Recently,an extreme narrowband spectral response of only 8 nm in electronic-grade diamond-based photodetectors has been observed by Zheng Wei and his colleagues from Sun Yat-sen University for the first time.A charge collection narrowing mechanism assisted by free exciton radiative recombination is proposed,which well reveals the characteristic spectral response of diamond.

Extreme events have become increasingly frequent worldwide which are reflected in diverse changes in the shape of the temperature probability density ***,few studies have paid attention to the heterogeneity of temperature at the scale of climate ***,we use the ERA5-land data set to explore interdecadal summer temperature changes and the distribution across different climate zones from 1981 to *** the minimum(Tmin)and maximum(Tmax)temperature of 1982–1991 and 2010–2019,the results imply that Tmin and Tmax in summer maintained a notable upward trend over the past 40 years,especially *** effects of a simple shift toward a warmer climate contributed most to all climate zones,while the standard deviation,skewness and kurtosis had minor effects on extreme temperature except for *** analysis shows that the probability of extreme events in all climate zones is increasing in frequency and intensity,especially Tmin and Tmax in temperate climate *** diverse reasons for climate change can assist us with taking different measures to address extreme climate in distinct climate zones.

Highly-efficient oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurtural(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA) at low temperature with air as the oxidant is still ***,inspired by the respirato ry electron transport chain(ETC) of living cells mediated by electron carriers,we constructed artificial ETCs and transformed liquid flow fuel cells(LFFCs) to flexible reactors for efficient oxidation of HMF to produce FDCA under mild *** LFFC reactor employed an electrodeposition modified nickel foam as an anode to promote HMF oxidation and(VO_(2))_(2)SO_(4) as a cathode electron carrier to facilitate the electron transfer to *** reaction rate could be easily controlled by selecting the anode catalyst,adjusting the external loading and changing the cathodic electron carrier or oxidants.A maximal power density of 44.9 mW cm^(-2) at room temperature was achieved,while for FDCA production,short-circuit condition was preferred to achieve quick transfer of *** a single batch operation with 0.1 M initial HMF,FDCA yield reached 97.1%.By fed-batch operation,FDCA concentration reached 144.5 g L^(-1) with a total yield of 96%.Ni^(2+)/Ni^(3+) redox couple was the active species mediating the electron transfer,while both experimental and DFT calculation results indicated that HMFCA pathway was the preferred reaction mechanism.

The study focused on the effects of the interaction between axial and radial secondary air and the reductive intensity in reduction region on combustion characteristics and NO_(x) emission in a 30 kW preheating combustion *** results revealed that the interaction and reductive intensity influenced the combustion in the down-fired combustor(DFC) and NO_(x) emission *** the temperature distribution,the interaction caused the position of the main combustion region to shift down as R_(2-12)(ratio of axial secondary air flow to radial secondary air flow) decreased or λ_(2)(total secondary air ratio) increased,and there was the interplay between both of their *** R_(3-12)(ratio of first-staged tertiary air flow to second-staged tertiary air flow)increased,the decrease in the reductive intensity also caused the above phenomenon,and the peak temperature increased in this *** the NO_(x) emission,the interaction affected the NO_(x) reduction adversely when λ_(2) or R_(2-12) was higher,and the range of this effect was larger,so that the NO_x emission increased obviously as they *** decrease in the reductive intensity caused the NO_(x) emission increased under the homogeneous reduction mechanism,while was unchanged at a high level under the heterogeneous reduction *** the combustion efficiency,the interaction improved the combustion efficiency as λ_(2) increased when R_(2-12) was lower,while reduced it as λ_(2) increased excessively when R_(2-12) was *** proper decrease in the reductive intensity caused the combustion efficiency increased obviously,while was hardly improved further when the intensity decreased *** this study,the lowest NO_(x) emission was only 41.75 mg/m^(3) without sacrificing the combustion efficiency by optimizing the interaction and reductive intensity.

Additive manufacturing technology based on laser powder bed fusion(LpBF)offers a novel approach for fabricating bulk metallic glass(BMG)products without restriction in size and ***,the BMGs prepared by LpBF usually suffered from less plasticity and poorer fracture toughness as compared to their cast counterparts due to partial crystallization in heat-affected zones(HAZs).Since crystallization in HAZs is hard to avoid completely in LpBF BMGs,it is desirable to design a suitable alloy system,in which only ductile crystalline phase,instead of brittle intermetallics,is formed in *** unique structure could effectively increase the toughness/plasticity of the LpBF *** achieve this goal,a quaternary BMG system with a composition of Zr_(47.5)Cu_(45.5)Al_(5)Co_(2)is adopted and subjected to *** is found that nearly a single phase of B_(2)-ZrCu is precipitated in HAZs,while a fully amorphous phase is formed in molten pools(Mps).This B_(2)phase reinforced BMG composite exhibits excellent mechanical properties with enhanced plasticity and ***,it is easy to modulate the mechanical properties by altering the amount of the B_(2)phase via adjusting the laser energy ***,the best combination of strength,plasticity,and notch toughness is obtained in the BMG composite containing 27.4%B_(2)phase and 72.6%amorphous phase,which exhibits yield strength(σ_(s))of 1423 Mpa,plastic strain(ε_(p))of 4.65%,and notch toughness(K_(q))of 53.9 Mpa m 1/***,a notable strain-hardening is also *** improvement of plasticity/toughness and appearance of strain-hardening behavior are mainly due to the martensite phase transformation from the B_(2)phase to the Cm phase during plastic deformation(i.e.,the phase transformation-induced plasticity effect).The current work provides a guide for making advanced BMGs and BMG composites by additive manufacturing.

Thermoplastic polycarbonate polyurethanes(pCUs) are multiblock copolymers that have been applied for medical devices for long time. Aliphatic diols are common chain extenders(CE) involved in the composition of the hard segments of pCU. However, limited knowledge was discovered about how the chemical structure of CE affects the hydrogen bonding organization within pCUs and their mechanical *** investigate this problem, a group of pCUs were synthesized respectively by extending the polymer chain with 1,4-butanediol(BDO),aminoethanol(MEA), ethanediol(EO) as three kinds of chain extenders. Tiny differences in the CE chemical structure results in remarkable variations in phase separation, condensed morphologies, thermal and mechanical properties, which are characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer, atomic force microscopy, small-angle x-ray scattering, differential scanning calorimetry, and tensile tests. The microstructural evolution during unilateral deformation and the different mechanism induced by the different CEs was probed and unveil by in situ wide-and small-angle x-ray diffraction. Symmetry of CE can improve the organization of the hydrogen bonding. The coherence strength of the urethane/urea group also plays a key role by comparing the two pCUs with ethanediol and aminoethanol.

The most critical part of a neutron computed tomography(NCT) system is the image processing algorithm,which directly affects the quality and speed of the reconstructed *** types of noise in the system can degrade the quality of the reconstructed ***,to improve the quality of the reconstructed images of NCT systems,efficient image processing algorithms must be *** anisotropic diffusion filtering(ADF) algorithm can not only effectively suppress the noise in the projection data,but also preserve the image edge structure information by reducing the diffusion at the image ***,we propose the application of the ADF algorithm for NCT image *** compare the performance of different algorithms in NCT systems,we reconstructed images using the ordered subset simultaneous algebraic reconstruction technique(OS-SART) algorithm with different regular terms as image processing *** the iterative reconstruction,we selected two image processing algorithms,the Total Variation and split Bregman solved total variation algorithms,for comparison with the performance of the ADF ***,the filtered back-projection algorithm was used for comparison with an iterative *** reconstructing the projection data of the numerical and clock models,we compared and analyzed the effects of each algorithm applied in the NCT *** on the reconstruction results,OS-SART-ADF outperformed the other algorithms in terms of denoising,preserving the edge structure,and suppressing *** example,when the 3D Shepp–Logan was reconstructed at 25 views,the root mean square error of OS-SART-ADF was the smallest among the four iterative algorithms,at only *** universal quality index,mean structural similarity,and correlation coefficient of the reconstructed image were the largest among all algorithms,with values of 0.9877,0.9878,and 0.9887,respectively.

This paper investigates the tracking control problem for unmanned underwater vehicles(UUVs)systems with sensor faults,input saturation,and external disturbance caused by waves and ocean *** active sensor fault-tolerant control scheme is ***,the developed method only requires the inertia matrix of the UUV,without other dynamic information,and can handle both additive and multiplicative sensor ***,an adaptive fault-tolerant controller is designed to achieve asymptotic tracking control of the UUV by employing robust integral of the sign of error feedback *** is shown that the effect of sensor faults is online estimated and compensated by an adaptive *** the proposed controller,the tracking error and estimation error can asymptotically converge to ***,simulation results are performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
