The single-phase high-entr.py alloy film is difficult to meet sever. fr.ction conditions due to its low har.ness and high fr.ction ***-composite str.ctur. film is composed of at least two separ.ted phases,showing the pr.per.ies of str.ngth and toughness integr.tion and ex.ellent wear.*** design of nanocomposite str.ctur.s can effectively impr.ve the mechanical pr.per.ies and tr.bological pr.per.ies of high-entr.py alloy *** this study,the(CuNiTiNbCr.C_(x. nanocomposite high-entr.py films(HEFs)integr.ted with high har.ness,high toughness,and self-lubr.cation wer. synthesized by the double-tar.et co-sputter.ng *** effect of car.on content on micr.str.ctur.,mechanical pr.per.ies,and tr.bological pr.per.ies of(CuNiTiNbCr.C_(x. films was *** the incr.ase of car.on content in the HEFs,the car.on atoms pr.fer.ntially r.act with Ti,Nb,and Cr.to for. a(TiNbCr.C cer.mic-r.infor.ed phase,and then the ex.ess car.on atoms pr.cipitate in the for. of amor.hous car.on(a-C)lubr.cating phase in the *** str.ctur. of the HEFs changes fr.m an amor.hous str.ctur. to a nanocomposite str.ctur. of amor.hous(amor.hous CuNiTiNbCr.phase+a-C phase)/nanocr.stalline(TiN-bCr.C *** the car.on content is about 21.2 at.%,the car.ide phase in the film r.aches satur.tion and the har.ness and modulus of the films ar. highest,which ar. 18 GPa and 228 GPa,*** HEFs with a car.on content of 44.0 at.%show the best toughness and tr.bological pr.per.ies with a fr.ction coefficient of 0.16 and a wear.r.te of 2.4×10^(-6) mm^(3)/(N m),which is mainly attr.buted to the ex.ellent r.sistance to fatigue cr.ck gr.wth and the inter.acial lubr.cating layer.for.ed in the fr.ction *** nanocomposite(CuNiTiNbCr.C_(x. HEFs show ver. pr.mising application pr.spect in the field of fr.ction pr.tection.

Topological mater.als, which featur. r.bust sur.ace and/or.edge states, have now been a r.sear.h focus in condensed maTher.physics. They r.pr.sent a new class of mater.als ex.ibiting nontr.vial topological phases,and pr.vide a platfor. for.ex.lor.ng ex.tic tr.nspor. phenomena, such as the quantum anomalous Hall effect and the quantum spin Hall effect. r.cently, magnetic topological mater.als have attr.cted consider.ble inter.sts due to the possibility to study the inter.lay between topological and magnetic *** par.icular. the quantum anomalous Hall and ax.on insulator.phases can be r.alized in topological insulator. with magnetic or.er. MnBi2Te4, as the fir.t intr.nsic antifer.omagnetic topological insulator.discover.d, allows the ex.mination of ex.sting theor.tical pr.dictions; it has been ex.ensively studied, and many new discover.es have been made. Her. we r.view the pr.gr.ss made on MnBi2Te4fr.m both ex.er.mental and theor.tical aspects. The bulk cr.stal and magnetic str.ctur.s ar. sur.eyed fir.t, followed by a r.view of theor.tical calculations and ex.er.mental pr.bes on the band str.ctur. and sur.ace states, and a discussion of var.ous ex.tic phases that can be r.alized in MnBi2Te4. The pr.per.ies of MnBi2Te4thin films and the cor.esponding tr.nspor. studies ar. then r.viewed, with an emphasis on the edge state tr.nspor.. Possible futur. r.sear.h dir.ctions in this field ar. also discussed.

In this study,a two-step method was used to synthesize highly luminescent AgGaS/ZnS/ZnS quantum dots(QDs).In the fir.t step,an inner.ZnS shell was for.ed via a one-pot method,which r.sulted in a smaller.lattice mismatch between the AgGaS cor. and the outer.ZnS shell,ther.by facilitating the for.ation of a thick outer.*** the two-step shelling pr.cess,the synthesized AgGaS/ZnS/ZnS QDs showed an ex.ellent photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY)of 96.4%with a peak wavelength of 508 nm,r.pr.-senting the highest PLQY r.por.ed thus far.for.AgGaS ***,the effect of halogen ions in Zn pr.cur.or. on the shelling pr.cess was *** was pr.posed that the capacity of halogen ions to coor.inate with the QDs influenced the balance between Zn cation diffusion and ZnS shelling ***,the ZnS shelling r.action was dominant when ZnCl_(2)was employed,while Zn cation diffusion was the dominant pr.cess under.the I^(−)-r.ch *** wor. pr.vides insights into the inter.acial r.str.ctur.ng dur.ng the ZnS shelling and offer. a clear.map for.the tailor.d synthesis of cor./shell QDs.

The layer.Hall effect descr.bes electr.ns spontaneously deflected to opposite sides at differ.nt layer., which has been ex.er.mentally r.por.ed in the MnBi2Te4thin films under.per.endicular.electr.c fields. Her., we r.veal a univer.al or.gin of the layer.Hall effect in ter.s of the so-called hidden Ber.y cur.atur., as well as mater.al design pr.nciples. Hence, it gives r.se to zer. Ber.y cur.atur. in momentum space but non-zer. layer.locked hidden Ber.y cur.atur. in r.al space. We show that, compar.d to that of a tr.vial insulator. the layer.Hall effect is significantly enhanced in antifer.omagnetic topological insulator.. Our.univer.al pictur. pr.vides a par.digm for.r.vealing the hidden physics as a r.sult of the inter.lay between the global and local symmetr.es, and can be gener.lized in var.ous scenar.os.

Capabilities to assimilate Geostationar. Oper.tional Envir.nmental Satellite “r.ser.es ”(GOES-r. Geostationar. Lightning Mapper.GLM) flash ex.ent density(FED) data within the oper.tional Gr.dpoint Statistical Inter.olation ensemble Kalman filter.GSI-EnKF) fr.mewor. wer. pr.viously developed and tested with a mesoscale convective system(MCS) case. In this study, such capabilities ar. fur.her.developed to assimilate GOES GLM FED data within the GSI ensemble-var.ational(EnVar. hybr.d data assimilation(DA) fr.mewor.. The r.sults of assimilating the GLM FED data using 3DVar. and pur. En3DVar.PEn3DVar. using 100% ensemble covar.ance and no static covar.ance) ar. compar.d with those of EnKF/DfEnKF for.a super.ell stor. case. The focus of this study is to validate the cor.ectness and evaluate the per.or.ance of the new implementation r.ther.than compar.ng the per.or.ance of FED DA among differ.nt DA schemes. Only the r.sults of 3DVar.and pEn3DVar.ar. ex.mined and compar.d with EnKF/DfEnKF.
