Globally,soil is the largest terrestrial carbon(c)*** quantification of soil organic c(SOc)stocks in existing global observation-based estimates avails accurate predictions in carbon-climate feedbacks and future climate *** investigated the magnitudes and distributions of global and regional SOc estimates(i.e.,density and stocks)based on five widely used global gridded SOc datasets,a regional permafrost dataset developed in 2021(UM2021),and a global-scale soil profile database(World Soil Information Service)reporting measurements of a series of physical and chemical edaphic *** five global gridded SOc datasets were the Harmonized World Soil Database(HWSD),World Inventory of Soil Emission Potentials at 30 arc-second resolution(WISE30sec),Global Soil Dataset for Earth System Models(GSDE),Global Gridded Soil Information at 250-m resolution(SoilGrids250m),and Global Soil Organic carbon Map(GSOcmap).Our analyses showed that the magnitude and distribution of SOc varied widely among datasets,with certain datasets showing region-specific *** the global scale,SOc stocks at the top 30 and 100 cm were estimated to be 828(range:577–1171)and 1873(range:1086–2678)Pg c,*** estimates from GSDE,GSOcmap,and WISE30sec were comparable,and those of SoilGrids250m and HWSD were at the upper and lower *** spatial SOc distribution varied greatly among datasets,especially in the northern circumpolar and Tibetan Plateau permafrost ***,UM2021 and WISE30sec performed well in the northern circumpolar permafrost regions,and GSDE performed well in *** estimates of SOc by different datasets also showed large variabilities across different soil layers and *** discrepancies were generally smaller for the 0–30 cm soil than the 0–100 cm *** datasets demonstrated relatively higher agreement in grasslands,croplands,and shrublands/savannas than in other biomes(e.g.,wetlands).The users should be mindful of the gaps b

Zeolite is one of the most important heterogeneous catalysts in acid catalytic *** that the catalytic behaviors of zeolites are mostly related to their acidic characteristics,extensive attention has been attracted to the measurements of acid type,strength and concentration in *** techniques including Fourier-transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,probe-assisted 1H,13c and 31P magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(MAS NMR)as well as temperature programmed desorption of ammonia(NH3-TPD)have been developed for determining the acid ***,a single approach is defective to characterize the acid sites ***,combining the probe-assisted(e.g.,NH3 and cD3cN)1H MAS NMR and NH3-TPD,the acid sites in different zeolites including the acid type,density and strength were *** commonly utilized NH3-TPD to determine the acid strength of zeolite samples with different topologies should be rigorously considered owing to zeolite confinement *** the desorption temperature of NH3 probe molecules,the acid type(Le.,Brønsted acid sites(BAS)and Lewis acid sites(LAS))and the corresponding density could be determined by NH3 probe-assisted 1H MAS NMR spectroscopy,while the acid strength could be investigated via cD3cN probe-assisted 1H MAS NMR spectroscopy.

Lamellar quasi-solid electrolyte with nanoconfined deep eutectic solvent for high-performance lithium battery

Electrolytes with high-efficiency lithium-ion transfer and reliable safety are of great importance for lithium *** having superior ionic conductivity(10^(−3)–10^(−2) S·cm^(−1)),traditional liquid-state electrolytes always suffer from low lithium-ion transference number(tLi+ctic solvent(DES)is vacuum-filtered into the~1 nm interlayer channel of vermiculite(Vr)lamellar framework to fabricate a quasi-solid electrolyte(Vr-DES QSE).We demonstrate that the nanoconfinement effect of interlayer channel could facilitate the opening of solvation shell around ***,the interaction from channel wall could inhibit the movement of *** enable high-efficiency lithium-ion transfer:2.61×10^(−4)S·cm^(−1)at 25℃.Importantly,the tLi+value reaches 0.63,which is 4.5 times of that of bulk DES,and much higher than most present liquid/quasi-solid *** addition,Vr-DES QSE shows significantly improved interfacial stability with Li anode as compared with *** assembled Li symmetric cell can operate stably for 1000 h at 0.1 mA·cm^(−2).The lithium iron phosphate(LFP)|Vr-DES QSE|Li cell exhibits high capacity of 142.1 mAh·g^(−1)after 200 cycles at 25℃ and 0.5 c,with a capacity retention of 94.5%.The strategy of open solvation shell through nanoconfinement effect of lamellar framework may shed light on the development of advanced electrolytes.

Ligand engineering for well-defined gold nanoclusters(Au Ncs) is getting more extensive attention. Organizing the Au-ligand interfaces on gold Ncs can achieve the structural and functional control. This review focuses on the Au-ligand interfaces including gold-phosphorus(Au-P), gold-sulfur(Au-S), gold-selenium(Au-Se), gold-carbon(Au-c), and gold-nitrogen(Au-N), derived from the bonding between Au atoms and the different ligands(e.g., organic phosphine, thiolate, selenolate, alkynyl,n-heterocyclic carbene and nitrogenous ligands). The formation mechanism of Au-ligand interfaces is well discussed. In addition, the effects of Au-ligand interfaces on the stability, optical property, and catalysis are also presented. We hope the advances in this research area can boost the development of Au Nc sciences.

Simultaneous enhanced ammonia and nitrate removal from secondary effluent in constructed wetlands using a new manganese-containing substrate

constructed wetlands(cWs)are widely used to treat secondary ***,simultaneously removing ammonia(NH_(4)^(+)-N)and nitrate(NO_(3)^(–)–N)is challenging because of insufficient oxygen and carbon *** this study,a novel composite material(MPcM)comprising MnO_(2) and polycaprolactone was developed as a substrate for cWs to enhance the synchronous removal of NH_(4)^(+)–N and NO_(3)^(–)–*** cWs with a higher MPcM content(H-cW),lower MPcM content(LcW),and controlled cW(c-cW)exhibited average NH_(4)^(+)–N removal efficiencies of 75.69%,70.49%,and 52.40%,*** 15N isotope tracking technique showed that NH_(4)^(+)–N removal was attributed to anaerobic ammonia oxidation mediated by MnO2 reduction(Mnammox),which accounted for 17.16%–27.24%of the NH_(4)^(+)–N removal in the composite material layers(0–20 cm)of the H-cW and *** richness of ammonia oxidizers in the upper layers(40–50 cm)of the HcW and L-cW further facilitated NH_(4)^(+)–N ***,the average total nitrogen(TN)removal efficiencies of the H-cW and L-cW were 1.99 and 1.59 times that of c-cW,respectively,owing to enhanced denitrification by ***,N_(2)O emissions were reduced by 81.31%and 70.83%in the H-cW and L-cW,*** study provides an effective approach for improving nitrogen removal and reducing N2O emissions during the treatment of secondary effluent by cWs.

Drought events have become more severe under climate change,and this can pose a major threat to the survival of various *** molecular mechanisms involved in dehydration resistance are not well ***,adults of the migratory locust,Locusta migratoria,were subjected to food-mediated dehydration,and adipokinetic hormone(AKH)signaling was found to play a key role in regulating dehydration ***,dehydration shortened the lifespan,increased the body weight loss,and reduced the water loss rate in adult *** transcriptome profiles revealed variations in tissue-specific gene expression between dehydration-resistant locusts and normal ***,dehydration selection and exposure induced prominent expression of AKH genes in the retrocerebral complex of adult ***,individual knockdown of AKH1,AKH2,or AKH receptor(AKHR)accelerated water loss and shortened the lifespan of adult locusts under dehydration conditions,and trehalose supplementation ameliorated the negative effects caused by interference with AKH or *** findings demonstrated that AKH/AKHR signaling-dependent trehalose metabolism plays a crucial role in regulating locust dehydration resistance and thus provide novel insights into the regulatory mechanism underlying drought resistance.

BAcKGROUND Ulcerative colitis(Uc)and systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)are both systemic immunoreactive diseases,and their pathogenesis depends on the interaction between genes and environmental *** are no reports of Uc with SLE in china,but six cases of SLE with Uc have been reported in *** combination of these two diseases has distinct effects on the pathogenesis of both *** SUMMARY A female patient(30 years old)came to our hospital due to dull umbilical pain,diarrhea and mucous bloody stool in August 2018 and was diagnosed with *** symptoms were relieved after oral administration of mesalazine(1 g po tid)or folic acid(5 mg po qd),and the patient were fed a control *** June 24,2019,the patient was admitted for treatment due to anemia and *** hospitalization,the patient had repeated low-grade fever and a progressively decreased Hb *** tests revealed positive antinuclear antibody test,positive anti-dsDNA antibody,0.24 g/L c3(0.9-1.8 g/L),0.04 g/L c4(0.1-0.4 g/L),32.37 g/L immunoglobulin(8-17 g/L),and 31568.1 mg/24 h total 24-h urine protein(0-150 mg/24 h).The patient was diagnosed with SLE involving the joints,kidneys and blood *** reported cases of SLE were retrieved from PubMed to characterize clinicopathological features and identify prognostic factors for *** The patient was discharged in remission after a series of treatments,such as intravenous methylprednisolone sodium succinate,intravenous human immunoglobulin,cyclophosphamide injection,and plasma *** discharge,the patient took oral prednisone acetate tablets,cyclosporine capsules,hydroxychloroquine sulfate tablets and other treatments for symptoms and was followed up regularly for 1 month,after which the patient's condition continued to improve and stabilize.
