Noise pollution is becoming a critical health risk for city *** 2020,the COVID-19 pandemic forced many cities to implement several mobility *** restrictions changed human activity patterns and decreased the noise levels and noise pollution that often affect urban *** the number of infections decreased,so did the outdoor activities,influencing the population’s perception of *** paper aims to evaluate the changes in noise levels associated with mobility restrictions between 2020 and 2021 in Guayaquil,*** study used crowdsourcing with the help of smartphones and mobile applications to collect geo-referenced environmental noise *** data was used to generate noise maps in different time ***,noise level maps were created using GIS-based tools to identify the urban areas that experienced the highest noise level variation during the study *** results show that the most significant noise increase occurred at ***,when analyzing noise level changes in different urban areas,the western area of Guayaquil was the one that experienced the most significant noise level *** inform the perception of noise pollution and could potentially serve as a reference for decision-makers during the proposal of public policies that ensure a better quality of life for its citizens.

Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO Film on Stainless Steel Wire and Bioaerosol Antimicrobial Activity Evaluation

ZnO thin films were prepared by electrophoretic deposition on stainless steel wire sieve, using zinc acetate as a precursor. The film was sintered and characterised by Scanning Electron Microscopy （SEM）, X-Ray Diffraction （XRD） and chemisorption of oxygen. A culture bacterial consortium composed by gram negative rod-shaped microbes was prepared in a liquid agar in a flask. It was transported by air through a reactor equipped with a UV lamp with 3 and 5 sieves of a stainless steel wire coated with ZnO film. It was exposed in continuous in five experiments to photocatalytic advanced oxidation. The experiments showed a total efficiency for colony forming unit reduction of a maximum of 99.66% for a residence time of 20 seconds with 5 stainless steel wire where exposed in continuous to UV. Also they were evaluated at 7.5 seconds, observing that the contribution of residence time and amount of catalytic for the CFU reduction was quite similar. Variance analysis showed that the efficiency was significant with the no parametric Kruskal-Wallis test with P 〈 0.05. This technology could be used to clean indoor air of closed environments such as hospitals, crowded buildings or public transportation systems where airborne bacteria has been documented.

New Records of Marine Macroalgae on the Caribbean on Coast of Costa Rica

The results obtained in this study highlight that further the macroalgae diversity in this region is even higher than what is reported to date. Here we present eight new records of marine macroalgae collected from the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica between March 2011 and May 2019. The morphological characteristics of Bryocladia cuspidata, Ceratodictyon variabile, Gracilaria hayi, Padina boergesenii, Zonaria tournefortii, Sargassum furcatum, Chaetomorpha aerea, and Bryopsis pennata var. secunda are described. The genera Bryocladia and Zonaria are reported for the first time for this region.

Larvicidal activity of Neem oil and three plant essential oils from Senegal against Chrysodeixis chalcites(Esper, 1789)

Objective: To evaluate the insecticide, larvicidal and repellent activity of the essential oils from Callistemon viminalis, Melaleuca leucadendron, and Hyptis suaveolens against Chrysodeixis chalcites and to compare it with neem oil(Azadirachta indica). Methods: The essential oils of the leaves of these aromatiques plants were extracted by steam distillation and contacts tests were carried out. Results: Essential oils in ethanol from Callistemon viminalis showed a higher biological activity than the neem with 100% larval mortality at the concentration of 2 μg/m L for 6 h, 100% and 90% in ethanol from Melaleuca leucadendron and Hyptis suaveolens, respectively at the concentration of 4 μg/m L for 24 h. By inhalation, the essential oils from Melaleuca leucadendron and of Hyptis suaveolens were more effective with mortality rates of larvae 100% and 50% respectively at 2 μg/L air applied after 24 h. Nevertheless, the neem has shown to be a repulsive plant and anti-nutritional plant. A significant difference in the percentages of consumption between leaves treated with neem oil and the control samples was observed(Newman-Keuls test) except for Melaleuca leucadendron. Conclusions: The results of the study highlight remarkable biocide, properties of tested extracts, which provides important opportunities for the development of biopesticides.

Guitarist Pick for Melena: A Unique Case of an Upper GI Bleed

Gastrointestinal bleeds are a commonly observed complication after left ventricular assist device placement and usually caused by formation of arteriovenous malformations or acquired von Willebrand disease in the setting of anticoagulation use. We present a unique case of an upper GI bleed in which the cause was likely due to the impaction of a guitar pick into the duodenal bulb in the setting of continuous flow-LVAD on anticoagulation with elevated INR and discuss the pathophysiology of GI bleeds post-LVAD placement and relevant concerns about finding foreign bodies in the GI tract and their complications.

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) represents a unique challenge for physicians and *** is no definitively curative ***,many treatment and management modalities exist with differing advantages and *** current guidelines and individual patient concerns must be taken into account in order to properly manage *** addition,quality of life issues are particularly complex in patients with HCC and these concerns must also be factored into treatment ***,considering all the options and their various pros and cons can quickly become complex for both clinicians and *** this review,we systematically discuss the current treatment modalities available for HCC,detailing relevant clinical data,risks and rewards and overall outcomes for each *** options discussed include resection,transplantation and *** also discuss the radiation modalities:conformal radiotherapy,yttrium 90 microspheres and proton and heavy ion *** biologic agent Sorafenib is discussed as a promising new approach,and recent clinical trials are *** then detail currently described molecular pathways implicated in the initiation and progression of HCC,and we explore the potential of each pathway as an avenue for drug *** hope this comprehensive and forward-looking review enables both clinicians and patients to understand various options and thereby make more informed decisions regarding this disease.

Background:Hepatitis C(HCV)remains a serious public health problem in high-risk persons such as patients on chronic *** aimed to estimate the serological prevalence of HCV,the HCV viral load and genotype,and liver fibrosis stage among patients on chronic hemodialysis at the National Renal Health Center in Lima,***:From June 2019 to March 2021,all patients who received chronic hemodialysis were invited to *** who provided written informed consent were *** with HCV-positive serology underwent determination of HCV viral *** from subjects with detectable viral load,underwent determination of HCV ***,HCV infected subjects underwent determination of liver fibrosis using transitional elastography(Fibroscan 402):Metavir score:F0-F1:2.5-7.5 kPa,F2:7.6-9.5 Kpa,F3:9.6-12 Kpa,F4(Cirrhosis):12.1-75 ***:Of the 303 subjects invited to participate,174(57.4%)subjects gave their written *** age was 52 years(range 22-91)and 116(66.6%)were *** serology was positive in 35.1%of patients(61/174);however,the prevalence of positive serology with detectable viral load was 20.11%(35/174).Genotype 1a was the most prevalent(85%).The majority(83.6%)of subjects with detectable viral load had values lower than 800.000 IU/***-nine of those 35 subjects underwent elastography evaluation,and 13(44.8%)of them were found to have stage F2-F4 ***:The prevalence of HCV at the largest reference center for hemodialysis in Lima remains high,with GT1a predominance,viral load usually below 800,000 IU/mL and significant liver fibrosis.

Nurses’perception on competency requirement and training demand for intensive care nurses

利用并行巨型计算机做三维叠前深度偏移是一种行之有效的成像处理方法。在常规计算机上一整套输出数据要运行几年,而现在只要数周即可。因此,可以用输出数据的一个小子集进行重要速度模型的迭代,并且几天即可完成。盐下成像特别困难,因此需要进行三维叠前深度偏移。墨西哥湾盐丘底部三维成像实例展示了三维叠前深度偏移和偏移速度分析的优点,并着重说明了用二维叠前深度偏移进行复杂构造成像的危害。
