Spatial-temporal evolution of injection-induced earthquakes in the weiyuan Area determined by machine-learning phase picker and waveform cross-correlation

Anthropogenic induced seismicity has been widely reported and investigated in many regions,including the shale gas fields in the Sichuan basin,where the frequency of earthquakes has increased substantially since the commencement of fracking in late ***,the details of how earthquakes are induced remain poorly understood,partly due to lack of high-resolution spatial-temporal data documenting the evolution of such seismic *** previous studies have been based on a diffusive earthquake catalog constructed by routine ***,however,we have constructed a high resolution catalog using a machine learning detector and waveform *** limited data,this new approach has detected one-third more earthquakes and improves the magnitude completeness of the catalog,illuminating the comprehensive spatial-temporal migration of the emerging seismicity in the target *** of the clusters clearly delineates a potential unmapped fault trace that may have led to the Mw 5.2 in September 2019,by far the largest earthquake recorded in the *** migration of the seismicity also demonstrates a pore-pressure diffusion front,suggesting additional constraints on the inducing mechanism of the *** patterns of the highly clustered seismicity reconcile the causal link between the emerging seismicity and the activity of hydraulic fracturing in the region,facilitating continued investigation of the mechanisms of seismic induction and their associated risks.

we investigated the association of time to prostate-specific antigen nadir （TTPN） and logarithm of prostate-specific antigen velocity after progression Log（PSAVAP） in metastatic prostate cancer with prior primary androgen deprivation therapy （ADT）. All metastatic prostate cancer patients treated with primary ADT from 2000 to 2009 were reviewed. Patients who developed disease progression were included in the subsequent analyses. Patients were categorized into three groups according to their TTPN： TTPN of 〈3 months, 3-17 months, and 〉17 months. we compared the Log（PSAVAP） between the different TTPN groups using Mann-whitney U-test and Kruskal-wallis test. Further multiple linear regression analyses on Log（PSAVAP） were performed to adjust for other potential confounding factors. Among 419 patients who were treated with primary ADT, 306 patients developed disease progression with a median follow-up of 28 months, Longer TTPN was associated with lower Log（PSAVAP）（P = 0.008） within all subgroup analyses （TTPN of 〈3 vs 3-17 months, P = 0.020; TTPN of 3-17 vs 〉17 months, P = 0.009; and TTPN of 〈3 vs 〉17 months, P = 0.001）. Upon multiple linear regression analyses, baseline PSA （regression coefficient 0.001, P = 0.045）, PSA nadir （regression coefficient 0.002, P = 0.040）, and TTPN （regression coefficient -0.030, P = 0.001） were the three factors that were significantly associated with Log（PSAVAP）. In conclusion, a longer TTPN was associated with lower Log（PSAVAP） in metastatic prostate cancer patients following primary ADT. TTPN cut-offs at 3 months and 17 months appeared to have prognostic significance in predicting Log（PSAVAP）. TTPN may serve as a good prognostic indicator in deciding the treatment strategy in patients with disease progression.

The application of directional antennas in wireless ad hoc networks brings numerous benefits, such as increased spatial reuse and mitigated interference. Most MAC protocols with directional antennas are based on the RTS/CTS mechanism which works well in wireless ad hoc networks using omni-directional antennas. However, RTS/CTS frames cannot mitigate the interference completely. Besides, they also contribute a lot to the performance overhead. This paper studies the problem from a new perspective. we have found that the transmission success probability under directional transmission and directional reception is quite high when the antenna beamwidth is quite narrow. Motivated by the analytical results, we design a lightweight MAC protocol without RTS/CTS frames. The evaluation results demonstrate that this new protocol performs better than MAC protocols based on the RTS/CTS mechanism. The results also show that a collision-tolerant transmission is feasible under the narrow beam configuration.

The lanthanide coordination polymers bearing a 13-membered macrocycle, [(13-EDTA-pnOH)H2] were synthesized. The products [Ln(13-EDTA-pnOH)(H2O)2·NO3]n (Ln = Eu(1), Tb(2), Dy(3)) have been obtained by MS, IR and element analyses. The solid-state structure of 1 was established by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The coordination geometry around the central metal atom in complex 1 is a nine-coor-dinated, tricapped-trigonal prism having six donor atoms (two amine nitrogen atoms, two amide oxygen atoms and two carboxymethyl oxygen atoms) from one ligand, one oxygen atom from a neighboring ligand, and two more oxygen atoms from two water molecules. The europium atoms are linked by―Eu―O―C―O―Eu―bridges to form an infinite chain.

Recently, the issue of privacy preserving loca- tion queries has attracted much research. However, there are few works focusing on the tradeoff between location privacy preservation and location query information collection. To tackle this kind of tradeoff, we propose the privacy persevering location query （PLQ）, an efficient privacy pre-serving location query processing framework. This frame- work can enable the location-based query without revealing user location information. The framework can also facilitate location-based service providers to collect some information about the location based query, which is useful in practice. PLQ consists of three key components, namely, the location anonymizer at the client side, the privacy query processor at the server side, and an additional trusted third party connect- ing the client and server. The location anonymizer blurs the user location into a cloaked area based on a map-hierarchy. The map-hierarchy contains accurate regions that are parti- tioned according to real landforms. The privacy query pro- cessor deals with the requested nearest-neighbor （NN） loca- tion based query. A new convex hull of polygon （CHP） algo- rithm is proposed for nearest-neighbor queries using a poly- gon cloaked area. The experimental results show that our al- gorithms can efficiently process location based queries.

we propose a multiscale method for simulating solids with moving dislocations. Away from atomistic subdomains where the atomistic dynamics are fully resolved, a dislocation is represented by a localized jump profile, superposed on a defect-free field. we assign a thin relay zone around an atomistic subdomain to detect the dislocation profile and its propagation speed at a selected relay time. The detection technique utilizes a lattice time history integral treatment. After the relay, an atomistic computation is performed only for the defect-free field. The method allows one to effectively absorb the fine scale fluctuations and the dynamic dislocations at the interface between the atomistic and continuum domains. In the surrounding region, a coarse grid computation is adequate.

In Part 2 of the paper on the Smart-Cut process, the effects of bonding flaws characterized by the size and internal pressure before and after splitting are studied by using fracture mechanics models. It is found that the bonding flaws with large size are prone to cause severe deviation of defect growth, leading to a non-transferred area of thin layer when splitting. In a practical Smart-Cut process where the internal pressure of bonding flaws is very small, large interfacial defects always promote defect growth in the splitting process. Meanwhile, increasing the internal pressure of the bonding flaws decreases the defect growth and its deviation before splitting. The mechanism of relaxation of stiffener constraint is proposed to clarify the effect of bonding flaws. Moreover, the progress of the splitting process is analyzed when bonding flaws are present. After splitting, those bonding flaws with large size and high internal pressure are vulnerable for the blistering of the thin film during high-temperature annealing.
