The dynamic spal.ing characteristics of rock are important for stabil.ty anal.sis in rock *** paper presented an ex.erimental.investigation on the dynamic spal.ing characteristics of granite with different temperatures and strain rates.A series of dynamic spal.ing tests with different impact vel.cities were conducted on thermal.y treated granite at different *** dynamic spal.ing strengths of granite with different temperatures and strain rates were determined.A model.was proposed to correl.te the dynamic spal.ing strength of granite,high temperature and strain *** resul.s show that the spal.ing strength of granite decreases with increasing ***,the spal.ing strength of granite with a higher strain rate is l.rger than that with a l.wer strain *** proposed model.can describe the rel.tionship among dynamic spal.ing strength of granite,high temperature and strain rate.

In-situ el.ctron irradiation and aging are appl.ed to introduce high-density precipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)al.oy to improve the *** resul.s show that the hardness of the Mg al.oy after irradiation for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approx.matel. 64% higher than that of the sampl.s before being *** is mainl. attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal.pl.ne after irradiation and the high-density nanoscal. β'precipitates on the prismatic pl.ne after aging,which shoul. be cl.sel. rel.ted to the irradiation-induced homogenous *** l.tter pl.ys a key rol. in precipitation *** resul. paves a way to improve the mechanical.properties of metal.ic material. by tail.ring the precipitation through irradiation and aging.

The triggering mechanism for radio l.bes from l.te-type gal.x.es is not ful.y *** sampl.s are desired for a thorough investigation and *** util.zing the optical.data from the newl. rel.ased Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument imaging surveys and the radio sources from the NRAO Vl. Sky Survey and the Faint Images of the Radio Sky at Twenty-centimeter,we identify four l.te-type Gal.x.es with doubl. Radio l.bes(l. GRl.):J0217-3645,J0947+6220,J1412+3723 and J1736+*** previousl. known l. GRl.,we confirm the correl.tion between radio power P_(1.4GHz)and stel.ar mass M_(*)of host ***(25/35)l. GRl. bel.ng to the bl.e cl.ud gal.x.es,whil. the newl. identified cases in this work are l.cated within the region of the red *** find a cl.ar correl.tion between the differential.radio power,i.e.,the offset from the P_(1.4GHz)-M_(*)rel.tion,and the gal.x. col.r,indicating that bl.er gal.x.es at a fix.d M_(*)tend to host more powerful.radio ***,the majority(31/36)of l. GRl. are either l.cated in a gal.x. group or displ.ying a disturbed *** suggest that al. of the gal.x. mass,col.r and surrounding environment coul. pl.y important rol.s in triggering radio l.bes in l.te-type gal.x.es.

Two-Stream Approx.mation to the Radiative Transfer Equation:A New Improvement and Comparative Accuracy with Ex.sting Methods

Mathematical.model.ng of the interaction between sol.r radiation and the Earth's atmosphere is formal.zed by the radiative transfer equation(RTE), whose resol.tion cal.s for two-stream approx.mations among other methods. This paper proposes a new two-stream approx.mation of the RTE with the devel.pment of the phase function and the intensity into a third-order series of l.gendre pol.nomial.. This new approach, which adds one more term in the ex.ression of the intensity and the phase function, al.ows in the conditions of a pl.ne paral.el.atmosphere a new mathematical.formul.tion of γparameters. It is then compared to the Eddington, Hemispheric Constant, Quadrature, Combined Del.a Function and Modified Eddington, and second-order approx.mation methods with reference to the Discrete Ordinate(Disort) method(δ –128 streams), considered as the most precise. This work al.o determines the conversion function of the proposed New Method using the fundamental.definition of two-stream approx.mation(F-TSA) devel.ped in a previous work. Notabl.,New Method has general.y better precision compared to the second-order approx.mation and Hemispheric Constant methods. Compared to the Quadrature and Eddington methods, New Method shows very good precision for wide domains of the zenith angl. μ 0, but tends to deviate from the Disort method with the zenith angl., especial.y for high val.es of optical.thickness. In spite of this divergence in refl.ctance for high val.es of optical.thickness, very strong correl.tion with the Disort method(R ≈ 1) was obtained for most cases of optical.thickness in this study. An anal.sis of the l.gendre pol.nomial.series for simpl. functions shows that the high precision is due to the fact that the approx.mated functions amel.orate the accuracy when the order of approx.mation increases, al.hough it has been proven that there is a l.mit order depending on the function from which the precision is l.st. Ash-rich pyrocl.stic fl.ws from the catacl.smic eruption of Mount Mazama (~7700 yr. B. P.), Cascade vol.anic arc, Oregon, entered and bl.cked the narrow, bedrock-l.ned canyon of the Wil.iamson River approx.matel. 35 to 44 km from the source vol.ano. The bl.ckage impounded a body of water which then rel.ased producing four stratigraphic units in the downstream debris fan. The four stratigraphic units are a boul.er core comprised of l.cal.y sourced bedrock boul.ers and three sand-rich units incl.ding a fine-grained sand unit, a sandy pumice gravel.(±basal./hydrovol.anic tuff) unit, and a pumice pebbl.-bearing, crystal.rich sand unit. Hand-dril.ed auger hol.s up to ~1.6 m deep were used to obtain sampl.s of the sand-rich units. Units were del.mited using surface and down-hol. observations, composition and tex.ure, estimated density, statistical.parameters of grain size, and vertical.and l.teral.distribution of properties. Overtopping fol.owed by rapid incision into the ash-rich pyrocl.stic fl.ws progressivel. cl.ared the canyon, but a bedrock knickpoint near the head of the canyon l.mited the vol.me of debris avail.bl. for transport to about 0.04 km3 to 0.08 km3. Co-deposition of bedrock boul.ers and l.thic-rich sand was fol.owed by rapid deposition with minimal.reworking of remobil.zed pyrocl.stics. Continued draining of the impounded l.ke sent hyperconcentrated fl.ws onto the debris fan depositing pumice-rich gravel. that graded upward to crystal.rich sands.
