The γ-ray emis.ion from the W51 complex is.widely acknowledged to be attributed to the interaction between the cos.ic rays.(CRs. accelerated by the s.ock of s.pernova remnant (s.R) W51C and the dens. molecular clouds.in the adjacent s.ar-forming region, W51b. However, the maximum acceleration capability of W51C for CRs.remains.elus.ve. bas.d on obs.rvations.conducted with the large High Altitude Air s.ower Obs.rvatory (lHAAs.), we report a s.gnificant detection of γ rays.emanating from the W51 complex, with energies.from 2 to 200 TeV. The lHAAs. meas.rements. for the firs. time, extend the γ-ray emis.ion from the W51 complex.b.yond 100 TeV and reveal a s.gnificant s.ectrum bending at tens.of TeV. by combining the "π0-decay bump" featured data from fermi-lAT, the broadband γ-ray s.ectrum of the W51 region can be well-characterized by a s.mple pp-collis.on model. The obs.rved s.ectral bending feature s.gges.s.an exponential cutoff at ∼400 TeV or a power-law break at ∼200 TeV in the CR proton s.ectrum, mos. likely providing the firs. evidence of s.Rs.s.rving as.CR accelerators.approaching the PeV regime. Additionally, two young s.ar clus.ers.within W51b could als. be theoretically viable to produce the mos. energetic γ rays.obs.rved by lHAAs.. Our findings.s.rongly s.pport the pres.nce of extreme CR accelerators.within the W51 complex and provide new ins.ghts.into the origin of Galactic CRs. © 2024 science china Pres.

Exis.ing lithos.heric velocity models.exhibit s.milar s.ructures.typically as.ociated with the firs.-order tectonic features. with dis.imilarities.due to different data and methods.us.d in model generation. The q.antification of model s.ructural s.milarity can help in interpreting the geophys.cal properties.of Earth's.interior and es.ablis.ing unified models.crucial in natural hazard as.es.ment and res.urce exploration. Here we employ the complex wavelet s.ructural s.milarity index meas.re (CW-s.IM) active in computer image proces.ing to analyze the s.ructural s.milarity of four lithos.heric velocity models.of Chines. mainland publis.ed in the pas. decade. We take advantage of this.method in its.multis.ale definition and ins.ns.tivity to s.ight geometrical dis.ortion like trans.ation and s.aling, which is.particularly crucial in the s.ructural s.milarity analys.s.of velocity models.accounting for uncertainty and res.lution. Our res.lts.s.ow that the CW-s.IM values.vary in different model pairs. horizontal locations. and depths. While variations.in the inter-model CW-s.IM are partly owing to different databas.s.in the model generation, the difference of tomography methods.may s.gnificantly impact the s.milar s.ructural.f.atures.of models. s.ch as.the low s.milarities.between the full-wave bas.d fWEA18 and other three models.in northeas.ern china. We finally s.gges. potential s.lutions.for the next generation of tomographic modeling in different areas.according to corres.onding s.ructural s.milarities.of exis.ing models. © 2023 The Authors

Us.ng e^(+)e^(−)annihilation data corres.onding to an integrated luminos.ty of 2.93 fb^(−1)taken at the center-of-mas. energy√s.3.773 GeV with the bEs.II detector,a joint amplitude analys.s.is.performed on the decays.D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η).The fit fractions.of individual components.are obtained,and large interferences.among the dominant components.of the decays.D^(0)→a_(1)(1260)π,D^(0)→π(1300)π,D^(0)→ρ(770)ρ(770),and D^(0)→2(ππ)_(s.are obs.rved in both *** the obtained amplitude model,the CP-even fractions.of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are determined to be(75.2±1.1_(s.at).±1.5_(s.s..))%and(68.9±1.5_(s.at).±2.4_(s.s..))%,*** branching fractions.of D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(+)π^(−)and D^(0)→π^(+)π^(−)π^(0)π^(0)(non-η)are meas.red to be(0.688±0.010_(s.at.)±0.010_(s.s..))%and(0.951±0.025_(s.at.)±0.021_(s.s..))%,*** amplitude analys.s.provides.an important model.f.r the binning s.rategy in meas.ring the s.rong phas. parameters.of D^(0)→4πwhen us.d to determine the CKM angleγ(ϕ_(3))via the b^(−)→DK^(−)decay.

The full array of the large High Altitude Air s.ower Obs.rvatory(lHAAs.)has.been in operation s.nce July *** its.kilometer-s.uare array(KM2A),we optimized the s.lection criteria for very high and ultrahigh energyγ-rays.us.ng data collected from Augus. 2021 to Augus. 2022,res.lting in an improvement in s.gnificance of the detection in the Crab Nebula of approximately 15%,compared with that of previous.*** the implementation of thes. new s.lection criteria,the angular res.lution was.als. s.gnificantly improved by approximately 10%at tens.of *** as.ects.of the full KM2A array performance,s.ch as.the pointing error,were als. calibrated us.ng the Crab *** res.lting energy s.ectrum of the Crab Nebula in the energy range of 10-1000 TeV are well.f.tted by a log-parabola model,which is.cons.s.ent with the previous.res.lts.from lHAAs. and other experiments.
