Inflation Transmission Diagnostics via a Bayesian Graph Vector Autoregressive Model with Markov Switching

The transmission of inflation is a widespread occurrence, and managing inflationary pressures is a crucial macroeconomic challenge. Although inflation is a typical macroeconomic variable,its contemporaneous and lagged causal relationships have not been thoroughly investigated, which could result in missing important policy insights. The Bayesian graph vector autoregression(BGVAR)model can identify contemporaneous and lagged causal relationships among economic variables, but it lacks practical research on inflationary inflation. To account for the structural transformation in the inflation transmission process, the authors propose a Bayesian graph vector autoregressive model with Markov switching(MS-BGVAR), which considers both regime switching and contemporaneous causality among macroeconomic variables. The proposed study focuses on analyzing the dynamics of inflation transmission relationships among G7 countries under different regimes, as these countries represent developed nations. The authors use inflation data from 1971–2019, which shows two distinct inflation regimes within the sample period. The authors conduct simulation experiments to generate moderately dimensional simulated data for both regimes and indicators, demonstrating the theoretical reliability of the proposed model in accurately identifying graph structures. Finally, the authors apply the proposed model to identify structural breaks and causal transmission relationships in the inflation transmission process of G7 economies, demonstrating that the proposed model has significant economic significance and good explanatory power in the selected target countries.

冷战结束以来俄罗斯对国际秩序的认知经历了一个曲折的发展历程:20世纪90年代中前期,俄罗斯全盘接受并极力融入美西方主导的自由国际秩序;20世纪90年代中后期开始到2007年,俄罗斯开始质疑和反思美西方自由国际秩序的制度标准和地缘安排,但依然希望被接纳;2008年至今,俄罗斯逐渐放弃对美西方自由国际秩序的幻想,并开始反击其地缘安排。2022年乌克兰危机爆发意味着俄罗斯对美西方秩序的彻底反击,并提出和推进其多极世界秩序构想。俄罗斯对国际秩序的认知历程是其自我认知与对外部世界的认知不断调适的产物,其形成过程受到多种因素的共同作用,主要包括俄罗斯的大国梦想和历史文化传统、美西方对俄罗斯的态度,以及世界政治的客观形势。

为探讨回收质量风险对钢铁闭环供应链成员决策、主体利润水平的影响,建立了有无回收质量风险两种情形下制造商主导的博弈模型,求解得出最优决策,并进行对比分析。研究结果发现:回收质量风险的存在并不影响废钢资源的回收价格、钢铁制造商回收成本系数对闭环供应链的决策影响,但会影响生产成本对闭环供应链的决策影响,体现在钢铁的基本市场规模的阈值上;回收质量风险的存在会导致钢铁制造商制定更高的批发价,钢铁的市场价格更高,市场需求更少,钢铁制造商利润、钢铁分销商利润和供应链系统利润都有所降低。

A PRICE-SETTING NEWSVENDOR MODEL UNDER CVAR DECISION CRITERION WITH EMERGENCY PROCUREMENT

In this paper, we consider a newsvendor model in which a risk-averse manager faces a stochastic price-dependent demand in either an additive or a multiplicative form. An emergency purchase option is allowed after the realization of demand to satisfy the units that are short. By adopting Conditional value-at-risk （CVaR） as the decision criterion, we aim to investigate the optimal pricing and ordering decisions, and the effects of parameter changes in such a setting. We provide sufficient conditions for the uniqueness of the optimal policy for both demand models. We perforl~, comparative statics analysis to show how the optimal pricing and ordering decision behaves when changing parameters. We also compare our results with those of the newsvendor with a general utility function and with CVaR criterion under lost sales assumption. Our key results include：（i） For both demand models, the optimal selling price is decreasing in risk aversion. Hence, the optimal price of a risk-averse newsvendor is not greater than the optimal price of a risk-neutral newsvendor. （it） In contrary to the lost sales case, for the multiplicative demand model, the optimal order quantity may not be monotonic in risk aversion. Consequently, the optimal risk-averse order quantity may be lower or higher than the optimal risk- neutral counterpart. （iii） For the additive model, the optimal order quantity is strictly increasing in the emergency purchase price, while for the multiplicative model the optimal order quantity has no such a monotonic property. Some numerical examples are conducted to verify our claims and gain more insights about the risk-averse decision-making behaviors.

Joint enhancement of lead accumulation in Brassica plants by EDTA and ammonium sulfate in sand culture

When EDTA was added alone in the Pb\|contaminated sand, the plant biomass and the total Pb amount in plant decreased in both species, Brassica pekinensis and B. juncea var. multiceps, though the shoot Pb amount increased. In contrast, when (NH 4) 2SO 4 was added alone in the Pb\|contaminated sand, little effect was observed on the shoot Pb amount, though the root Pb amount was significantly increased in B. juncea var. multiceps. When amending EDTA and (NH 4) 2SO 4 in combination, however, the shoot Pb amount in both species substantially increased, being, on an average, 2 times and 9 times higher than that in EDTA alone or (NH 4) 2SO 4 alone amended treatment, respectively. The two amendments showed antagonism for plant growth, but synergism for Pb bioaccumulation. B. pekinensis showed its highest level of shoot and total Pb amount in the treatment amended with EDTA and (NH 4) 2SO 4 only a half as much as in the other treatments. It is inferred that the mechanisms responsible for the joint\|enhanced Pb accumulation might be concerned with the acidification of the growth medium, cation exchange reaction and relieving EDTA induced toxicity as results by amending ammonium sulfate.

This paper constructs several classes of new wavelet bases, which are unconditional bases for related operator spaces. Using these bases, the author analyzes non-homogeneous symbolicspace OpS1,1^m and two related kernel-distribution spaces, and characterizes them in two wavelet coefficients spaces. Besides, some properties for singular integral operators are studied.

SULFATE RESISTANCE MECHANISM OF HIGH- PERFORMANCE CONCRETE CONTAINING NCI

It is found that the incorporation of Nitrite Corrosion Inhibitor (NCI) greatly weakens the resistance of mixtures to sulfate attack. To study the mechanism of this phenomenon, in this paper, the influence of NCI addition on the cement paste and microstructure change of high performance concrete specimens is studied by means of quantitative XRD, SEM tests. The results demonstrate that the incorporation of NCI accelerates the formation of calcium hydroxide and ettringite crystals, and weakens the pore refinement effect caused by the secondary hydration reaction of fly ash and microsilica. At the age up to one year, the relative crystal quantity in mixture containing NCI is always higher than that in control mixture. The reasons for the degradation in sulfate resistance of mixtures may be attributed to the increase and stability of the calcium hydroxide and ettringite crystals formed and the weakening of secondary hydration reaction. Based on the results, conclusion can be drawn that NCI should be used cautiously in practical engineering where high resistance to sulfate attack is required. (Author abstract) 7 Refs.
