We study the electronic structures of LiMn2O4 by x-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS, UPS） and resonant photoelectron spectroscopy （RPES）. XPS data suggest that the average oxidation state of Mn ions is 3.55, probably due to the small amount of lithium oxides on the surface. UPS and RPES data imply that Mn ions are in a high spin state, and RPES results show strong Mn3d-O2p hybridization in the LiMn2O4 valence band.

I will review some key aspects of the physical conditions of the line emitting regions in AGN. The innermost BLR extends at radii of light days to light weeks from the central ionizing source. There are strong indications that the BLR clouds are connected to the outer region of an accretion disk. Trends of radial acceleration of the line emitting clouds have been found in the extended narrow line region. Ⅰ will concentrate on observations taken in the optical wavelength range. Finally, Ⅰ will discuss different methods to determine the mass of the central supermassive black hole from the emission lines.

Per-and polyfluorinated alkyl substances(PFASs)have been used since the 1950s as chrome mist suppressant(CMS)in the electroplating *** this study,various samples within an electroplating factory,the related wastewater treatment facilities and surrounding environment at Hangzhou Bay in Southeast China were investigated for the occurrence and removal of *** and 6:2 Cl-PFAES are predominant compounds in the *** PFASs in the bath solution of the workshops had some differences from the final releases,partly because of the historic usage and memory *** and 6:2 Cl-PFAES were found in high concentration(5500 and 154.5 mg/L in influent,795 and 985 mg/L in effluent)in the electroplating Wastewater Treatment Plant(WWTP).The ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis(RO)treatment had a significant removal efficiency(74%e100%).On the other hand the reduction,precipitation and anaerobic/anoxic/oxic(A2/O)treatment had poor removal efficiency for *** receiving river samples had levels of PFASs between 300 and 1500 ng/L,and the concentrations of PFOS and 6:2 Cl-PFAES decreased with increasing distance to the municipal WWTP outlet due to *** concentrations of PFOA in the river water samples were also high but might originate from other *** relevant ecological risk is noteworthy,especially for PFOS and PFOA for which limits have been *** is an urgent need to control plating industries in China and *** a GEF project related to Stockholm Convention implementation has reduced and possibly eliminated PFOS use and release in the plating industry in *** addition,it will be important to evaluate and control the alternatives used.

Oxidative Degradation of 2,4,6-Trichlorophenolin the Presence of Air Ions

2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP) was firstly treated with air ions generated by electric discharge, and high dechlorination (53%) was observed after 60 min treatment, indicating that air ions are an efficient dechlorination means and might have a future in the oxidative removal of chlorinated phenols. In addition, a stepwise degradation of TCP, beginning with the formation of a major product 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzenediol via substitution, is proposed through a detailed analysis of gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.

Open Peer Review in Scientific Publishing: A Web Mining Study of Peer J Authors and Reviewers

Purpose: To understand how authors and reviewers are accepting and embracing Open Peer Review(OPR), one of the newest innovations in the Open Science ***/methodology/approach: This research collected and analyzed data from the Open Access journal Peer J over its first three years(2013–2016). Web data were scraped, cleaned, and structured using several Web tools and programs. The structured data were imported into a relational database. Data analyses were conducted using analytical tools as well as programs developed by the ***: Peer J, which supports optional OPR, has a broad international representation of authors and referees. Approximately 73.89% of articles provide full review histories. Of the articles with published review histories, 17.61% had identities of all reviewers and 52.57% had at least one signed reviewer. In total, 43.23% of all reviews were signed. The observed proportions of signed reviews have been relatively stable over the period since the Journal’s *** limitations: This research is constrained by the availability of the peer review history data. Some peer reviews were not available when the authors opted out of publishing their review histories. The anonymity of reviewers made it impossible to give an accurate count of reviewers who contributed to the review process. Practical implications: These findings shed light on the current characteristics of OPR. Given the policy that authors are encouraged to make their articles’ review history public and referees are encouraged to sign their review reports, the three years of Peer J review data demonstrate that there is still some reluctance by authors to make their reviews public and by reviewers to identify themselves. Originality/value: This is the first study to closely examine Peer J as an example of an OPR model journal. As Open Science moves further towards open research, OPR is a final and critical component. BACKGROUND Superimposed high-frequency jet ventilation(SHFJV)is suitable for respiratory motion reduction and essential for effective lung tumor *** filling of the target lung wing one-lung flooding(OLF)is necessary for therapeutic ultrasound ***,whether unilateral SHFJV allows adequate hemodynamics and gas exchange is *** To compared SHFJV with pressure-controlled ventilation(PCV)during OLF by assessing hemodynamics and gas exchange in different animal *** SHFJV or PCV was used alternatingly to ventilate the non-flooded lungs of the 12 anesthetized pigs during *** animal positions were changed from left lateral position to supine position(SP)to right lateral position(RLP)every 30 *** each position,ventilation was maintained for 15 min in both *** variables and arterial blood gas levels were repeatedly *** Unilateral SHFJV led to lower carbon dioxide removal than PCV without abnormally elevated carbon dioxide *** slightly decreased oxygenation in SP and RLP compared with PCV;the lowest values of PaO_(2) and PaO_(2)/FiO_(2) ratio were found in SP[13.0;interquartile range(IQR):12.6-5.6 and 32.5(IQR:31.5-38.9)kPa].Conversely,during SHFJV,the shunt fraction was higher in all animal positions(highest in the RLP:0.30).CONCLUSION In porcine model,unilateral SHFJV may provide adequate ventilation in different animal positions during *** oxygenation and CO_(2) removal rates compared to PCV did not lead to hypoxia or *** can be safely used for lung tumor ablation to minimize ventilation-induced lung motion.
