The matrix assembly cluster source(MACS)represents a bridge between conventional instruments for cluster beam deposition(CBd)and thelevel of industrial *** method is based on Ar^+ion sputtering of a pre-condensed Ar-M matrix(where M,is typically a metal such asAg).Each Ar^+ion produces a collision cascade and thus the formation of metal clusters is in the matrix,which are then sputtered *** wepresent an experimental and computational investigation of the cluster emission process,specifically its dependence on the Ar^+ion angle of in cidence and the cluster emission *** find the in cide nee angle strongly in flue nces the emerging cluster flux,which is assigned to thespatial location of the deposited primary ion energy relative to the cluster into the *** also found an approximately constant anglebetween the incident ion beam and the peak in the emitted cluster distribution,with value between 99°and 109°.

Pathology of Alzheimer disease: A New Addition

The autopsy brains of Alzheimer patients display many structural and biochemical abnonnalities including plaques, tangles, neuron and synapse loss, and deficiency of transmitters in the cholinergic, noradrenergic, serotonergic and certain amino acid systems. Among all these alterations, only one stands out as having a dose relationship to the severity of the dementia. This is the decline of synoptic concentration in the neocortex, especially in the prefrontal region.

An Impact of Hydrostatic Extraction Scheme on BMRC's Global Spectral Model

One is that the atmospheric and oceanic equations of motion include the Coriolis force another is that they describe a stratified fluid. The hydrostatic extraction scheme or standard stratification approximation posed by Zeng (1979) reflects the second aspect of geophysical fluid dynamics. There exist two major advantages in this scheme accurate computation of the pressure gradient force can be obtained over steep mountain slopes and the accumulation error in vertical finite differencing can be reduced especially near the tropopause.Chen et al (1987) introduced the hydrostatic extraction scheme into a global spectral model which attained preliminary success at low resolution. Zhang and Sheng et al (1990) developed and improved the hydrostatic extraction scheme in a global spectral model in which C0 the parameter that represents the stratification of the reference atmosphere changes not only with height but also with latitude. The scheme has been incorporated BMRC's global spectral model (IAPB). Four 5-day forecasts have been performed to test the IAPB with the hydrostatic extraction scheme. Objective verifications demonstrate a positive effect of the hydrostatic extration scheme on BMRC's model particularly at upper levels over the tropics and the Antartic region.

Culture-independent molecular techniques have demonstrated that the majority of the gut microbiota is *** of these molecular techniques to more accurately identify the indigenous gut microbiome has moved with great pace over recent years,leading to a substantial increase in understanding of gut microbial communities in both health and a number of disorders,including irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Use of culture-independent molecular techniques already employed to characterise faecal and,to a lesser extent,colonic mucosal microbial populations in IBS,without reliance on insensitive,traditional microbiological culture techniques,has the potential to more accurately determine microbial composition in the small intestine of patients with this disorder,at least that occurring proximally and within reach of *** data concerning culture-based and culture-independent analyses of the small intestinal microbiome in IBS are considered here.

Review of salt consumption and stomach cancer risk:Epidemiological and biological evidence

Stomach cancer is still the fourth most common cancer;thus,it remains an important public health burden worldwide,especially in developing *** remarkable geographic variations in the rates of stomach cancer indicate that dietary factors,including a range of food groups to which salt and/or nitrates have been added,may affect stomach cancer *** this paper,we review the results from ecologic,case-control and cohort studies on the relationship between salt or salted foods and stomach cancer *** majority of ecological studies indicated that the average salt intake in each population was closely correlated with gastric cancer *** case-control studies showed similar results,indicating a moderate to high increase in risk for the highest level of salt or salted food *** overall results from cohort studies are not totally consistent,but are suggestive of a moderate direct *** salt intake has been correlated with Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) infection,it is possible that these two factors may synergize to promote the development of stomach ***,salt may also cause stomach cancer through directly damaging gastric mucus,improving temporary epithelial proliferation and the incidence of endogenous mutations,and inducing hypergastrinemia that leads to eventual parietal cell loss and progression to gastric *** on the considerable evidence from ecological,case-control and cohort studies worldwide and the mechanistic plausibility,limitation on salt and salted food consumption is a practical strategy for preventing gastric cancer.

Although many causes of Alzheimer’s disease(Ad)may exist,both the original amyloid cascade and tau hypotheses posit that abnormal misfolding and accumulation of amyloid-β(Aβ)and tau protein is the central event causing the ***,that conclusion could be only partly true,and there is conflicting evidence about the role of both proteins in Ad,being able to precede and influence one *** researchers argue that these proteins are mere executors rather than primary causes of ***,there have been continuing refinements of both hypotheses,with alternative explanations proposed.Aβand tau proteins may be independently involved in specific neurotoxic pathways;yet there may be other crucial processes going on in early ***,accumulating evidence suggests that Aβand tau act synergistically,rather than additively in disease onset(Jeremic et al.,2021,2023a).
