Effects of the extrusion parameters on microstructure,texture and room temperature mechanical properties of extruded Mg-2.49Nd-1.82Gd-0.2Zn-0.2Zr alloy

Microstructure,texture,and mechanical properties of the extruded Mg-2.49Nd-1.82Gd-0.2Zn-0.2Zr alloy were investigated at different extrusion temperatures(260 and 320℃),extrusion ratios(10:1,15:1,and 30:1),and extrusion speeds(3 and 6 mm/s).The experimental results exhibited that the grain sizes after extrusion were much finer than that of the homogenized alloy,and the second phase showed streamline distribution along the extrusion direction(ED).With extrusion temperature increased from 260 to 320℃,the microstructure,texture,and mechanical properties of alloys changed *** dynamic recrystallization(DRx)degree and grain sizes enhanced as the extrusion ratio increased from 10:1 to 30:1,and the strength gradually decreased but elongation(EL)*** the extrusion speed increased from 3 to 6 mm/s,the grain sizes and DRx degree increased significantly,and the samples presented the typical-rare-earth(RE)*** alloy extruded at 260℃ with extrusion ratio of 10:1 and extrusion speed of 3 mm/s showed the tensile yield strength(TYS)of 213 MPa and EL of 30.6%.After quantitatively analyzing the contribution of strengthening mechanisms,it was found that the grain boundary strengthening and dislocation strengthening played major roles among strengthening *** results provide some guidelines for enlarging the industrial application of extruded Mg-RE alloy.

Achievable Rate Analysis and Optimization of Double-RIS Assisted Spatially Correlated MIMO with Statistical CSI

Reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)is a novel meta-material which can form a smart radio environment by dynamically altering reflection directions of the impinging electromagnetic *** the prior literature,the inter-RIS links which also contribute to the performance of the whole system are usually neglected when multiple RISs are *** this paper we investigate a general double-RIS assisted multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)wireless communication system under spatially correlated non line-of-sight propagation channels,where the cooperation of the double RISs is also *** design objective is to maximize the achievable ergodic rate based on full statistical channel state information(CSI).Specifically,we firstly present a closedform asymptotic expression for the achievable ergodic rate by utilizing replica method from statistical *** a full statistical CSI-enabled optimal design is proposed which avoids high pilot training overhead compared to instantaneous CSI-enabled *** further reduce the signal processing overhead and lower the complexity for practical realization,a common-phase scheme is proposed to design the double *** results show that the derived asymptotic ergodic rate is quite accurate even for small-sized antenna *** the proposed optimization algorithm can achieve substantial gain at the expense of a low overhead and ***,the cooperative double-RIS assisted MIMO framework is proven to achieve superior ergodic rate performance and high communication reliability under harsh propagation environment.

Background:Balloon catheter isolation is a promising auxiliary method for thermal ablation treatment of liver cancer. We aimed to explore the safety and effectiveness of balloon catheter isolation-assisted ultrasound-guided percutaneous microwave ablation (MWA) in treating liver cancer in difficult anatomical ***:Data of 132 patients with 145 difficult-site liver cancer treated with ultrasound-guided percutaneous MWA were retrospectively analyzed. Participants were classified into the isolation (n=40)and non-isolation (n=92) groups based on whether the patients were treated using a balloon catheter prior to ablation. The major complication rates, local tumor residuals (LTR), and tumor follow-up for local tumor progression (LTP) at 6 and 12 months post-ablation were compared between the two ***:The rates of major postoperative complications did not significantly differ between the isolation and non-isolation groups (2.5%vs. 4.3%, P=0.609). The postoperative LTR rates were significantly different between the isolation and non-isolation groups (4.8%vs. 17.5%, P=0.032). Balloon catheter isolation [odds ratio (OR)=0.225, 95%confidence interval (CI):0.085–0.595, P=0.009] and tumor diameter(OR=2.808, 95%CI:1.186–6.647, P=0.019) were identified as independent factors influencing LTR *** cumulative LTP rates at 6 and 12 months after ablation showed no significant differences between the isolation and non-isolation groups (2.6%vs. 7.9%, P=0.661;4.9%vs. 9.8%, P=0.676, respectively).Cox proportional hazards regression analysis showed that tumor diameter was an independent risk factor for cumulative LTP rate (OR=3.445, 95%CI:1.406–8.437, P=0.017).Conclusions:Balloon catheter isolation-assisted MWA was safe and effective in the treatment of difficultsite liver cancer. Additionally, tumor diameter significantly influenced LTR and LTP rates after ablation.

The roles of diurnal temperature in providing heat accumulation and chilling requirements for vegetation spring phenology *** previous studies have established a stronger correlation between leaf onset and diurnal temperature than between leaf onset and average temperature,current research on modeling spring phenology based on diurnal temperature indicators remains *** this study,we confirmed the start of the growing season(SOS)sensitivity to diurnal temperature and average temperature in boreal *** estimation of SOS was carried out by employing K-Nearest Neighbor Regression(KNR-TDN)model,Random Forest Regres-sion(RFR-TDN)model,extreme Gradient Boosting(xGB-TDN)model and Light Gradient Boosting Machine model(LightGBM-TDN)driven by diurnal temperature indicators during 1982-2015,and the SOS was projected from 2015 to 2100 based on the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6)climate scenario *** sensitivity of boreal forest SOS to daytime temperature is greater than that to average temperature and nighttime *** LightGBM-TDN model perform best across all vegetation types,exhibiting the lowest RMSE and bias compared to the KNR-TDN model,RFR-TDN model and xGB-TDN *** incorporating diurn-al temperature indicators instead of relying only on average temperature indicators to simulate spring phenology,an improvement in the accuracy of the model is ***,the preseason accumulated daytime temperature,daytime temperature and snow cover end date emerged as significant drivers of the SOS simulation in the study *** simulation results based on LightGBM-TDN model exhibit a trend of advancing SOS followed by stabilization under future climate *** study underscores the potential of diurn-al temperature indicators as a viable alternative to average temperature indicators in driving spring phenology models,offering a prom-ising new method for simulating spring phenology.

Advantages of the Multimodel Ensemble Approach for Subseasonal Precipitation Prediction in China and the Driving Factor of the MJO

Based on the hindcasts from five subseasonal-to-seasonal(S2S)models participating in the S2S Prediction Project,this study evaluates the performance of the multimodel ensemble(MME)approach in predicting the subseasonal precipitation anomalies during summer in China and reveals the contributions of possible driving *** results suggest that while single-model ensembles(SMEs)exhibit constrained predictive skills within a limited forecast lead time of three pentads,the MME illustrates an enhanced predictive skill at a lead time of up to four pentads,and even six pentads,in southern *** on both deterministic and probabilistic verification metrics,the MME consistently outperforms SMEs,with a more evident advantage observed in probabilistic *** superior performance of the MME is primarily attributable to the increase in ensemble size,and the enhanced model diversity is also a contributing *** reliability of probabilistic skill is largely improved due to the increase in ensemble members,while the resolution term does not exhibit consistent ***,the Madden–Julian Oscillation(MJO)is revealed as the primary driving factor for the successful prediction of summer precipitation in China using the *** improvement by the MME is not solely attributable to the enhancement in the inherent predictive capacity of the MJO itself,but derives from its capability in capturing the more realistic relationship between the MJO and subseasonal precipitation anomalies in *** study establishes a scientific foundation for acknowledging the advantageous predictive capability of the MME approach in subseasonal predictions of summer precipitation in China,and sheds light on further improving S2S predictions.

Synergistic effect of bonding heterogeneity and phonon localization in introducing excellent thermoelectric properties in layered heteroanionic NdZnSbO material

Layered rare-earth metal oxides,harnessing the dual properties of oxides and two-dimensional layered materials,exhibit remarkable thermal stability and quantum confinement ***,this work adopts the first-principles calculation combined with the Boltzmann transport theory to predict the thermoelectric properties of NdZnSbO *** coexistence of weak interlayer van der Waals interactions,robust intralayer ionic bonding,and partial covalent bonding leads to remarkable bonding heterogeneity,which engenders pronounced phonon scattering and imposes constraints on thermal transport along the out-of-plane *** weakened chemical bonds induced by the antibonding states,together with the rattling-like behavior of the Zn atom,culminate in the profound anharmonicity in the layered NdZnSbO *** weakening bond and heavy element contribute to the softness of phonon modes,which significantly diminishes the phonon group *** redistribution-dominated four-phonon scattering process spans a large optical gap,which effectively reduces the lattice thermal *** NdZnSbO compound exhibits direct semiconductor characteristic with a bandgap of 0.73 e V by adopting the Heyd-Scuseria-Ernzerhof(HSE06)functional in combination with spin–orbit coupling(SOC)*** multi-valley feature of NdZnSbO compound augur favorably for band degeneracy,thus amplifying the power ***,an optimal figure-of-merit(ZT)of 3.40 at 900 K is achieved for the n-type NdZnSbO *** present study delves deeply insights into the origins for the low thermal conductivity of NdZnSbO compound and proposes an optimization scheme to enhance overall thermoelectric performance.

Ce-UiO-66 nanozymes with charge-regulated uricase-like activity for enzyme/reagent-free detection of uric acid

Designing highly performed uricase-like nanozymes through enzymatic-like colorimetric analysis system is of vital significance for the quantitative detection of uric acid(UA).Herein,series of Ce-UiO-66 nanozymes with different surface charges through the ligand engineering strategy were rationally designed and synthesized as efficient uricase mimics with tailorable uricase-like activities to catalytically convert UA into allantoin and ***,by tuning the functional groups of 1,4-benzoic acid ligands,we explored the relationships between the surface charges of Ce-UiO-66-x(x=H,NO_(2),Br,CH_(3),and OH)nanozymes and their uricase-like *** them,Ce UiO-66-CH_(3) with the moderate surface charge exhibited optimal substrate adsorption and product desorption,displaying the highest uricase-like ***,H2O2,as the product of UA oxidation,enabled Ce-UiO-66-CH_(3) itself as a dose-dependent chromogenic substrate of H_(2)O_(2),giving a white-to-orange color evolution due to the Ce-UiO-66-CH_(3)-to-CeO_(2) phase ***,a smartphone-assisted all-in-one enzyme/reagent-free biosensor based on Ce-UiO-66-CH_(3) was established for the precise visual detection of UA analysis,which was featured by a wide detection range(31–4000µM),a high sensitivity(limit of detection:8.9µM),a rapid response(-3 min),a high structural stability,and a high anti-interference ability.
