Interface failure of segmental tunnel lining strengthened with steel plates based on fracture mechanics

Segmental tunnel lining strengthened with steel plates is widely used worldwide to provide a permanent strengthening *** existing studies assume an ideal steel-concrete interface,ignoring discontinuous deformation characteristics,making it difficult to accurately analyze the strengthened structure’s failure *** this study,interfacial fracture mechanics of composite material was applied to the segmental tunnel lining strengthened with steel plates,and a numerical three-dimensional solid nonlinear model of the lining structure was established,combining the extended finite element method with a cohesive-zone model to account for the discontinuous deformation characteristics of the *** results accurately describe the crack propagation process,and are verified by full-scale ***,dynamic simulations based on the calibrated model were conducted to analyze the sliding failure and cracking of the steel-concrete ***,detailed location of the interface bonding failure are further verified by model *** results show that,the cracking failure and bond failure of the interface are the decisive factors determining the instability and failure of the strengthened *** proposed numerical analysis is a major step forward in revealing the interface failure mechanism of strengthened composite material structures.

Design and Control of an Autonomous Bat-like Perching UAV

Perching allows small Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)to maintain their altitude while significantly extending their flight duration and reducing ***,current research on flying habitats is poorly adapted to unstructured environments,and lacks autonomous capabilities,requiring ideal experimental environments and remote control by *** solve these problems,in this paper,we propose a bat-like UAV perching mechanism by investigating the bat upside-down perching method,which realizes double self-locking in the perching state using the ratchet and four-link dead point *** on this perching mechanism,this study proposes a control strategy for UAVs to track targets and accomplish flight perching autonomously by combining a binocular camera,single-point LiDAR,and pressure *** perching experiments were conducted for crossbar-type objects *** experimental results show that a multirotor UAV equipped with the perching mechanism and sensors can reliably achieve autonomous flight perching and re-flying off the target *** power consumption is reduced to 2.9%of the hovering state when perched on the target object.

Influence of calendering process on the structural mechanics and heat transfer characteristics of lithium-ion battery electrodes via DEM simulations

Elucidating the intricate correlation between calendering,structure,and performance is crucial to comprehending the relationship between performance parameters and process steps of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs).Discrete element method(DEM)simulations were adopted in this work to calculate the interparticle force and stress tensor under incremental calendering process conditions,which revealed the effect of the anisotropy of complex contact force network on the anisotropy of heat transfer within porous *** thermal conductivity of electrode was predicted using porosity to characterize the process-structure-performance *** comprehensive influence of contact number and con-tact area between particles and current collector determines the magnitude of interfacial thermal resistance and interfacial heat transfer *** the first time,this work quantitatively analyzed the structural mechanics and heat transfer mechanism during calendering process of porous electrodes,and the results indicate a promising way to optimize and design battery electrode structures.

Achieving Negatively Charged Pt Single Atoms on Amorphous Ni(OH)_(2)Nanosheets with Promoted Hydrogen Absorption in Hydrogen Evolution

Single-atom(SA)catalysts with nearly 100%atom utilization have been widely employed in electrolysis for decades,due to the outperforming catalytic activity and ***,most of the reported SA catalysts are fixed through the strong bonding between the dispersed single metallic atoms with nonmetallic atoms of the substrates,which greatly limits the controllable regulation of electrocatalytic activity of SA *** this work,Pt-Ni bonded Pt SA catalyst with adjustable electronic states was successfully constructed through a controllable electrochemical reduction on the coordination unsaturated amorphous Ni(OH)_(2)nanosheet *** on the x-ray absorption fine structure analysis and first-principles calculations,Pt SA was bonded with Ni sites of amorphous Ni(OH)_(2),rather than conventional O sites,resulting in negatively charged Pt^(δ-).In situ Raman spectroscopy revealed that the changed configuration and electronic states greatly enhanced absorbability for activated hydrogen atoms,which were the essential intermediate for alkaline hydrogen evolution *** hydrogen spillover process was revealed from amorphous Ni(OH)_(2)that effectively cleave the H-O-H bond of H_(2)O and produce H atom to the Pt SA sites,leading to a low overpotential of 48 mV in alkaline electrolyte at-1000 mA cm^(-2)mg^(-1)_(Pt),evidently better than commercial Pt/C *** work provided new strategy for the control-lable modulation of the local structure of SA catalysts and the systematic regulation of the electronic states.

Subarachnoid haemorrhage(SAH),mostly caused by the rupture of intracranial aneu-rysm,is a common disease with a high fatality *** lesions are generally diffusely distributed,showing a variety of scales with irregular *** complex characteristics of lesions make SAH segmentation a challenging *** cope with these difficulties,a u-shaped deformable transformer(UDT)is proposed for SAH ***,first,a multi-scale deformable attention(MSDA)module is exploited to model the diffuseness and scale-variant characteristics of SAH lesions,where the MSDA module can fuse features in different scales and adjust the attention field of each element dynamically to generate discriminative multi-scale ***,the cross deformable attention-based skip connection(CDASC)module is designed to model the irregular edge char-acteristic of SAH lesions,where the CDASC module can utilise the spatial details from encoder features to refine the spatial information of decoder ***,the MSDA and CDASC modules are embedded into the backbone Res-UNet to construct the proposed *** experiments are conducted on the self-built SAH-CT dataset and two public medical datasets(glaS and MoNuSeg).Experimental results show that the presented UDT achieves the state-of-the-art performance.

Passivation remediation of weakly alkaline Cd-contaminated soils using combined treatments of biochar and sepiolite

Background Cadmium(Cd) pollution in agricultural soils has become a priority environmental concern globally. A reasonable application of passivators is critical to address the problem. In this study, we examined the remediation effects of rice husk biochar(r BC) and sepiolite(Sep) as single and combined(r BC + Sep) treatments on Cd pollution in a weakly alkaline soil using three maize cultivars(Liyu 16, Zhengdan 958, and Sanbei 218) as test crops. We also explained the mechanisms involved in the remediation *** The pseudo-second-order kinetic equation and Langmuir model could well describe the adsorption process of r BC + Sep for Cd2+. Compared with the control treatment(CK), soil available Cd concentration decreased by 29.51–36.34% under r BC + Sep treatment(pgrains of Liyu 16, Zhengdan 958, and Sanbei 218 decreased by 38.08–47.85%, 37.25–45.61%, and 33.96–46.15%, respectively(pg passivation treatment, soil available Cd concentration decreased and gradually changed from the exchangeable and carbonate binding forms to the Fe/Mn oxide and residual forms. The bioconcentration factors of Liyu 16(0.05–0.09) and Sanbei 218(0.05–0.09) were lower than those of Zhengdan 958(0.07–0.13). In addition, r BC +Sep treatment increased soil p H and soil electrical conductivity, but the differences were not significant(p> 0.05).Conclusions The application of 0.2% r BC + 0.5% Sep composite passivation material to weakly alkaline Cd-contaminated soil can effectively reduce the Cd concentration of soil and maize.

Interfacial charge redistribution to promote the catalytic activity of Vs-CoP-CoS_(2)/C n-n heterojunction for ox.g.n evolution

Modulating surface charge redistribution based on interface and defect engineering has been considered as a resultful means to boost electrocatalytic ***,the mechanism of synergistic regulation of heterojunction and vacancy defects remains ***,a Vs-CoP-CoS_(2)/C n-n heterojunction with sulfur vacancies is successfully constructed,which manifests superior electrocatalytic activity for ox.g.n evolution,as demonstrated by a low overpotential of 170 mV to reach 10 mA/cm^(2).The experimental results and density functional theory calculations testify that the outstanding OER performance of Vs-CoP-CoS_(2)/C heterojunction is owed to the synergistic effect of sulfur vacancies and built-in electric field at n-n heterogeneous interface,which accelerates the electron transfer,induces the charge redistribution,and regulates the adsorption energy of active intermediates during the *** study affords a promising means to regulate the electrocatalytic performance by the construction of heterogeneous interfaces and defects,and in-depth explores the synergistic mechanisms of n-n heterojunction and vacancies.

Multimodal Social Media Fake News Detection Based on Similarity Inference and Adversarial Networks

As social networks become increasingly complex, contemporary fake news often includes textual descriptionsof events accompanied by corresponding images or videos. Fake news in multiple modalities is more likely tocreate a misleading perception among users. While early research primarily focused on text-based features forfake news detection mechanisms, there has been relatively limited exploration of learning shared representationsin multimodal (text and visual) contexts. To address these limitations, this paper introduces a multimodal modelfor detecting fake news, which relies on similarity reasoning and adversarial networks. The model employsBidirectional Encoder Representation from Transformers (BERT) and Text Convolutional Neural Network (Text-CNN) for extracting textual features while utilizing the pre-trained Visual geometry group 19-layer (Vgg-19) toextract visual features. Subsequently, the model establishes similarity representations between the textual featuresextracted by Text-CNN and visual features through similarity learning and reasoning. Finally, these features arefused to enhance the accuracy of fake news detection, and adversarial networks have been employed to investigatethe relationship between fake news and events. This paper validates the proposed model using publicly availablemultimodal datasets from Weibo and Twitter. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed approachachieves superior performance on Twitter, with an accuracy of 86%, surpassing traditional unimodalmodalmodelsand existing multimodal models. In contrast, the overall better performance of our model on the Weibo datasetsurpasses the benchmark models across multiple metrics. The application of similarity reasoning and adversarialnetworks in multimodal fake news detection significantly enhances detection effectiveness in this paper. Quantum search with prior knowledge

The combination of contextual side information and search is a powerful paradigm in the scope of artificial intelligence. The prior knowledge enables the identification of possible solutions but may be imperfect. Contextual information can arise naturally, for example in game AI where prior knowledge is used to bias move decisions. In this work we investigate the problem of taking quantum advantage of contextual information, especially searching with prior knowledge. We propose a new generalization of grover's search algorithm that achieves the optimal expected success probability of finding the solution if the number of queries is fixed. Experiments on small-scale quantum circuits verify the advantage of our algorithm. Since contextual information exists widely, our method has wide applications. We take game tree search as an example.
