Precise orchestration of cell fate determination underlies the success of scaffold-based skeletal *** extensive studies on mineralized parenchymal tissue rebuilding,regenerating and maintaining undifferentiated mesenchyme within calvarial bone remain very challenging with limited advances *** knowledge has evidenced the indispensability of rebuilding suture mesenchymal stem cell niches to avoid severe brain or even systematic *** to date,the absence of promising therapeutic biomaterials/scaffolds *** reason lies in the shortage of fundamental knowledge and methodological evidence to understand the cellular fate regulations of *** address these issues,in this study,we systematically investigated the cellular fate determinations and transcriptomic mechanisms by distinct types of commonly used calvarial *** data elucidated the natural processes without scaffold transplantation and demonstrated how different scaffolds altered in vivo cellular responses.A feasible scaffold,polylactic acid electrospinning membrane(PLA),was next identified to precisely control mesenchymal ingrowth and self-renewal to rebuild non-osteogenic suture-like tissue at the defect center,meanwhile supporting proper osteointegration with defect bony ***,transcriptome analysis and cellular mechanisms underlying the well-orchestrated cell fate determination of PLA were *** study for the first time cellularly decoded the fate regulations of scaffolds in suture-bony composite defect healing,offering clinicians potential choices for regenerating such complicated injuries.

To provide a new idea to reduce anisotropy for sheets in the thickness direction by microstructure modification and,mean-while,maintain or even enhance tensile performance,the in-situ ZrB2 particle/AA7085 composite sheets with thicknesses of 1,2,3,and 6 mm were *** as-cast grain size was significantly refined by the heterogeneous nucleus of the ZrB2 *** microstructure results show that severe hot deformation converts as-cast disordered microstructure into a sequential microstructure by crushing the remanent phases and matrix into a fiber *** the solid solution and aging heat treatment,the composite sheets exhibit largely recrystallized grains compared with partially recrystallized grains in the matrix sheets,and weak or even free texture exists in the *** grain size in the composite sheets decreases with the increase in thickness *** the thickness range of 1-3 mm,the composite sheets maintain a similar tensile per-formance as that in matrix sheets,while the strength and ductility in the 6-mm-thick composite sheet are improved.

Stainless steels are used in a wide range of complex environments due to their excellent corrosion *** stainless steels can offer an excellent combination of strength,toughness and corrosion resistance due to the coexistence of different *** microstructure and mechanical properties of a novel cast multiphase stainless steel,composed of martensite,ferrite,and austenite,were investigated following appropriate heat treatment processes:solution treatment at 1,050℃ for 0.5 h followed by water quenching to room temperature,and aging treatment at 500℃ for 4 h followed by water quenching to room *** show reversed austenite is formed by diffusion of Ni element during aging process,and the enrichment of Ni atoms directly determines the mechanical stability of *** austenite with a lower Ni content undergoes a martensitic transformation during plastic *** tensile strength of the specimen exceeds 1,100 MPa and the elongation exceeds 24%after solid solution,and further increases to 1,247 MPa and 25%after aging *** enhancement is due to the TRIP effect of austenite and the precipitation of the nanoscale G-phase pinning dislocations in ferrite and martensite.

Inspired by the dynamic wet adhesive systems in nature,various artificial adhesive surfaces have been developed but still face different ***,the theoretical mechanics of wet adhesives has never been sufficiently ***,we develop a novel adhesive mechanism for governing wet adhesion and investigate the biological models of honeybee arolium for reproducing the natural wet adhesive ***-nano structures of honeybee arolium and arolium-prints were observed by Cryogenic scanning electron microscopy(Cryo-SEM),and the air pockets were found in the contact interface ***,the adhesive models with a three-phase composite interface(including air pockets,liquid secretion,and hexagonal frames of arolium),were formed to analyze the wet adhesion of honeybee *** results of theoretical calculations and experiments indicated an enhanced adhesive mechanism of the honeybee by liquid self-sucking effects and air-embolism *** these effects,normal and shear adhesion can be adjusted by controlling the proportion of liquid secretion and air pockets in the contact ***,the air-embolism effects contribute to the optimal coupling of smaller normal adhesion with greater shear adhesion,which is beneficial for the high stride frequency of *** works can provide a fresh perspective on the development of bio-inspired wet adhesive surfaces.
