A nano probe system which can measure precise contact force in mN scale was demonstrated. The nano probe micro parts or optical parts in nanometer range resolution and scratch was originally designed for on-machine measuring applications and one kind of contact type measuring probes was designed for miniaturized or microfactory system. It ideally should be of small size and able to measure surface topography in nanometer scale. A commercial capacitive displacement sensor was proposed. It was a new concept in nano probe systems which can measure the displacement of shaft driven by the variation of surface topography. The nano probe mainly consisted of three parts： a capacitive displacement sensor, a porous type air slide and a contact probe part with various tip radiuses. The porous type air slide assured the shaft slided smoothly with controllable normal force in mN scale and had high positioning accuracy. The probe part which was directly in contact with target surface, can be applied to micro/nanoscale scratching as well as the measurement of sample topography by a simple tip change.

Spasticity following spinal cord injury（SCI） results in functional deterioration and reduced quality of life. Herein, we report two SCI patients who presented with good response to pulsed radiofrequency（PRF） for the management of spasticity in the lower extremities. Patient 1（a 47-year-old man） had complete thoracic cord injury and showed a phasic spasticity on the extensor of both knees（3–4 beats clonus per every 30 seconds） and tonic spasticity（Modified Ashworth Scale： 3） on both hip adductors. Patient 2（a 64-yearold man） had incomplete cervical cord injury and showed a right ankle clonus（approximately 20 beats） when he walked. After the application of PRF to both L2 and L3 dorsal root ganglion（DRG）（patient 1） and right S1 DRG（patient 2） with 5 Hz and 5 ms pulsed width for 360 seconds at 45 V under the C-arm guide, all spasticity disappeared or was reduced. Moreover, the effects of PRF were sustained for approximately 6 months with no side effects. We believe that PRF treatment can be useful for patients with spasticity after SCI.

Dear editor,In many cases,S T-segment changes on electrocardiogram(ECG)are suggestive of acute coronary syndrome,but there may be other causes,[12]such as stress induced ***,reports of such changes in patients with pneumothorax are very rare.[3-1]Here,we report a case of ST-segment elevation due to stress-induced cardiomyopathy in a patient with pneumothorax.

Nano-particles have several interesting properties which are not shown in bulk materials because of their high ratio of surface area to volume. FeCo alloy nano-particles with soft magnetic properties are demanded for various applications such as optics, eletronics and magnetics. Through the polyol method, highly purified particles with mono-dispersibility in various sizes can be produced and used as high-tech functional materials. In this study, the magnetic characteristics of FeCo alloy with Ag seed added in the production process of mono-dispersed nano-particles through the polyol method were investigated.

In the present study, the stabilization effects of the laying of a drainage layer in a sandy beach were analyzed. The numerical model developed by Hur et al. （2011） was used to examine the characteristics of wave-sandy beach interaction with/without a drainage layer. This numericai model directly simulates Wave-Structure-Seabed/Sandy （WASS） beach interaction by consid- ering flow through a porous medium with inertia, laminar and turbulent resistances, and determines the eddy viscosity with the Large Eddy Simulation （LES） turbulent model in a 3-D wave field （LES-WASS-3D）. Based on the numerical results, it ap- pears that the installation of a drainage layer in the beach results in a decrease in both the mean groundwater level around the foreshore and the flow moving offshore on the beach surface. Spatial distributions of the mean groundwater level and wave setup around the foreshore with various arrangements of the drainage layer and conditions of the incident wave are also discussed in this paper.

This study was performed to identify how the different levels of nitrogen application affected the variances of gluten properties and end-use qualities and the differences of variances among Korean wheat cultivars. Protein and dry gluten content, SDS sedimentation volume and water absorption of Mixolab increased as nitrogen application increased. This ratio of the increase was higher in Korean wheat cultivars for bread than in Korean wheat cultivars for noodles and cookies. The proportion of（α＋β）-gliadin measured by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography（RP-HPLC） increased, but the proportion of ω-and γ-gliadin decreased as the protein content increased. The Korean wheat cultivars for bread showed a high proportion of（α＋β）-gliadin increase, the Korean cultivars for noodles had a high proportion of γ-gliadin decrease and the Korean wheat cultivars for cookies had a high proportion of ω-gliadin decrease. However, there was no variation of the component in the proportion of glutenin component measured by RP-HPLC, even though the protein content was increased, but all of the protein fractions measured by size exclusion（SE）-HPLC were increased. The soluble monomeric protein showed a high proportion of Korean wheat cultivars for bread by the increase of protein content. Bread loaf volume increased by the increase of protein content but there were no variances in the ratio of increase among Korean wheat cultivars. The cookie diameter decreased with the increase of protein content, and this ratio of decrease was the highest in Korean wheat cultivars for cookies. The hardness of cooked noodles also increased by the increase of protein content but there were no variations in springiness and cohesiveness. The decrease proportion of ω-gliadin affected the increase of bread loaf volume, the hardness of cooked noodles, and the decrease of cookie diameter.

Since the development of positron emission tomography in 1937, the number of medical cyclotrons used in producing radioisotopes (RI) has risen sharply. In its operation, the structural materials of a medical cyclotron and the concrete shielding of its vault are activated by neutrons. In analyzing domestic and international decommissioning practices, the dismantling characteristics of medical cyclotrons result in a large amount of radioactive wastes, such as concrete, although their activity level is very low. In the United States, the dismantling plan must be established by the applicant. The decommissioning funding plan (DFP) is a financial assurance demonstration based on a site-specific cost estimate of decommissioning the facility. In 10 CFR 30.35, NRC requires the submission of DFP in the case of the possession and use of unsealed byproduct materials with a half-life of greater than 120 days and in quantities exceeding 105 times that of the applicable quantities. The dismantling of the Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) cyclotron (TR-13) was performed in December 2012. Some of the risks resulting from this dismantling are related to radioactive wastes, as well as issues concerning dismantling costs. Hence, we propose introducing the DFP at the authorization stage. DFP will be helpful in preparing reliable decommissioning plans for safe decommissioning and unexpected early decommissioning in the future. DFP can also contribute in reducing radioactive waste and in decreasing the decommissioning cost by preventing excessive establishments. This study provided an overview of the decommissioning aspects of the SNUH cyclotron and the necessity of adopting the DFP for decommissioning medical cyclotrons. © 2014, Science Press. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the molecular effect of Socheongryong Tang(SCRT,Xiaoqinglong Tang in Chinese) on whole genome level in asthma mouse model by microarray ***:Asthma was induced by intranasal instillation of ovalbumin in *** administration of SCRT on asthma-induced mouse,the expression of genes in lung tissue was measured using whole genome *** functional implication of differentially expressed genes was performed using ontological analysis and the similarity of promoter structure of genes was also ***:Treatment of SCRT restored expression level of many up- or down-regulated genes in asthma model,and this recovery rate means SCRT could regulate a set of genes having specific TFBS binding ***:In this study,we identified a set of genes subjected to similar regulation by SCRT in asthma model in mice.

Development of Preliminary Design Program for Combustor of Regenerative Cooled Liquid Rocket Engine

An integrated program was established to design a combustor for a liquid rocket engine and to analyze regenerative cooling results on a preliminary design *** of burnt gas from a kerosene-LOx mixture in the combustor and rocket performance were calculated from CEA which is the code for the calculation of chemical *** heat transfer of regenerative cooling was analyzed by using SUPERTRAPP code for coolant properties and by one-dimensional correlations of the heat transfer coefficient from the combustor liner to the *** of the combustors of F-1 and RS-27A engines were designed from similar input data and the present results were compared to actual data for ***,the combustors of 30 tonf class,75 tonf class and 150 tonf class were designed from the required thrust,combustion chamber,exit pressure and mixture ratio of *** wall temperature,heat flux and pressure drop were calculated for heat transfer analysis of regenerative cooling using the profiles.
