A consistent empirical embedded-atom potential that includes a long range force was developed for fcc （face-centered cubic） metals and alloys. The proposed potential for pure metals does not require modification of the initial function form when being applied to alloy systems. The potential parameters of this model were determined by fitting lattice constant, three elastic constants, cohesive energy, and vacancy formation energies of the pure metals and the heats of solution of the binary alloys via an optimization technique. Parameters for Ag, AI, Au, Cu, Ni, Pd and Pt were obtained. The obtained parameters were used to calculate the bulk modulus, divacancy formation energy, crystal stability, stacking fault energy, vacancy migration energy, and melting point for each pure metal and the heats of formation and lattice constants for binary alloys. The predicted values were in good agreement with experimental results.

This paper describes a framework for modeling interdependencies between different network systems and building *** provides an approach for the integrated analysis of interior building utilities by describing a framework to model and simulate infrastructure interdependencies and their complex *** is a graph-based spatial model that can support use cases such as providing the location and specifications of interior utilities to a technician who wants to perform a maintenance *** location could be needed for maintenance or replacement,or to investigate the result of damage to the building structure on another utility network,or to estimate the effect of different maintenance operations in different locations along utilities service *** model accounts for two important aspects:first,the relationship between interior utilities and building elements or spaces and second,the building hierarchy structure to which the utilities network is related.A proper hierarchy of the building is developed which supports the generation of human-oriented descriptions of interior utilities,where a method for partitions of large building element and spaces as well as a method to reference a network element to another building are *** connection of the different utilities network systems and buildings are generated using joints,which are based on a containment *** example is presented which shows the effectiveness of this approach for supporting maintenance operations,as well as the independences between the maintenance operation location and the other network *** paper presents the data model and explains the links with current 3D building model standards.

Hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)are the primary effector cells in liver *** the normal liver,HSCs serve as the primary vitamin A storage cells in the body and retain a“quiescent”***,after liver injury,they transdifferentiate to an“activated”myofibroblast-like phenotype,which is associated with dramatic upregulation of smooth muscle specific actin and extracellular matrix *** result is a fibrotic,stiff,and dysfunctional ***,understanding the molecular mechanisms that govern HSC function is essential for the development of anti-fibrotic *** actin cytoskeleton has emerged as a key component of the fibrogenic response in wound *** data indicate that the cytoskeleton receives signals from the cellular microenvironment and translates them to cellular function—in particular,increased type I collagen *** in nature,the actin cytoskeleton continuously polymerizes and depolymerizes in response to changes in the cellular *** this viewpoint,we discuss the recent developments underlying cytoskeletal actin dynamics in liver fibrosis,including how the cellular microenvironment affects HSC function and the molecular mechanisms that regulate the actininduced increase in collagen expression typical of activated HSCs.

Combined heat-and-power units(CHPUs)of biogas plants can be operated at partial load or in intervals to respond to market conditions or interventions by the grid *** this study,we present calculations for the specific greenhouse gas(GHG)emissions of electricity from biogas driven CHPUs in dependence of engine *** the methodology of life cycle assessment and using measured data from five real-world biogas plants in Bavaria,we investigated the following scenarios for the operation of the CHPU:(1)full load,(2)80%load response and(3)60%load *** system boundary included the whole biogas production chain,starting from the production/supply of the input materials and ending at the supply of electricity(functional unit:1 kWh of electrical energy fed into the grid).As electrical efficiency and engine load are positively correlated,partial-load operation results in higher specific GHG emissions of electricity from *** impact of decreasing efficiency of the CHPU under partial load on overall specific GHG emissions turned out to be higher than the influence of methane slip from the ***,the increase of further efficiencies such as higher yields,efficient use of synthetic and organic fertilizers,as well as minimization of fuel consumption and the use of regenerative fuels also lead to further decrease of GHG emissions.

This paper constructs a cyclic Z_4-code with a parity-check matrix similar to that of Goethals code but in length 2~m+ 1, for all m ≥ 4. This code is a subcode of the lifted Zetterberg code for m even. Its minimum Lee weight is shown to be at least 10, in general, and exactly 12 in lengths 33, 65. The authors give an algebraic decoding algorithm which corrects five errors in these lengths for m = 5, 6 and four errors for m > 6.

BACKGROUND Flexibility,agility and muscle strength are key factors to either win or lose a *** the effect of a new technique,deep transverse friction massage(DTFM)on muscle extensibility as compared to traditional stretching techniques has been *** To compare the effect of DTFM vs static and dynamic stretching techniques on the hamstring’s extensibility,agility,and strength amongst Lebanese and Syrian football *** the incidence of non-contact hamstring muscle injury was a secondary *** This study is a single-blinded prospective longitudinal randomized controlled *** experiment took place over a period of four *** players were randomized into three intervention groups(static stretching;dynamic stretching;DTFM).Participants of each group were followed-up carefully by assessors during their intervention sessions three times per week,for a total of 12 sessions and during the data ***,agility,and strength were compared between intervention groups at(baseline;acute;and chronic)*** leg raise and 1 repetition maximum tests were used to measure the dominant leg hamstring muscle extensibility and maximal strength respectively.T-drill test was used to assess the lower extremities *** Of 103 Lebanese and Syrian male football players aged between 18 and 35 were sampled from Damascus-Syria and South of Lebanon to participate in this ***-groups measures of acute strength(P=0.011)and chronic extensibility(P=0.000)solely showed a significant difference,and the static group showed to be superior as compared to the other *** loss to follow-up or protocol violation was *** Static stretching is showing to be superior to the other techniques used,regarding gaining long-term extensibility and short-term maximal muscle *** addition,DTFM showed improvements but did not outweigh the effects on footballers’performance when comparing it to static

A Schiff base L [2-thiophenecarboxylic acid, 2-（2-pyridinylmethylene）hydrazide] with its lanthanide metal complexes was synthesized. These complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity measurements, spectral analysis（NMR, FT-IR, and UV-Vis）, luminescence and thermal gravimetric analysis. The Schiff base ligand was a tridentate chelate and coordinates to the central lanthanide ion with 1：2 metal：ligand ratio. The conductivity data showed a 1：1 electrolytic nature with a general formula [LnL_2（NO_3）_2]NO_3. The luminescence emission properties for Sm, Tb, and Eu complexes were observed and showed that the ligand L could absorb and transfer energy to Sm（III）, Tb（III） and Eu（III） ions. The complexes possessed a good antibacterial activity against different bacterial strains. In addition, the scavenging activity of the Ln（III） complexes on DPPH was concentration dependant and the complexes were significantly more efficient in quenching DPPH than the free Schiff base ligand.

This study presents a numerical investigation into the equilibrium shapes and snapthrough response of an innovative bistable symmetric composite *** proposed design is a compound plate that consists of a symmetric flat platform followed by a winglet that utilizes the modified hybrid bistable symmetric laminate recently developed in the *** hybrid layup of the winglet resolves the issue of losing the bistability of the unsymmetric laminate when attached to another *** approximate analytical model based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method is developed for the compound plate that considers the geometric nonlinearity,the clamping conditions at the wing root,and the compatibility conditions at the *** static equilibrium positions predicted by the model were verified against the ABAQUS finite element(FE)results and an excellent agreement was *** influence of the geometrical and material parameters of the proposed design on the static equilibrium shapes and the snapthrough response was *** following parameters were considered:the length ratio of the flat plate to the bistable winglet,the thickness and location of the bidirectional glass epoxy layers,the load location,and the wing’s taperness and aspect *** parameters were found significant,and their effects were *** novelty of this work is that it presents the equilibrium shapes and the snapthrough response of a bistable laminate as a part of a bigger compliant structure,which mimics the scenario in real-life applications.
