The Pythagorean triples (a, b | c) of planar geometry which satisfy the equation a2+b2=c2 with integers (a, b, c) are generalized to 3D-Pythagorean quadruples (a, b, c | d) of spatial geometry which satisfy the equation a2+b2+c2=d2 with integers (a, b, c, d). Rules for a parametrization of the numbers (a, b, c, d) are derived and a list of all possible nonequivalent cases without common divisors up to d2 is established. The 3D-Pythagorean quadruples are then generalized to 4D-Pythagorean quintuples (a, b, c, d | e) which satisfy the equation a2+b2+c2+d2=e2 and a parametrization is derived. Relations to the 4-square identity are discussed which leads also to the N-dimensional case. The initial 3D- and 4D-Pythagorean numbers are explicitly calculated up to d2, respectively, e2.

The objective of this paper is to evaluate the reliability of a system in its different states (absence of failures, partial failure and total failure) and to propose actions to improve this reliability by an approach based on Monte Carlo simulation. It consists of a probabilistic evaluation based on Markov Chains. In order to achieve this goal, the functionalities of Markov Chains and Monte Carlo simulation steps are deployed. The application is made on a production system. .

本研究于2020至2021年在西喀尔巴阡山脉的山麓地区进行,研究了高山天南星(Arum alpinum)的物种数量和选定特征的空间-时间变异。调查分别在4个永久样地中进行(Patch Ⅰ、Ⅱ、Ⅲ、Ⅳ)。Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅲ位于以低矮植被为主的枫树-鹅耳枥林(Tilio cordatae-Carpinetum betuli)林地中,而Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ位于以阔叶物种为主的白杨(Populetum albae)河滩林中。调查结果表明,高山天南星最丰富种群出现在Patch Ⅰ,但Patch Ⅱ和Patch Ⅳ中也存在大量的营养体和繁殖个体。个体性状的时间变异性在Patch Ⅳ最低,其次是Patch Ⅰ和Patch Ⅱ,在Patch Ⅲ最高。所有种群中均发现叶柄长度与叶片尺寸以及有性茎长度与果序特征之间的关系显著呈正相关,这一发现证实了先前的研究。这些研究结果表明,高山天南星与特定的森林群落没有密切关联。充足的遮荫和湿润富养分的土壤对该物种有利,而干燥的土壤和过多的日照可能会限制其个体的开花与结果。

为了应对人工智能系统带来的各种挑战,《欧盟人工智能法案》采用基于风险分类的监管路径。法案首先明确禁止了某些存在不可接受风险的人工智能系统,然后重点规制高风险人工智能系统,任何在欧盟市场上提供此类系统的企业都必须满足法案规定的从风险管理、数据治理到全面的记录义务等诸多要求。但是,法案的监管要求可能造成小微企业负担过重,模糊的规定也可能导致实施方面的困难。在劳动关系领域,对雇员进行社会评分、预测雇员犯罪风险、分析雇员情绪等人工智能系统可能因为存在不可接受的风险而被禁止。对岗位申请者和雇员使用人工智能系统的,则根据是否属于高风险系统而负担不同的义务。除了要让雇主向雇员提供相关人工智能技能培训以外,工作中使用ChatGPT的问题也值得关注。

Fluoride is an impurity in nickel sulfate production,which is required for electric vehicle batteries.Hydrous zirconium oxide(HZO)was evaluated for removing fl uoride from nickel sulfate solution.Maximum fluoride removal occurred at pH value 4 and optimal pH value is 4–5,considering Zr solubility.Fluoride availability decreases with pH due to hydrogen fluoride and zirconium fluoride aqueous species.Fluoride removal is initially rapid,with 50 wt.%removal in 7 min,followed by slow removal up to 68 wt.%after 72 h and follows second order rate kinetics.Fluoride removal was dominated by an ion exchange mechanism and resulting Zr–F bonds were observed using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy.The presence of nickel sulfate decreased loading capacity compared to a salt-free solution.HZO maintained adsorption capacity through five cycles of loading and regeneration.

Superdirective Circular Arrays of Electric and Huygens Dipole Elements

Uniform circular arrays(UCAs)provide both omnidirectional(360°)and directive(sector)coverage of the azimuthal plane.Superdirective versions with unidirectional,high front-to-back ratio(FTBR)properties could provide the radiated field char-acteristics being pursued for NextG wireless networks and their perceived applications.Typical UCA configurations–full,semi-circular,and sector–that radiate vertically-polarized(VP)fields and are composed of either omnidirectional electric dipole ele-ments or unidirectional Huygens dipole elements are analyzed first with conventional methods as reference cases.These omni-and uni-directional element configurations are then treated with several optimization techniques:the classic Rayleigh-quotient(RQ)method and its unidirectional-constrained version;the eigenbeam decomposition and synthesis(EBDS)technique used to design su-perdirective acoustic receiving arrays;and the Bessel-azimuthal multipole(BEAM)approach developed herein.Several arrays are identified as being superdirective with extremely high FTBR values.The performance characteristics of the arrays of unidirectional elements are demonstrated to be superior in general.Moreover,it is shown that larger radius arrays with RQ-specified excitation amplitudes are robust to changes in them whereas the outcomes of the corresponding small radius versions are not.On the other hand,the BEAM-optimized densely-packed small-radius superdirective arrays are quite tolerant to those variations while generating unidirectional pseudo-needle beams.

The sex-biased dispersal and kinship dynamics are important factors shaping the spatial distribution of individuals and are key parameters affecting a variety of ecological and evolutionary processes.Here,we studied the spatial distribution of related individuals within a population of corn mice Calomys musculinus in a seasonal cycle to infer dispersal patterns.The sampling was carried out from spring 2005 to winter 2006 in field borders of intensively managed agroecosystems.Genotyping data from 346 individuals with 9 microsatellites showed spatial genetic structure was weak for males,but not for females.The results indicate a complex spatial kinship dynamic of related females across all seasons.which,contrary to our expectations,dispersal distances decrease with the increase of the population abundance.Meanwhile,male dispersal distances were greater when population abundance increased and thus the availability of active females.Males disperse greater distances to mate and sire offspring with distant females as a possible inbreeding avoidance mechanism.This study shows that C.musculinus is capable of much greater scattering distances than previously reported and that dispersal occurs fluidly and without barriers across the agroecosystem.The indirect benefit of dispersal on individual fitness could be related to relaxing the competition in the natal area and increasing the mating rate.Our study highlights the value of combining genetic relatedness,fieldwork observations,and behavioral data to estimate dispersal at a fine geographical scale.

针对全硅光电生物传感器的硅基单片集成应用需求,提出了基于多晶硅级联自发光器件的单片集成传感器,对其中作为关键部分的多晶硅光源进行了试制,采用标准0.35μm的CMOS工艺对该光源进行了流片验证,并设计了适配的全硅波导检测结构。结果表明,多晶硅光源发光特征峰为635 nm、700 nm和785 nm,该特征峰作为波导入射光源时,设计的全硅波导检测结构能够实现检测目的。
