A novel and promising engineering application of carbon dots:Enhancing the chloride binding performance of cement

corrosion of reinforcement induced by chloride invasion is extensively considered as the dominating deterioration mechanism of reinforced concrete(Rc)structures,leading to serious safety hazards and tremendous economic ***,it still lacks well dispersive and cost-efficient nanomaterials to improve the anti-chloride-corrosion ability of Rc ***,specific carbon dots(cDs)with high dispersity and low cost are deliberately designed,successfully prepared by hydrothermal processing,and then firstly applied to immensely enhance chloride binding performance of cement,thereby contributing to suppressing the corrosion of ***,the tailored cDs are composed of the carbon core with highly crystalline sp^(2)c structures and oxygen-containing groups connecting on the carbon core;The typical equilibrium test confirms that with respect to that of the blank cement paste,the chloride binding capacity of cement paste involving 0.2 wt%(by weight of cement)cDs is increased by 109% after 14-day exposure to 3 mol/L Na cl solution;according to comprehensive analyses of phase compositions,the chloride binding mechanism of cDs-modified cement is rationally attributed to the fact that the incorporation of cDs advances the formation of calcium silicate hydrate(c-S-H)gels and Friedel's salt(Fs),thus enormously enhancing the physically adsorbed and chemically bound chloride ions of cement *** work not only firstly provides a novel high-dispersity and low-cost nanomaterial toward the durability enhancement of Rc structures,but also broadens the application of cDs in the field of engineering,conducing to stimulating their industrialization development.

Research on thermal insulation materials properties under HTHP conditions for deep oil and gas reservoir rock ITP-coring

Deep oil and gas reservoirs are under high-temperature conditions, but traditional coring methods do not consider temperature-preserved measures and ignore the influence of temperature on rock porosity and permeability, resulting in distorted resource assessments. The development of in situ temperaturepreserved coring(ITP-coring) technology for deep reservoir rock is urgent, and thermal insulation materials are key. Therefore, hollow glass microsphere/epoxy resin thermal insulation materials(HGM/EP materials) were proposed as thermal insulation materials. The materials properties under coupled hightemperature and high-pressure(HTHP) conditions were tested. The results indicated that high pressures led to HGM destruction and that the materials water absorption significantly increased; additionally,increasing temperature accelerated the process. High temperatures directly caused the thermal conductivity of the materials to increase; additionally, the thermal conduction and convection of water caused by high pressures led to an exponential increase in the thermal conductivity. High temperatures weakened the matrix, and high pressures destroyed the HGM, which resulted in a decrease in the tensile mechanical properties of the materials. The materials entered the high elastic state at 150.c, and the mechanical properties were weakened more obviously, while the pressure led to a significant effect when the water absorption was above 10%. Meanwhile, the tensile strength/strain were 13.62 MPa/1.3%and 6.09 MPa/0.86% at 100.c and 100 MPa, respectively, which meet the application requirements of the self-designed coring device. Finally, K46-f40 and K46-f50 HGM/EP materials were proven to be suitable for ITP-coring under coupled conditions below 100.c and 100 MPa. Understanding the physiological adaptations of non-treeline trees to environmental stress is important to understand future shifts in species composition and distribution of current treeline *** aim of the present study was to elucidate the mechanisms of the formation of the upper elevation limit of non-treeline tree species,Picea jezoensis,and the carbon allocation strategies of the species on changbai *** employed the^(13)c in situ pulse labeling technique to trace the distribution of photosynthetically assimilated carbon in Picea jezoensis at different elevational positions(tree species at its upper elevation limit(TSAUE,1,700 m a.s.l.)under treeline ecotone;tree species at a lower elevation position(TSALE,1,400 m a.s.l.).We analyzed^(13)c and the non-structural carbohydrate(NSc)concentrations in various tissues following *** findings revealed a significant shift in carbon allocation in TSAUE compared to *** was a pronounced increase inδ^(13)c allocation to belowground components(roots,soil,soil respiration)in TSAUE compared to ***,the c flow rate within the plant-soil-atmosphere system was faster,and the c residence time in the plant was shorter in *** trends indicate enhanced c sink activity in belowground tissues in TSAUE,with newly assimilated c being preferentially directed there,suggesting a more conservative c allocation strategy by *** at higher elevations under harsher *** a strategy,prioritizing c storage in roots,likely aids in withstanding winter cold stress at the expense of aboveground growth during the growing season,leading to reduced growth of TSAUE compared to *** results of the present study shed light on the adaptive mechanisms governing the upper elevation limits of non-treeline trees,and enhances our understanding of how non-treeline species might respond to ongoing climate change.

Investigating the Effects of V2c Mxene on Improving the Switching Stability and Reducing the Operation Voltages of TiO2-Based Memristors

Three-atoms-type V2c Mxene, an emerging class of transition metal carbides, has attracted tremendous attention in the fabrication of advanced memristive devices due to its excellent electrochemical properties. However,the inserted effects and corresponding physical mechanisms of inserting V2c on traditional TiO2-based memristors have not been clearly explored. In this work, exhaustive electrical characterizations of the V2c/TiO2-based devices exhibit enhanced performance（e.g., improved switching stability and lower operating voltages） compared to the TiO2-based counterparts. In addition, the advantaged influences of the inserted V2c have also been studied by means of first-principles calculations, confirming that V2c Mxene enables controllable internal ionic process and facilitated formation mechanism of the Ag conductive filaments. This work demonstrates a way to combine experimental and theoretical investigations to reveal the positive effects of introducing V2c Mxene on memristor, which is beneficial for fabricating performance-enhanced memristors.

Dissipationless layertronics in axion insulator MnBi2Te4

Surface electrons in axion insulators are endowed with a topological layer degree of freedom followed by exotic transport phenomena, e.g., the layer Hall effect. here, we propose that such a layer degree of freedom can be manipulated in a dissipationless way based on the antiferromagnetic MnBi2Te4with tailored domain structure. This makes MnBi2Te4a versatile platform to exploit the ‘layertronics’ to encode, process and store information. Importantly, the layer filter, layer valve and layer reverser devices can be achieved using the layer-locked chiral domain wall modes. The dissipationless nature of the domain wall modes makes the performance of the layertronic devices superior to those in spintronics and valleytronics. Specifically, the layer reverser, a layer version of the Datta–Das transistor, also fills up the blank in designing the valley reverser in valleytronics. Our work sheds light on constructing new generation electronic devices with high performance and low-energy consumption in the framework of layertronics.

Palladium complexes with N,O-Bidentate Ligands Based on N-Oxide Units from cyclic Secondary Amines:Synthesis and catalytic Application in Mizoroki-heck Reaction

Palladium-catalyzed Mizoroki-heck reaction is a powerful and efficient method for construction of csp2–csp2 ***,four palladium complexes(I—IV)with N,O-bidentate ligands(L1—L4)based on N-oxide units from cyclic secondary amines were easily synthesized and successfully applied in Mizoroki-heck reaction of aryl bromides with electron-deficient olefins.x-ray diffraction analyses indicated the palladium(II)atom of II took the distorted square planar geometry and was four-coordinated by nitrogen and oxygen atoms from two ligands(L2).Two free chloride ions were presented as counter anions in complex *** the palladium(II)center of IV was coordinated by nitrogen and oxygen atoms from one ligand(L4)as well as two chlorine atoms,which exhibited the nearly square-planar *** study on catalytic properties of palladium complexes revealed that complex II exhibited high activity superior to the other *** coupling reactions of a series of aryl bromides and olefin derivatives proceeded in the presence of 2—5 mol%palladium complex II,giving the desired products in good to excellent *** advantages of this method such as good compatibility of functional groups,high yields,and short reaction times made it more attractive for constructing csp2–csp2 bonds in the synthesis of functional molecules and materials.

In situ anchoring in carbon matrix of Bi_(2)O_(2)cO_(3) as a high-performance anode material for Li-ion batteries

Bismuth-based anode materials have been regarded as promising Li-ion batteries due to their high theoretical ***,their low conductivity and associated volume expansion inhabited their *** this work,Bi_(2)O_(2)cO_(3)@c composites were successfully synthesized by in situ anchoring of flower-like Bi_(2)O_(2)cO_(3) nanosheets on a carbon-based substrate via *** unique composited structure of Bi_2O_(2)-cO_(3)@c leads to a stable specific capacity of 547 mAh·g^(-1)after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.1 A·g^(-1).Notably,it demonstrates excellent rate capability with a specific capacity of 210 mAh·g^(-1)at 5 A·g^(-1).After 550 cycles at a current density of 0.5 A·g^(-1),a high reversible capacity of nearly 400 mAh·g^(-1)was ***,in situ x-ray diffraction measurements clearly demonstrate the conversion between Bi and Li_(3)Bi during alloying/dealloying,confirming the good electrochemical reversibility of the materials for Li *** reaction kinetics of Bi_(2)O_(2)cO_(3)@c were further investigated using galvanostatic intermittent titration ***,Bi_2O_(2)-cO_(3)@c exhibited excellent long-term stability,maintaining its high reversible capacity for over 200 cycles at a current density of 0.5 A·g^(-1)in a full cell configuration using Li_(1.20)Mn_(0.54)Ni_(0.13)co_(0.13)O_(2) as the cathode *** result further underscores its promising potential for lithium-ion *** work may provide inspiration for the design of alloy-type negative electrode materials for high-performance rechargeable batteries.
