Release characteristics and stabilization of heavy metals in antimony tailings in Yunnan province,China

The pollution caused by the mining and smelting of heavy metals is becoming an increasingly severe environmental *** this study,the environmental risks of mine tailings were explored using typical antimony tailings(the depth of the sample taken from the ground to the deepest position of 120 cm)from the Zuoxiguo mine in Yunnan province,Southwest *** tailings were examined to explore the geological background,distribution characteristics,and release characteristics of heavy ***,stabilizer treatments for heavy metals were investigated in consideration of waste *** results showed that the contents of Sb and As(8.93×103 and 425 mg/kg,respectively)in the tailings were considerably higher than the local soil background values,suggesting that these metals pose a considerable threat to the surrounding *** geological background values of Cr,Cd,pb,Cu,and Zn were relatively *** results of static release showed that Sb,As,Cd,and Cr leached from the tailings more easily than Cu,Zn,and pb under acidic conditions(pH=2.98).Geo-accumulation indices and potential ecological risk indices showed that Sb,As,Cd,and pb were highly enriched in the tailings,whereas Cu,Cr,and Zn contents were relatively *** single factor ecological risk index of the mining area showed that Sb and As are high ecological risk factors,whereas Cr,Cu,Zn,Cd,and pb are *** results of the orthogonal test results showed that by adding 15.0%(m/m)fly ash and 15.0%(m/m)zeolite powder to the quicklime and curing for 28 d,a significant stabilization effect was observed for Sb,As,and *** study helps determine the priority control components for characteristic heavy metals in antimony tailings,and provides valuable insights regarding the formulation of appropriate mitigation strategies.

Tailored heterostructured Ni_(3)N-NiO nano-frameworks for boosting electrocatalytic oxygen evolution via surface-modulated plasma strategy

The facile reconfiguration of phases plays a pivotal role in enhancing the electrocatalytic production of H2 through heterostructure *** chemical methods have been explored extensively for this purpose,plasma-based techniques offer a promising avenue for achieving heterostructured ***,the conventional plasma approach introduces complexities,leading to a multi-step fabrication process and challenges in precisely controlling partial surface structure modulation due to the intricate interaction *** our pursuit of heterostructures with optimized oxygen evolution reaction(OER)behavior,we have designed a facile auxiliary insulator-confined plasma system to directly attain a Ni_(3)N-NiO heterostructure(hNiNO).By meticulously controlling the surface heating process during plasma processing,such approach allows for the streamlined fabrication of hNiNO *** resulting nano-framework exhibits outstanding catalytic performance,as evidenced by its overpotential of 320 mV at a current density of 10 mA·cm^(-2),in an alkaline *** stands in stark contrast to the performance of NiO-covered Ni_(3)N fabricated using the conventional plasma method(sNiNO).Operando plasma diagnostics,coupled with numerical simulations,further substantiates the influence of surface heating due to auxiliary insulator confinement of the substrate on typical plasma parameters and the formation of the Ni_(3)N-NiO nanostructure,highlighting the pivotal role of controlled surface temperature in creating a high-performance heterostructured electrocatalyst.

Strain-promoted S-arylation and alkenylation of sulfinamides using arynes and cyclic alkynes

The conversion of commercially available chiral sulfinamides into pharmaceutically useful chiral sulfoximines via direct SIVfunctionalization is synthetically attractive but challenging due to the competitive reaction of N-functionalization. Herein, we disclose a novel strain-release strategy to access stereospecific and chemoselective SIV-arylation and alkenylation of sulfinamides using arynes and strained cyclic alkynes. This method tolerates an unprecedented chemical diversity of functional groups attached to the nitrogen center(N-R). The origin of the high SIV-selectivity is elucidated by density functional theory calculations, suggesting a stepwise mechanism for the aryne substrates and a concerted mechanism for the cyclic alkynes.

A semantic vector map-based approach for aircraft positioning in GNSS/GpS denied large-scale environment

Accurate positioning is one of the essential requirements for numerous applications of remote sensing data,especially in the event of a noisy or unreliable satellite *** this end,we present a novel framework for aircraft geo-localization in a large range that only requires a downward-facing monocular camera,an altimeter,a compass,and an open-source Vector Map(VMAp).The algorithm combines the matching and particle filter *** vector and correlation between two building contour vectors are defined,and a coarse-to-fine building vector matching(CFBVM)method is proposed in the matching stage,for which the original matching results are described by the Gaussian mixture model(GMM).Subsequently,an improved resampling strategy is designed to reduce computing expenses with a huge number of initial particles,and a credibility indicator is designed to avoid location mistakes in the particle filter *** experimental evaluation of the approach based on flight data is *** a flight at a height of 0.2 km over a flight distance of 2 km,the aircraft is geo-localized in a reference map of 11,025 km~2using 0.09 km~2aerial images without any prior *** absolute localization error is less than 10 m.

Mitigating the negative catalytic effect of CuO by FAS-17 coated Al nanopowder:Isothermal ageing of Al/CuO nanothermite at 71°C and 60%relative humidity

Saccharides are a sort of ubiquitous and vital molecules within the whole ***,the application of saccharides analysis with matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry(MALDI-MS)is restricted by their low ionization efficiency and the instability of the sialic acid *** strategy based on nonreductive amination provides a good solution,however,this is often time consuming and may result in sample loss due to removal of excessive derivatization ***,hydralazine(HZN)was utilized as a reactive matrix for labeling reducing saccharides directly on MALDI target which eliminated tedious sample preparation and avoided sample *** optimization,effective and reproducible on-MALDI-target derivatization of neutral and acidic saccharides was achieved in both positive and negative *** with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid(DHB)and 9-aminoacridine(9-AA),HZN improved the detection sensitivity of reducing saccharides and provided more abundant fragment ions in MS/MS ***,26 kinds of neutral glycans and 5 kinds of sialic glycans were identified from ovalbumin(OVA)and bovine fetuin,*** with the statistical models,this strategy could be used to distinguish and predict samples of 6 brands of beer,and discriminate 2 kinds of beer fermentation *** addition,HZN was applied for quantitative analysis of glucose in urine samples,and the obtained urine glucose concentrations of diabetic patients were consistent with the clinical test results,showing the potential of qualitative and quantitative analysis of reducing saccharides in complex samples.

Tuning the selectivity of CO_(2)conversion to CO on partially reduced Cu_(2)O/ZnO heterogeneous interface

The development of stable and efficient low-cost electrocatalysts is conducive to the industrialization of CO_(2).The synergy effect between the heterogeneous interface of metal/oxide can promote the conversion of CO_(2).In this work,Cu_(2)O/ZnO heterostructures with partially reduced metal/oxide heterointerfaces in Zn plates(CZZ)have been synthesized for CO_(2)electroreduction in different cationic solutions(K^(+)and Cs^(+)).physical characterizations were used to demonstrate the heterojunction of Cu_(2)O/ZnO and the heterointerfaces of metal/oxide,electrochemical tests were used to illustrate the enhancement of the selectivity of CO_(2)to CO in different cationic *** efficiency for CO with CZZ as catalyst reaches 70.9%in K+solution(current density for CO−3.77 mA cm^(−2)and stability 24 h),and the Faraday efficiency for CO is 55.2%in Cs^(+)solution(−2.47 mA cm^(−2)and 21 h).In addition,in situ techniques are used to elucidate possible reaction mechanisms for the conversion of CO_(2)to CO in K^(+)and Cs^(+)solutions.

This work demonstrates a novel polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte consisting of methyl methacrylate,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and fluoroethylene *** polymerization of MMA was initiated by the amino compounds following an anionic catalytic *** plays both roles including the initiator and Li ion source in the polymer ***,lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide has difficulty in initiating the polymerization reaction of methyl methacrylate monomer,a very high concentration of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide is needed for initiating the ***,the fluoroethylene carbonate additive can work as a supporter to facilitate the degree of dissociation of lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide and increase its initiator capacity due to the high dielectric *** as-prepared poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymer electrolyte has a high ionic conductivity(1.19×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)),a wide electrochemical stability window(5 V vs Li^(+)/Li),and a high Li ion transference number(t_(Li^(+)))of 0.74 at room temperature(RT).Moreover,this polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte can effectively work as an artificial protective layer on Li metal anode,which enabled the Li symmetric cell to achieve a long-term cycling performance at 0.2 mAh cm^(−2)for 2800 *** LiFepO_(4)battery with polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte-modified Li metal anode shows a capacity retention of 91.17%after 800 cycles at 0.5 *** work provides a facile and accessible approach to manufacturing poly-methyl methacrylate-based polymerization-derived polymer electrolyte and shows great potential as an interphase in Li metal batteries.
