Increased incidence of chemoport-related thrombosis in patients with colorectal cancer receiving bevacizumab: A single-institutional experience

Objective： Chemoport-related thrombosis （CRT） is a serious complication that causes morbidities and interruptsadministration of intravenous cancer therapy. We investigated the incidence and risk of CRT in colorectal cancer（CRC） patients treated with bevacizumab （BEV）.Methods： We retrospectively reviewed 1,534 CRC patients who received chemotherapy with or without BEVusing a chemoport between 2014 and ***： The participants had a median age of 58 （18-85） years, and 60.3% were male. All participants werestratified into three groups： adjuvant chemotherapy （AC）（n=670）, palliative chemotherapy （PC） without BEV（n=356）, and PC with BEV （n=508）. The median follow-up was 20.19 （interquartile range, 14.07-27.19） *** occurred in 3.8% of all patients; incidence of symptomatic and asymptomatic CRT was 2.9% and 0.9%,respectively. CRT occurred more in patients with BEV （5.7%） than in patients without BEV （2.9%, P=0.008）. Thecumulative incidence of CRT in patients administered PC with BEV was significantly higher than that in thoseadministered AC （P=0.011） and there was a trend toward increased CRY in patients administered PC with BEVcompared with those administered PC without BEV （P=0.044）. Multivariate analysis found that BEV treatment wasthe only variable that was significandy associated with CRT （hazard ratio, 2.06; 95% confidence interval, 1.24-3.43;P=0.006）.Conclusions： BEV treatment was significandy associated with increased incidence of CRT in CRC patients.

Prostate stem cell antigen（PSCA） is a cell-membrane glycoprotein consisting of 123 amino acids and highly expressed in the prostate,but there have been few reports on the relationship between rs2294008 of PSCA and prostate cancer in the ***,we evaluated the association between rs2294008 and the risk of prostate cancer.A total of 240 prostate cancer patients and 306 controls（patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia） were *** analysis of rs2294008 of PSCA was performed using *** regression analysis was performed according to the genotype of PSCA *** found that CT and TT genotypes were associated with an insignificant risk of prostate cancer compared with the CC genotype（P= 0.627 and 0.397,respectively）.In addition,there was no significant difference in rs2294008 according to clinicopathological parameters,such as age,Gleason score,prostate-specific antigen（PSA）,stage,and metastasis in prostate cancer（P 〉 0.05 for each）.Age,Gleason score,PSA,pathologic stage,and metastasis did not modify the association between PSCA and the risk of prostate cancer（each P 〉 0.05 for each）.Taken together,the genetic polymorphism of PSCA rs2294008 was not associated with the risk of prostate *** results suggest that rs2294008 may not play a role in prostate carcinogenesis.

Background: Controlled-release oxycodone/naloxone(OXN-CR) maintains the effect of opioid-induced analgesia through oxycodone while reducing the occurrence rate of opioid-induced constipation through naloxone. The present study was designed to assess the non-inferiority of OXN-CR to controlled-release oxycodone(OX-CR) for the control of cancer-related pain in Korean ***: In this randomized, open-labeled, parallel-group, phase IV study, we enrolled patients aged 20 years or older with moderate to severe cancer-related pain [numeric rating scale(NRS) pain score ≥4] from seven Korean oncology/hematology centers. Patients in the intention-to-treat(ITT) population were randomized(1:1) to OXNCR or OX-CR groups. OXN-CR was administered starting at 20 mg/10 mg per day and up-titrated to a maximum of80 mg/40 mg per day for 4 weeks, and OX-CR was administered starting at 20 mg/day and up-titrated to a maximum of 80 mg/day for 4 *** primary efficacy endpoint was the change in NRS pain score from baseline to week4, with non-inferiority margin of-1.5. Secondary endpoints included analgesic rescue medication intake, patientreported change in bowel habits, laxative intake, quality of life(QoL), and safety ***: Of the ITT population comprising 128 patients, 7 with missing primary efficacy data and 4 who violated the eligibility criteria were excluded from the efficacy analysis. At week 4, the mean change in NRS pain scores was not significantly different between the OXN-CR group(n = 58) and the OX-CR group(n = 59)(-1.586 vs.-1.559,P = 0.948). The lower limit of the one-sided 95% confidence interval(-0.776 to 0.830) for the difference exceeded the non-inferiority margin(P < 0.001). Objective:To examine the relationship between benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and the presence of lower urinary tract ***:We retrospectively reviewed the records of men with lower urinary tract stones who presented to three clinical centers in Korea over a 4-year *** divided the patients into two groups based on the location of urinary stones:Group 1(bladder calculi)and Group 2(urethral calculi).We compared the characteristics of both groups and performed univariate and multivariate analyses with a logistic regression model to investigate the relationship between BPH and lower urinary tract ***:Of 221 patients,194(87.8%)had bladder calculi and 27(12.2%)had urethral *** mean age of Group 1 was higher than that of Group 2(68.9612.11 years vs.55.7414.20 years,p<0.001).The mean prostate volume of Group 1 was higher than that of Group 2(44.4727.14 mL vs.24.706.41 mL,respectively,p<0.001).Multivariate logistic regression showed that age(OR Z 1.075,95%CI:1.023e1.129)and prostate volume(OR Z 1.069,95%CI:1.017e1.123)were independently associated with increased risk for bladder *** urinary tract stones and/or hydronephrosis conferred a 3-fold risk for urethral calculi(OR Z 3.468,95%CI:1.093e10.999).Conclusion:Age and prostate volume are independent risk factors for bladder *** addition,men with upper urinary tract disease are at greater risk for urethral calculi,which may migrate from the upper urinary tract rather than from the bladder.

Carbazole moiety-based 2PACz([2-(9H-carbazol-9-yl)ethyl]phosphonic acid)self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)are excellent hole-selective contact(HSC)materials with abilities to excel the charge-transferdynamics of perovskite solar cells(PSCs).Herein,we report a facile but powerful method to functionalize the surface of 2PACz-SAM,by which reproducible,highly stable,high-efficiency wide-bandgap PSCs can be *** 2PACz surface treatment with various donor number solvents improves assembly of 2PACz-SAM and leave residual surface-bound solvent molecules on 2PACz-SAM,which increases perovskite grain size,retards halide segregation,and accelerates hole *** surface functionalization achieves a high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 17.62%for a single-junction wide-bandgap(~1.77 e V)*** also demonstrate a monolithic all-perovskite tandem solar cell using surfaceengineered HSC,showing high PCE of 24.66%with large open-circuit voltage of 2.008 V and high fillfactor of 81.45%.Our results suggest this simple approach can further improve the tandem device,when coupled with a high-performance narrow-bandgap sub-cell.

550 MHz carbon nanotube mode-locked femtosecond Cr:YAG laser

We demonstrate a femtosecond Cr：YAG laser mode-locked by a carbon nanotube saturable absorber mirror（CNT-SAM） at a repetition rate of 550 MHz. By employing the CNT-SAM, which exhibits a modulation depth of 0.51% and a saturation fluence of 28 μJ∕cm^2 at 1.5 μm, we achieved a compact bulk Cr：YAG laser with selfstarting mode-locked operation near 1.5 μm, delivering an average output power of up to 147 m W and a pulse duration of 110 fs. To our knowledge, this system provides the highest repetition rate among reported CNT-SAM mode-locked Cr：YAG lasers and the shortest pulse duration among saturable absorber mode-locked Cr：YAG lasers with repetition rates above 500 MHz.

Efficacy of chemotherapy containing bevacizumab in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer according to programmed cell death ligand 1
