Lithium metal batteries(LMBs)and anode-free LMBs(AFLMBs)present a solution to the need for batteries with a significantly superior theoretical energy ***,their adoption is hindered by low Coulombic efficiency(CE)and rapid capacity fading,primarily due to the formation of unstable solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer and Li dendrite growth as a result of uneven Li ***,we report on the use of a stoichiometric Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)(S-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x))MXene coating on the copper current collector to enhance the cyclic stability of an anode-free lithium metal *** S-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)coating provides abundant nucleation sites,thereby lowering the overpotential for Li nucleation,and promoting uniform Li ***,the fluorine(-F)termination of S-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)participates in the SEI formation,producing a LiF-rich SEI layer,vital for stabilizing the SEI and improving cycle *** equipped with S-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@Cu current collectors displayed reduced Li consumption during stable SEI formation,resulting in a significant decrease in capacity *** with S-Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)@Cu current collectors achieved a high initial capacity density of 4.2 mAh cm^(-2),70.9%capacity retention after 50 cycles,and an average CE of 98.19%in 100 *** innovative application of MXenes in the energy field offers a promising strategy to enhance the performance of AFLMBs and could potentially accelerate their commercial adoption.

Patterns of Nutrient Intake among Male and Female High School-Aged Cross-Country Skiers and Speed Skaters

This study aimed to determine the appropriate nutritional intakes and dietary habits of high school-aged cross-country skiers and speed skaters. The subjects, all high school students from N Prefecture, included 18 male cross-country skiers, 5 male speed skaters, 10 female cross-country ski players and 4 female speed skaters. Physical measurements, food intake frequency survey results, bone mineral density and exercise stress test outcomes, and lactic acid measurements were evaluated. Female athletes in both sports had higher body fat percentages relative to the average range stated for female athletes. Male speed skaters had a significantly higher maximum oxygen in-take than that male cross-country skiers did. By contrast, this parameter did not differ significantly among female athletes. A negative correlation was observed between the fat free mass and muscle mass, and a positive correlation was observed among the body fat percentage, fat percentage, and fat mass. Both male and female athletes had protein intake ratios within the reference ranges. All athletes except male speed skaters had lipid energy ratios that were higher than the upper limit of the reference value. Both male and female athletes also reported carbohydrate energy ratios within the reference ranges, but had cereal energy ratios below the reference values. Athletes should pay attention to the ingestion of various nutrients to ensure a sufficient energy intake. Accordingly, adolescent athletes should consume daily meals containing a good balance of staple foods, main dishes, side dishes, milk and other dairy products, and fruits.

Chair-rising and 3-min walk: A simple screening test for functional mobility

Aging induces decrease of locomotor capacity and its decrease is associated with an increased risk of falls. Several lines of evidence indicate that both change in muscle power and aerobic fitness are causative. Mobility tests are usually based on a maximal exercise stress test;however, this test is often difficult and sometimes frightening to older persons. Therefore, the objective of this study was to examine age and gender differences in 3-min walk distance test (3WDT), and time of chair-rising test (CRT) of functional mobility. 153 men and 159 women aged from 20 to 78 years were recruited as subjects of the present study. The body composition measured the height, body mass (BM), body mass index (BMI), lean tissue mass (LTM), and waist circumference (WC). The Functional mobility tests measured the peak oxygen uptake (VO2peak), 3WDT, leg extension strength (LES), and times of CRT. Both in men and women, height and BMI, WC decreased and increased, respectively, with age. Height, BM, LTM, WC in men are higher than in women. We found no correlation between ages and 3WDT in women and a significant, negative correlation in men. All parameters of fitness performance were negatively correlated with age. Both in men and women, all parameters of fitness performance were positively correlated with sex. Both in men and women, VO2peak, 3WDT, and LES decreased with age. All parameters of fitness performance in men are higher than in women. Both in men and women were observed for the correlation between 3WDT and VO2peak, LES and CRT respectively. Although as the correlation coefficient between 3WTD and VO2peak, LES and CRT were low (r = 0.28 - 0.38), an error may occur, this study shows that 3WDT and CRT test can be a feasible method of providing the information for muscle power and aerobic fitness, possibly avoiding the need for a maximal stress test.

Monitoring of non-point source pollutants load from a mixed forest land use

The aim of this study was to determine the unit load of NPS （non-point source） pollutants including organic variables such as BOD （biochemical oxygen demand）, COD （chemical oxygen demand） and DOC （dissolved organic carbon）, nitrogen and phosphorus constituents, and suspended solids （SS） and their event mean concentration （EMC） of runoff flows from a water-shed of mixed forest land use by intensive field experiments. Field monitoring for continuous measurements of rainfall, flow, and water quality was conducted over 12 storm events during 2008-2009 using automated and manual sampling methods. The EMCs of individual runoff event were estimated for each water quality constituent based on the flow rate and concentration data of runoff discharge. The average EMCs of BOD, COD, DOC, SS, TN （total nitrogen）, NH4^＋-N, NO3^--N, TP （total phosphorus）, PO4^3-P from the mixed forest land were 1.794, 3.498, 1.462, 10.269, 0.862, 0.044, 0.634, 0.034, and 0.005 mg/L, respectively. The annual unit loads of BOD, COD, DOC, SS, TN, NH4^＋-N, NO3^--N, TP and PO4^3--P were estimated as 66.9, 133.2, 55.5, 429.8, 36.5, 1.6, 26.9, 1.3 and 0.1 kg/（ha·yr）, respectively. In addition, affecting parameters on the EMCs were investigated by statistic analysis of the field data. As a result, significant correlations with precipitation, rainfall intensity, and total runoff flows were found in most constituents.

Diel vertical migration of the copepod Calanus sinicus before and during formation of the Yellow Sea Cold Bottom Water in the Yellow Sea

To understand the effects of the Yellow Sea Cold Bottom Water （YSCBW） on the diel vertical migration （D- VM） of the copepod Calanus sinicus, we surveyed vertical distribution of C. sinicus at a fixed station in the Yellow Sea before （spring） and during （summer） formation of the YSCBW. Cold water （〈10℃） was observed in the bottom layer when the water column was thermally stratified in summer, but the water column was thermally well-mixed in spring 2010. Samples were collected from five different layers at 3-h intervals using an opening-closing net. Adult females （1-155 ind./m3） showed a clear normal DVM pattern throughout the entire water column in spring, whereas adult males did not migrate. DVM of copepodite V （CV） individuals was not clear, but the maximum abundance of CI-CIV occurred consistently in the upper 10-20 m layer, where there was a high concentration of chlorophyll-a （Chl-a）（0.49-1.19μg/L）. In summer, weak DVM was limited to cold waters beneath the thermocline for adult females （〈30 ind./m3）, but not for adult males. The maximum abundance of CI-CIV also occurred consistently in the subsurface layer （20-40 m） together with high concentrations of Chl-a （0.81-2.36 μg/L）. CV individuals （1-272 ind./m3） moved slightly upward noc- turnally to the near-surface layer （10-20 m）, where the average temperature was 25.74℃, but they were not found in the surface layer （0-10 m; 28.31℃）. These results indicate that the existence of the YSBCW affected food availability at depth and the vertical temperature distribution, leading to variation in the amplitude and shape of stage-specific vertical distributions （CI to adults） in C. sinicus before and during the formation of cold waters in the Yellow Sea during the study period.

BACKGROUND Surgical repair of complex abdominal aortic aneurysm is associated with a higher perioperative mortality and *** advent of endovascular aortic repair(EVAR)has reduced perioperative complications,although the utilization of such techniques is limited by lesion characteristics,such as involvement of the visceral or renal arteries(RA)and/or presence of a sealing *** SUMMARY A 60-year-old male presented with a Crawford type IV complex thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm(CAAA)starting directly distal to the diaphragm extending to both common iliac arteries(CIAs).The CAAA consist of a proximal and distal aneurysmal sac separated by a 1 cm-healthy zone in the infrarenal *** to the poor performance of the patient and the expansive disease,we planned a stepwise-combined surgery and EVAR to minimize invasiveness.A branched graft was implanted after surgical debranching of the visceral and *** the patient had renal and liver injury after surgery,the second stage EVAR was performed 10 mo *** stent graft was implanted from the distal portion of surgical branched graft to both CIAs during *** patient has been uneventful for 5-years after discharge and is being followed in the outpatient *** The current case demonstrates that the surgical graft can provide a landing zone for second stage EVAR to avoid aggressive surgery in patients with poor performance with a long hostile CAAA.

AN ANALOGUE OF KüNNETH THEOREM INSTRONG HOMOLOGY

After defining the strong tensor product of strong (sub)chain complenes, it is shown that an analogue of the Kunneth theorem holds in strong homology by proving that the kernel (cokernel) of connecting homomorphisms is isomorphic to the direct sum of torsion (tensor) products of strong homology groups. An isomorphism between strong (r-stage) homology groups of inverse systems is also constructed.

Phantom Maps from a Strong Homology Viewpoint

Let X and Y be connected nilpotent CW-complexes of finite type. In this paper we deal with another complete analysis of a set of phantom maps in terms of strong homology by using the derived functors. We also prove that the set of homotopy classes of maps is independent of the choice of both rational homotopy equivalent classes and completion genera.

Efficient Flexible M-Tree Bulk Loading Using FastMap and Space-Filling Curves

Many database applications currently deal with objects in a metric *** of such objects include unstructured multimedia objects and points of interest(POIs)in a road *** M-tree is a dynamic index structure that facilitates an efficient search for objects in a metric *** have been conducted on the bulk loading of large datasets in an ***,because previous algorithms involve excessive distance computations and disk accesses,they perform poorly in terms of their index construction and search *** study proposes two efficient M-tree bulk loading *** algorithms minimize the number of distance computations and disk accesses using FastMap and a space-filling curve,thereby significantly improving the index construction and search *** second algorithm is an extension of the first,and it incorporates a partitioning clustering technique and flexible node architecture to further improve the search *** the use of various synthetic and real-world datasets,the experimental results demonstrated that our algorithms improved the index construction performance by up to three orders of magnitude and the search performance by up to 20.3 times over the previous algorithm.
