Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) is the most common primary liver malignancy and represents an international public health concern as one of the most deadly cancers *** main etiology of HCC is chronic infection with hepatitis B and hepatitis C ***,there are other important factors that contribute to the international burden of *** these are obesity,diabetes,non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and dietary *** evidence suggests that the etiology of many cases of HCC is in fact multifactorial,encompassing infectious etiologies,comorbid conditions and environmental *** of relevant non-viral causes of HCC will aid in preventative efforts to curb the rising incidence of this disease.

The fly ashes(Class F and C)have been successfully used as the main substrates in the hydrothermal syntheses of Na-A,Na-P1,Na-X and sodalite *** ashes and their derivatives after milling with magnetic field grinder were *** paper investigates the effect of fly ash fraction size on the syntheses efficiency and physicochemical properties of the obtained *** starting material and obtained zeolites were subjected to physicochemical characteristics using X-ray diffraction,X-ray fluorescence,particle size analysis,and scanning electron microscopy *** paper showed a significant effect of the used fly ash fractions on the quantity,purity,quality and level of crystallinity of the zeolites phase *** application of the grinding process prior to the syntheses of zeolites,with a relatively small financial outlay,significantly increases their application *** zeolites are a promising material in the context of their use,inter alia,in environmental protection.

This paper presents a numerical simulation of the flow inside a cyclone separator at high particle loads. The gas and gas–particle flows were analyzed using a commercial computational fluid dynamics code. The turbulence effects inside the separator were modeled using the Reynolds stress model. The two phase gas–solid particles flow was modeled using a hybrid Euler–Lagrange approach, which accounts for the four-way coupling between phases. The simulations were performed for three inlet velocities of the gaseous phase and several cyclone mass particle loadings. Moreover, the influences of several submodel parameters on the calculated results were investigated. The obtained results were compared against experimental data collected at the in-house experimental rig. The cyclone pressure drop evaluated numerically underpredicts the measured values. The possible reason of this discrepancies was disused.

In this paper,new improvements of methodological concepts upon examining wettability of high vapor pressure liquid metal systems(***-based alloys)in contact with refractory materials,are presented and *** this regard,high-temperature experiments on molten magnesium(Mg)in contact with graphite as a refractory substrate,were performed by utilizing a newly developed testing device and by applying a suitable experimental *** wetting experiments were carried out by the sessile drop method and under identical testing conditions(700℃/10 min under a protective gas atmosphere).Two different procedures were applied:the classical contact heating(CH)or a newly introduced capillary purification(CP)*** contact angle behaviors observed under the same conditions were strongly influenced by the applied ***,in the case of using the CH procedure,a presence of native surface oxide layer on the metal surface hinders the observations of melting process,making not possible to experimentally determine the wetting kinetics curveθ=f(t).Contrarily,during the wetting test performed on the Mg/graphite couple by applying the CP procedure,the native surface oxide layer was mechanically removed during the squeezing of the molten Mg through the hole of a ***,an oxide-free squeezed Mg-drop with regular and spherical shape was successfully obtained and dispensed on the graphite ***,the reliable contact angle value aroundθ=150°for the Mg/graphite system,was measured within the wetting test.

Gastric stump carcinoma （GSC） following remote gastric surgery is widely recognized as a separate entity within the group of various types of gastric cancer. Gastrecto- my is a well established risk factor for the development of GSC at a long time after the initial surgery. Both exo- as well as endogenous factors appear to be involved in the etiopathogenesis of GSC, such as achlorhydria, hypergastrinemia and biliary reflux, Epstein-Barr virus and Helicobacter pylori infection, atrophic gastritis, and also some polymorphisms in interleukin-l~ and maybe cyclo-oxygenase-2. This review summarizes the litera- ture of GSC, with special reference to reliable early di- agnostics. In particular, dysplasia can be considered as a dependable morphological marker. Therefore, close endoscopic surveillance with multiple biopsies of the gastroenterostomy is recommended. Screening start- ing at 15 years after the initial ulcer surgery can detect tumors at a curable stage. This approach can be ofspecial interest in Eastern European countries, where surgery for benign gastroduodenal ulcers has remained a practice for a much longer time than in Western Eu- rope, and therefore GSC is found with higher frequency.

A novel approach of combining conventional infrared spectroscopy （IR） and atomic force microscopy （AFM） is presented to better understand the behavior of a drug adsorbed on a metal substrate at the nanoscale level. Tip-enhanced infrared nanospectroscopy （TEIRA） was used for the first time to investigate Lu AA33810, a selective brain-penetrating Y5 receptor antagonist, after immobilization on gold nanopartides （GNPs）. Here, a gold coated AFM tip and gold substrate were used to obtain the near-field electromagnetic field trapping effect. Because of the huge signal enhancement, it was possible to obtain the spectral information regarding the self-assembled monolayer of the investigated molecule. The effect of two orthogonal polarizations （p- and s-polarization modulations） of the excitation laser beam on the spectral patterns is also discussed. The results show that there is a strong relationship between the state of polarization of the incident radiation and the relative infrared band intensities. Another factor affecting the observed spectral differences is the topology of the metal substrate, which may result in the induction of a cross-polarization effect. The performed analysis indicates that the C--C bond from the cyclohexyl group is oriented almost parallel to the metal surface. Conversely, the p- and s-polarized spectral variations suggest that the O=S---O angle is high enough to enable the simultaneous interaction of both oxygen atoms with the GNPs.

Marcinków(Lower Silesia, ?nie?nik Masiff,south-western Poland) has been a well-known mining centre since the mid-15 th century. Mineral extraction ended in 1949 with the ores of Pb, Ag, Cu and occasionally Au, U or graphite mined there. The mine is surrounded by metamorphic graphite and mica schist. It is not open to the public and no bats have been recorded living in. The aim of this study was the mycological analysis of the air, the rock surface and the water of the disused ore mine of Marcinkó***, the chemical composition of rocks and water, and microclimate conditions of the adit were determined. Fungi were identified using a combination of phenotypic and molecular *** taxa of fungi were cultured from the indoor air samples of the adit, whereas the outdoor air samples contained only five taxa. On the other hand, nine taxa were isolated from both the rocky walls and the *** Aspergillus group was present only on the rocks and in the water, whereas Cladosporium herbarum,Dumontinia tuberosa, Epicoccum nigrum, Hirsutella sp., were found exclusively in the air. The mycobiota found in the ore mine were mostly similar to those recorded in other mines and natural caves. However,it should be noted that the internal microclimate and chemical compounds of the rocks.

AIM:To estimate the amount of apoptosis among healthy HBsAg carriers,patients with chronic HBV infection treated wibh lamivudine and patients with chronic HCV infection treated with interferon alpha and *** of apoptosis was evaluated by serum sFas/sFasL concentration measurement. Moreover dependence between apoptosis and HBV-DNA or HCV-RNA levels was studied. METHODS:Eighty-six persons were included into study:34 healthy HBsAg carders,33 patients with chronic HBV infecl^on and 19 patients with chronic HCV *** levels of sFas/sFasL were measured by ELISA ***-DNA and HCV-RNA were measured by RT-PCR *** of sFas/sFasL were determined before and 2 and 12 wk after therapy in patients with chronic hepatitis B and C infection. HBV-DNA or HCV-RNA was detected before treatment and 6 mo after treatment. RESULTS:Twenty-four (71%) healthy HBsAg carders showed HBV-DNA over 10~5/mL,which was comparable to the patients with chronic hepatitis *** from HBV-DNA levels, the concentration of sFas among healthy HBsAg carders was comparable to healthy *** patients with chronic hepatitis B and C,the concentration of sFas was significantly higher in comparison to healthy HBsAg carriers and healthy *** chronic hepatitis B patients the concentration of sFas was decreased during lamivudine *** chronic hepatitis C patients the concentration of sFas was increased during IFN alpha and ribavirin treatment,sFasL was not detected in control *** sFasL occurred more frequently in chronic hepatitis C patients in comparison to chronic hepatitis B patients. CONCLUSION:There are no correlations between apoptosis and HBV-DNA *** ther is an association between apoptosis and activity of inflammation in patients with chronic HBV *** can be increased in patients with chronic hepatitis C by effective treatment which may be a result of apoptosis stimulation by IFN-α.
