment,adverse events,time to fever resolution,ARDS development,and lung injury on newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients were ***:An analysis of the data from the first 30 participants showed that the control arm and the testing arm did not exhibit any significant differences in terms of adverse *** on this result,the study was expanded to include a total of 48 participants(24 cases each arm).The results show that compared with the control arm,the testing arm exhibited a significant improvement in time to fever resolution(P=0.035),and a significant reduction in the development of ARDS(P=0.048).Conclusions:Keguan-1-based integrative therapy was safe and superior to the standard therapy in suppressing the development of ARDS in COVID-19 patients.(Trial registration *** 04251871 at ***).

This paper describes the data release of the LAMOST pilot survey, which includes data reduction, calibration, spectral analysis, data products and data access. The accuracy of the released data and the information about the FITS headers of spectra are also introduced. The released data set includes 319 000 spectra and a catalog of these objects.

BACKGROUND Autoimmune liver disease(AILD)has been considered a relatively uncommon disease in China,epidemiological data for AILD in patients with cirrhosis and acute decompensation(AD)is *** To investigate the prevalence,outcome and risk factors for AILD in cirrhotic patients complicated with AD in *** We collected data from patients with cirrhosis and AD from two prospective,multicenter cohorts in hepatitis B virus endemic *** were regularly followed up at the end of 28-d,90-d and 365-d,or until death or liver transplantation(LT).The primary outcome in this study was 90-d LTfree ***-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)was assessed on admission and during 28-d hospitalization,according to the diagnostic criteria of the European Association for the Study of the Liver(EASL).Risk factors for death were analyzed with logistic regression *** In patients with cirrhosis and AD,the overall prevalence of AILD was 9.3%(242/2597).Prevalence of ACLF was significantly lower in AILD cases(14%)than those with all etiology groups with cirrhosis and AD(22.8%)(P<0.001).Among 242 enrolled AILD patients,the prevalence rates of primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC),autoimmune hepatitis(AIH)and PBC-AIH overlap syndrome(PBC/AIH)were 50.8%,28.5%and 12.0%,*** ACLF patients,the proportions of PBC,AIH and PBC/AIH were 41.2%,29.4% and 20.6%.28-d and 90-d mortality were 43.8% and 80.0% in AILD-related *** etiology of AILD had no significant impact on 28-d,90-d or 365-d LTfree mortality in patients with cirrhosis and AD in both univariate and multivariate *** bilirubin(TB),hepatic encephalopathy(HE)and blood urea nitrogen(BUN)were independent risk factors for 90-d LT-free mortality in multivariate *** development of ACLF during hospitalization only independently correlated to TB and international normalized *** AILD was not rare in hospitalized patients with cirrhosis and AD in China,among which PBC was the m
