The graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) which is a two-dimensional conjugated polymer has drawn broad interdisciplinary attention as a low-cost, metal-free, and visible-light-responsive photocatalyst in the area of environmental remediation. The g-C_3N_4-based materials have excellent electronic band structures, electron-rich properties, basic surface functionalities, high physicochemical stabilities and are ‘‘earth-abundant.'' This review summarizes the latest progress related to the design and construction of g-C_3N_4-based materials and their applications including catalysis, sensing,imaging, and white-light-emitting diodes. An outlook on possible further developments in g-C_3N_4-based research for emerging properties and applications is also included.

Hybrid improper ferroelectric Ca3Ti2O7 and Ca3Tii ***7 ceramics were successfully synthesized by conventional solid-state reaction *** strongest diffraction peaks located around 2θ=33°shifted towards the lower angle region with Ru substitution,reflecting structure *** growth and higher oxygen vacancy concentration after doping resulted in a reduction in the coercive field about 20 kV/*** bandgap estimated by UV-vis diffuse reflectance(DR)spectrum and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)valence band spectra showed a decreasing trend due to the existence of impurity energy level upon Ru doping,which was consistent with the results of first-principles *** origin of the unexpected induced magnetic moments in Ru-dope Ca3Ti2O7 is also discussed.

Using prostate-specific antigen(PSA)for prostate cancer(PCa)screening led to overinvestigation and overdiagnosis of indolent *** aimed to investigate the value of prostate health index(PHI)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)prostate in an Asian PCa screening *** aged 50–75 years were prospectively recruited from a community-based PSA screening *** with PSA 4.0–10.0 ng ml^(−1) had PHI result *** prostate was offered to men with PSA 4.0–50.0 ng ml−1.A systematic prostate biopsy was offered to men with PSA 4.0–9.9 ng ml^(−1) and PHI≥35,or PSA 10.0–50.0 ng ml^(−1).Additional targeted prostate biopsy was offered if they had PI-RADS score≥*** significant PCa(csPCa)was defined as the International Society of Urological Pathology(ISUP)grade group(GG)≥2 or ISUP GG 1 with involvement of≥30%of total systematic *** total,12.8%(196/1536)men had PSA≥4.0 ng ml^(−1).Among 194 men with PSA 4.0–50.0 ng ml^(−1),187(96.4%)received MRI *** them,28.3%(53/187)had PI-RADS≥3 ***,7.0%(107/1536)men were indicated for biopsy and 94.4%(101/107)men received *** the men received biopsy,PCa,ISUP GG≥2 PCa,and csPCa was diagnosed in 42(41.6%),24(23.8%),and 34(33.7%)men,*** with PSA/PHI pathway in men with PSA 4.0–50.0 ng ml^(−1),additional MRI increased diagnoses of PCa,ISUP GG≥2 PCa,and csPCa by 21.2%(from 33 to 40),22.2%(from 18 to 22),and 18.5%(from 27 to 32),*** benefit of additional MRI was only observed in PSA 4.0–10.0 ng ml^(−1),and the number of MRI needed to diagnose one additional ISUP GG≥2 PCa was 20 in PHI≥35 and 94 in PHIng ml^(−1) avoided unnecessary biopsy with the use of PHI and MRI.A screening algorithm with PSA,PHI,and MRI could effectively diagnose csPCa while reducing unnecessary *** benefit of MRI prostate was mainly observed in PSA 4.0–9.9 ng ml^(−1) and PHI≥35 *** was an important risk stratification step for PCa

Background Proper parent-child interaction is crucial for child development, but an assessment tool in Chinese is currently lacking. This study aimed to develop and validate a parent-reported parent-child interaction scale for Chinese preschool children. Methods The Chinese parent-child interaction scale (CPCIS) was designed by an expert panel based on the literature and clinical observations in the Chinese context. The initial CPCIS had 14 parent-child interactive activity items. Psychometric properties of the CPCIS were examined using the Rasch model and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Convergent validity was investigated by the associations between CPCIS and family income, maternal education level, and children's school readiness. Results The study recruited 567 Chinese parent-child pairs from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, who completed the CPCIS. Six out of the 14 items in the initial CPCIS were dropped due to suboptimal fi t values. The refined 8-item CPCIS was shown to be valid and reliable by Rasch models and CFA. The person separation reliability and Cronbach's α of the CPCIS were 0.81 and 0.82, respectively. The CPCIS scores were positively associated with family's socioeconomic status (η2 = 0.05,P < 0.001), maternal education level (η2 = 0.08,P < 0.001), and children's school readiness (η2 = 0.01,P < 0.01). Conclusion CPCIS is an easily administered, valid, and reliable tool for the assessment of parent-child interactions in Chinese families.

A growing number of multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) has undergone testing for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Unfortunately, this enthusiasm has recently been discouraged by a number of negative phase III studies on several anti-angiogenic TKIs in HCC. Several postulations have been made to account for this phenomenon, namely the plateau effects of anti-angiogenesis approach, the heterogeneity of HCC in terms of background hepatitis/cirrhosis and tumor biology, as well as the way how clinical trials are designed. Regardless of the underlying reasons, these results suggested that alternative strategies are necessary to further develop systemic therapy for HCC. Several new strategies are currently evaluated: for examples, molecular agents with activities against targets other than vascular endothelial growth factor receptor are being evaluated in on-going clinical trials. In addition, different approaches of targeted agents in combination with various treatment modalities, such as concurrently with another molecular agent, cytotoxic chemotherapy or transarterial chemoembolization, are being developed. This review aims to give a summary on the results of recently released clinical trials on TKIs, followed by discussion on some of the potential novel agents and combinational approaches. Future directions for testing innovative systemic agents for HCC will also be discussed.

AIM： To identify the misperceptions among CHB patients,as well as to determine the factors associated with ***： A telephone interview was conducted on 292 adult CHB patients, who earlier responded to an advertisement for free screening. The questionnaire included items about socio-demographic factors and a24-item quiz on knowledge of general aspects,transmission, and management of HBV ***： The mean knowledge score on HBV was 10.4/14. Common misperceptions included availability of treatment for HBV infection and early liver cancer, as well as on transmission. Having completed tertiary education was the only independent factor associated with a high knowledge score, after controlling other demographic ***： More educational efforts should be focused on patients＇ misperceptions and target the less educated HBV carriers.

Health related quality of life(HRQOL) is increasingly recognized as an important clinical parameter and research endpoint in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). HRQOL in HCC patients is multifaceted and affected by medical factor which encompasses HCC and its complications, oncological and palliative treatment for HCC, underlying liver disease, as well as the psychological, social or spiritual reaction to the disease. Many patients presented late with advanced disease and limited survival, plagued with multiple symptoms, rendering QOL a very important aspect in their general well being. Various instruments have been developed and validated to measure and report HRQOL in HCC patients, these included general HRQOL instruments, e.g., Short form(SF)-36, SF-12, Euro Qo L-5D, World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment 100(WHOQOL-100), World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment abbreviated version; general cancer HRQOL instruments, e.g., the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer(EORTC) QLQ-C30, Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy(FACT)-General, Spitzer Quality of Life Index; and liver-cancer specific HRQOL instruments, e.g., EORTC QLQ-HCC18, FACT-Hepatobiliary(FACT-Hep), FACT-Hep Symptom Index, Trial Outcome Index. Important utilization of HRQOL in HCC patients included description of symptomatology and HRQOL of patients, treatment endpoint in clinical trial, prognostication of survival, benchmarking of palliative care service and health care valuation. In this review, difficulties regarding the use of HRQOL data in research and clinical practice, including choosing a suitable instrument, problems of missing data, data interpretation, analysis and presentation are examined. Potential solutions are also discussed.

For the development of new ligands as potential imaging agents for the serotonin transporter (SERT),a series of diphenyl ether derivatives have been synthesized,characterized,and evaluated for their in vitro binding affinities to the SERT. Among the above compounds,2-(2-((dimethylamino)methyl)-4-fluoro-phenoxy)-5-bromobenzenamine (15) and 2-(2-((dimethylamino)methyl)-4-fluorophenoxy)-5-iodobenzene amine (16) show high binding affinities for the SERT with Ki values of 0.28 and 0.20 nmol·L-1,respectively. They can be further labeled with carbon-11,fluorine-18,iodine-123 or bromine-76,and evaluated as useful imaging agents for the SERT. Moreover,the study of the structure-activity relationship (SAR) provides some useful information for the future design of new ligands.

Terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems are increasingly threatened by pesticide pollution resulting from extensive use of pes-ticides,and due to the lack of regulatory measures in the developing world,there is a need for affordable means to lessen environmental *** study aimed to investigate the impact of biochar amendment on the toxicity of imidacloprid to life-cycle parameters and biomarker responses of the earthworm Eisenia *** was exposed to 10%biochar-amended and non-amended OECD artificial soils spiked with 0,0.75,1.5,2.25 and 3 mg imidacloprid/kg for 28 *** LC50 of 2.7 mg/kg was only computed in the non-amended soil but not in the biochar-amended soil due to insignificant *** EC50 calculated in the non-amended soil(0.92 mg/kg)for reproduction(fertility)was lower than the one computed in the biochar amended(0.98 mg/kg),indicating a decrease in toxicity in the biochar-amended *** weight loss was observed at the two highest imidacloprid treatments in the non-amended soil and only at the highest treatment in the biochar-amended substrate,further highlighting the beneficial effects of *** activity decreased significantly at the two highest concentrations of non-amended ***,in the amended soil,the activity remained high,especially in the highest concentration,where it was significantly higher than the *** indicated more severe oxidative stress in the absence of *** all non-amended treatments,there was a significant acetylcholinesterase inhibition,while lower inhibition percentages were observed in the biochar-amended *** most endpoints,the addition of biochar alleviated the toxic effects of imidacloprid,which shows that biochar has the potential to be useful in soil ***,there is still a need for field studies to identify the most effective application rate of biochar for land application.
