Titanate Nanorods Modified with Nanocrystalline ZnS Particles and Their Photocatalytic Activity on Pollutant Removal

Aiming to produce materials with enhanced photocatalytic properties, the synthesis of new crystalline nanocomposites by combining titanate nanorods（TNR） with ZnS nanocrystallites is described in this *** TNR modification was ac.omplished by an in situ nucleation and growth process of ZnS *** diethyldithiocarbamate was used as the metal chalcogenide precursor. The prepared materials were structural, morphological and optical characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron mic.oscopy and high resolution transmission electron mic.oscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy and powder diffuse reflectance spectra. crystalline Zn S nanoparticles were obtained as a homogeneous and continuous layer, covering completely the TNR surface. The application of these new nanocomposite materials on photocatalytic degradation of pollutants was investigated. First, the evaluation of hydroxyl radical formation, using the terephthalic acid as probe, was studied. Afterwards, the adsorption and photodegradation of safranine-T, used here as a model pollutant molecule, was investigated. The obtained data indicate that the prepared nanocomposites have potential to be used as photocatalysts for organic pollutant *** best removal results（97% removal） were obtained using the 0.01 Zn S/HTNR sample as catalyst（0.2 g/L; 10 ppm safranin-T solution） with a combination of a low dye adsorption（20%） and a high dye photocatalytic degradation（77%）.

Gd_(0.67)ca_(0.33)Mno_3(Gc.o)thin films grown by laser ablation on SrTio_3(100)(STo)substrates was studied. Films are highly crystallized, very well epitaxial and single-phased. The ordering magnetic temperature(T_c.of the films is much higher than the value of bulk samples of similar composition. It is found that the Gc.o film exhibits a reversal of its magnetization at low temperature when c.oled under a magnetic field. The negative magnetization is a consequence of the rapid increase(～1/T)with decreasing temperature of the magnetization of a sublattice aligned antiparallel to the local field, relative to the magnetic contribution of a second sublattice which is aligned parallel to the applied field.

The aim of the present work is fabrication of dual c.oss linked sodium alginate(SA)/montmorillonite(MMT) mic.obeads as a potential drug vehicle for extended release of curcumin(cUR). The mic.obeads were prepared using in situ ion-exchange followed by simple ionotropic gelation technique. The developed beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry(DSc), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), X-ray diffraction(X-RD) and scanning electron mic.oscopy(SEM). The effect of MMT on encapsulation efficiency of cUR and intercalation kinetics was investigated. Dynamic swelling study and in vitro release study were investigated in simulated intestinal fluid(pH 7.4) and simulated gastric fluid(pH 1.2) at 37 ℃. Results suggested that both the swelling and in vitro release studies were influenced by the pH of test media, which might be suitable for intestinal drug delivery. The release mechanism was analyzed by fitting the release data into KorsmeyerPeppas equation.

Loranthus micranthus is the species of mistletoe peculiar to the eastern province of *** has been shown to possess anti-diabetic,anumotility,antimic.obial and antihypertensive activities which are host-tree dependent. The antimic.obial activity was found to vary with the season during which the plant was *** are of the opinion that this species should possess immunomodulating potentials as have been reported for the European species,Viscum *** our efforts to establish the bio-activities and active principles in our local mistletoe, the immunomodulatory activity of n-hexane and methanol extracts from Loranthus micranthus parasitic.on Persea americana was assessed at three dose levels ranging from 100 to 400 mg/kg body weight using delayed type hypersensitivity reaction(DTHR) and cyc.ophosphamide-induced myelosuppression models in *** was compared with responses from a standard immunostimulatory drug,*** phytochemical analysis of the plant showed the presence of tannins,flavonoids,alkaloids,terpenoids,carbohydrates and *** analysis indicated a dose-dependent response relationship in the parameters measured with over 170%increase for both extracts at the highest dose *** one way ANoVA test showed significant variation in the parameters between the controls and the different dose ***,at 95%confidence level,(Po statistically significant difference between the two extracts, an indication that the active immunomodulant(s) could be both in the polar and non-polar crude *** conclusion,the present results have established some immune stimulating actions of the Eastern Nigeria mistletoe, Loranthus micranthus thus indicating that this variant of the semi parasitic plant holds a strong promise as an immunostimulatory *** is therefore,a basis for further detailed investigation on the fractions and specific ***,these extracts from Loranthus micranthu

In this study,we implemented the type Ⅱ seesaw mechanism into the framework of the U(l)B-L gauge *** achieve this,we added a scalar triplet,A,to the canonical particle content of the U(l)B-Lgauge *** imposing that the U(l)B-L gauge symmetry be spontaneously broken at TeV scale,we show that the type Ⅱ seesaw mechanism is realized at an intermediate energy scale,more precisely,at approximately 109 *** prevent heavy right-handed neutrinos from disturbing the mechanism,we evoke a Z2 discrete ***,as a result,we have standard neutrinos with mass around eV scale and right-handed neutrinos with mass in TeV scale,with the lightest one fulfilling the condition of dark *** developed all of these in this *** addition,we show that the neutral component of Δ may perform unproblematic non-minimal inflation with loss of unitarity.

Sulfate-reducing bacteria(SRB)has been pointed out as one of the causative agents of mic.obial induced corrosion in the marine *** address this problem,novel strategies are being experimented as against the earlier methods which have been banned due to their toxic effects on useful aquatic ***,the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of non-toxic perfluorodecyltrichlorosilane(PFDTS)on resistance of hydrophobic poly(dimethylsiloxane)/phosphoric acid-treated zinc.oxide(PDMS/PA-treated Zno)coatings to SRB-induced biofouling and *** surface features of the coatings before and after exposure to SRB/Nacl solution were analyzed by scanning electron mic.oscopy(SEM).Wettability of the coatings before and after exposure was also *** interaction of SRB with the coatings was investigated by FTIR *** resistance performance of the modified coatings against SRB-induced corrosion was monitored by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS).The EIS measurements revealed that 0.20 g PFDTS-based coating displayed highest corrosion resistance with impedance modulus of 6.301×10^10 after 15 d of exposure to SRB/Nacl *** results were corroborated by surface and chemical interaction analyses,and thus,indicate that 0.20 g PFDTSmodified PDMS/PA-treated Zno coating has potentials for excellent SRB-induced corrosion resistance and anti-biofouling performance.

Finite element analysis of the effect of interlayer on interfacial stress transfer in layered graphene nanocomposites

Understanding the roles of interlayers in reinforcement efficiencies by layered graphene is very important in order to produce strong and light graphene based nanocomposites. The present paper uses the finite element method to evaluate the interfacial strain transfers and reinforcement efficiencies in layered graphene-polymer composites. Results indicate that the presence of compliant interlayers in layered graphene plays significant roles in the transfers of strain/stress from matrix to graphene and subsequently the reinforcement effectiveness of layered graphene. In general, the magnitude of shear strain transferred onto the rigid graphene decreases as the thickness of the interlayer increases. This trend becomes insignificant as the graphene becomes sufficiently large(s>25,000). The shear strain at the interface of graphene-matrix is also greatly influenced by the interlayer modulus. A stiffer interlayer would result in a higher shear strain transferred on the graphene. The performance of the interlayers is further affected by the property of the composite and the architecture of the layered graphene stack. If a composite contains more graphene phase, the efficiency of reinforcement by a layered graphene becomes improved. If a graphene stack contains more interlayers, the effectiveness of reinforcement at the edges of the graphene becomes negatively affected.

Analytical modeling of effect of interlayer on effective moduli of layered graphene-polymer nanocomposites

Nanocomposites enhanced with two-dimensional, layered graphene fillers are a new class of engineering materials that exhibit superior properties and characteristics to composites with conventional ***, the roles of ＂interlayers＂ in layered graphene fillers have yet to be fully explored. This paper examines the effect of interlayers on mechanical properties of layered graphene polymer *** an effective filler, the fundamental properties（in-plane Young＇s modulus E（L1）, out-of-plane Young＇s modulus E（L2）; shear modulus G（L12）, major Poisson＇s ratio V（L12）） of the layered graphene were computed by using the Arridge＇s lamellar model. The effects of interlayers on effective moduli of layered graphene epoxy composites were examined through the Tandon-Weng model. The properties of the interlayer show noticeable impact on elastic properties of the composites, particular the out-of-plane properties（Young＇s modulus E2 and shear modulus G（12））. The interlayer spacing is seen to have much great influence on properties of the composites. As the interlayer spacing increases from 0.34 nm to 2 nm, all elastic properties of the composites have been greatly decreased.

This study was to assess the impact of permanent or temporary restricted feeding on laying hen production traits,physiology,and egg *** hundred and forty individually housed ISA Brown hens were monitored ac.oss 2 phases,assigned to 3 treatments:ad libitum feeding(ALF),temporary restricted feeding(TRF)and permanent restricted feeding(PRF),n=80 hens per *** Phase 1(P1),22 to40 weeks,the TRF and PRF hens were offered 115 g of feed *** Phase 2(P2),41 to 46 weeks,the TRF hens were transitioned to ALF status while the ALF and PRF hens remained as in *** 35 to 40 weeks,eggs were collected once weekly from 15 hens per treatment and assessed for differences in albumen,yolk,and shell *** 45 weeks,10 hens each from the ALF and PRF groups were euthanized and differences in organ characteristics were *** P1,feed intake,feed to egg conversion ratio and body weight(BW)change were lower(Poth PRF and TRF hen treatments compared to hens allocated the ALF *** P2,TRF and ALF hens had a higher egg production and egg mass than PRF(Pchange in P2 was higher in TRF and similar in both ALF and PRF,while feed intake and feed conversion ratio were higher in TRF followed by ALF and least in the PRF treatment group(Pominal fat pad weight and fatty liver haemorrhagic syndrome lesion score compared to *** hens to 115 g of feed per day from point of lay restrained BW,improved feed conversion ratio and albumen quality and reduced abdominal fat pad deposition and clinical signs of fatty liver haemorrhagic syndrome in individually housed laying hens.

In this article,we investigate the nonrelativistic quantum motion of a charged particle within a rotating frame,taking into ac.ount the Aharonov–Bohm(AB)effect and a uniform magnetic *** analysis entails the derivation of the equation of motion and the corresponding radial equation to describe the *** the resulting radial equation enables us to determine the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions,providing a clear expression for the energy ***,our numerical analysis highlights the substantial influence of rotation on both energy levels and optical ***,we evaluate the photoionization c.oss-section with and without the effects of *** elucidate the impact of rotation on the photoionization process of the system,we present graphics that offer an appealing visualization of the intrinsic nature of the physics involved.
